I have been a member of MyHeritage for several years now. I took advantage of the DNA program last year just out of curiosity. When the results came back I was shocked! It revealed that I had a half-brother I was unaware of. Our mother died when I was just three. I have one biological brother who is 1 1/2 years younger than me. I am now 65 y/o. Apparently my mother had him 7 years before me and gave him up for adoption. He grew up an only child. He now has 2 brothers! We have already met in person and now talk on the phone frequently. We have another reunion coming up this Summer!

I found my heritage is the best site for my ancestry.It saves alot of research.
I have been a member of My Heritage for many years and have progressed as the system grew and acquired more data. Unfortunately, it has also become very expensive and I fear that I will not be able to afford the membership in the next few years.

I was very disappointed that MyHeritage did not provide any names from previous generations of my heritage. The DNA test results only identify possible distant relations if they took the MyHeritage DNA test. If those people don't reply to your messages (that can only be sent from within the platform; replies are rare if those relatives are not still paying to be on the platform). The people who have been identified as possible connections are very low percentage matches. Those people found very few connections that are second-generation matches. Frustration kicks in family-tree work stops after listing people they already know and are still living. I want to verify family tree connections back numerous generations into the 1600s, 1700s and 1800s!

I love the amazing technology, but when transporting, syncing, etc. some relationships are jumbled, or incorrect. 20 years and a lot of money, and I still have little confidence in finding my brick wall! If only I could talk to a genealogy coach, to verify! Where do you see the whole family tree? Removing duplicates seems overwhelming.
Have problem with a DNA kit which was lost in mail and returned to me weeks later.

Matches seemed like a good idea at first, but the fact that they don't contain info on sources is a problem. I understand that MyHeritage wants to solidify the larger tree, but doing it without sources isn't helpful to anyone.

Due to a new cell phone # change, I required the assistance of MyHeritage Tech Support to update my account to the new #. The Tech Support Representative was very professional, thorough and courteous. Mission accomplished in a very short time.

There are a multitude of reference options for doing just a quick search or going as far back as you can, I'm back to the late 1500s on my tree.

I was able to build my family tree several generations back to Italy and Spain and I am thrilled.
Answer: My issue was the automatic renewal without any kind of courtesy reminder prior to the effective date, as other businesses do. Advising one year in advance is a poor business practice. When I contacted them immediately on the renewal effective date, they refused to cancel and offered me a 25% discount. They eventually gave me the full refund but it was due to me turning it over to AMEX to resolve. I do however agree with the advice to base your renewal on your own personal experience.
Answer: You can find your site subscriptions via MyHeritage homepage - pull-down menu on the right upper corner button "Settings". Then click on "My purchases", and button "Site subscriptions". Click "View details". The details contain section "Cancel subscription". Maybe you can get advice by mail from MyHeritage support team ([email protected]).

They are highly Sloppy and unprofessional in responding to customer request for assistance. Even though they have and excellent Technical Team. Fortunately I have another Computer with Windows 8 as a result of which I am able to continue working with my Website. But recently a few problems have cropped up with the recent upgrade of the My Heritage Program and have sent in a request for assistance and till today 3-5 months later I have no response. Apparently the company believes that they can play games with the customers. I firmly believe that they have somehow gone into self destructive mode.

Answer: Hi After posting my complaint about MyHeritage on here I got a very quick response from some one called Dave at the company. He told me to send an email to [email protected] and add the subject Dave: sitejabber. He responded a couple of days later - I emailed on a Saturday - and the auto repeat on my subscription was cancelled and my money refunded within days. Hope this helps.
