I have used My Heritage over a few years now to great effect, it has provided a great interface for all of my family records and has been relatively easy to use.

I was using Geni and MyHeritage separately when they merged. I was using MyHeritage as a way of showing my close family the relationships to them - about 60 individuals. My efforts were mainly on Geni, as I was expanding my knowledge of my expanded family, using the cooperative work of other known and unknown members of my family. I keep receiving messages of "relationship discoveries" that are nothing but discovery of my family "MyHeritage islands" that don't help me a bit. In my view, the classic "myHeritage limited family" shoud be merged with Geni, as a limited window into the large Geni universe

I ordered a DNA test, which took 15-20 days to arrive. A week after I received the test, they charged me a €130 yearly subscription—something I never signed up for. I just wanted to take the test, nothing more.
When I requested a refund, their customer service was extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. They even started yelling at me, just because I asked for my money back.
I don't appreciate being charged for something I never requested or needed. Unfortunately, this company seems to be nothing more than a cash machine, trying to take your money whether you agree or not. They are scammers and not trustworthy—be careful!
A year ago, I contacted the company MyHeritage because I was interested in my ancestry. I live in Poland, originally from Belarus, which I indicated when filling out the questionnaire. I took and sent a DNA sample, and received results that were not surprising to me, indicating my ancestry as Eastern European and 35 percent Baltic (my ancestors were born on the border with modern Lithuania)
But then I wanted to study my DNA on other platforms, including those that are more serious and scientific. So I downloaded a CSV file with my DNA data, where all the information was listed by chromosomes. The document was very long, but I didn't mind scrolling to the end. To my surprise, when I reached the end of the document, I found the Y chromosome, and I am a woman, was born a woman, gave birth to a child, and you don't need to be a geneticist to know that women have XX female chromosomes, while XY indicates male DNA. I only uploaded mine data to the site, no one else's. Whose DNA data did they send me? And was my DNA analysis even done there, or was the result generated based on the information I already provided in my profile and family tree?

I've been a member of MyHeritage since their beginning. It is virtually impossible to get in touch with them to ask a question. This is unacceptable. Their new use of AI produces results that are ridiculous. I have lost faith in their "helpful research".

Ya había hablado con una persona para solucionar el problema. Pero la cosa acaba de empeorar porque ingresé en mi cuenta el dinero para las compras navideñas y me acabo de encontrar con que no puedo pagar porque me han pasado un recibo de 119'79€ y además ese dinero está retenido. No puedo finalizar las compras. Así no. Por lo que anulo lo tratado con la persona con la que hablé y cancelo todo. Que me devuelvan el dinero del pedido y que anulen el recibo de 119'79€. W\hat information I need to add to the data that I already have is readily available. It is easy to find and adds more information to what I already know. I enjoy reading more about my ancestors.
Answer: My issue was the automatic renewal without any kind of courtesy reminder prior to the effective date, as other businesses do. Advising one year in advance is a poor business practice. When I contacted them immediately on the renewal effective date, they refused to cancel and offered me a 25% discount. They eventually gave me the full refund but it was due to me turning it over to AMEX to resolve. I do however agree with the advice to base your renewal on your own personal experience.
Answer: You can find your site subscriptions via MyHeritage homepage - pull-down menu on the right upper corner button "Settings". Then click on "My purchases", and button "Site subscriptions". Click "View details". The details contain section "Cancel subscription". Maybe you can get advice by mail from MyHeritage support team ([email protected]).

Answer: Hi After posting my complaint about MyHeritage on here I got a very quick response from some one called Dave at the company. He told me to send an email to [email protected] and add the subject Dave: sitejabber. He responded a couple of days later - I emailed on a Saturday - and the auto repeat on my subscription was cancelled and my money refunded within days. Hope this helps.
