I thought the site was great until my last two orders last week. One order came without tags and the label inside one of the pieces was worn out. They went back. Then this latest order, the tag looked like the ones you find in a vintage store. Supervisors swore up and down they only buy new from the designer and nowhere else. Well, I tracked down the proper people at the design house itself and was emphatically told that they do not sell to MyHabit, and according to the tag that was attached to the piece, it's from 2009. When I tried to get to the bottom of it, all I got was a run around between corporate in NY and corporate in Seattle. Disgraceful.
First off, for us people that reside on the east coast, the sales don't go on line until 12 noon, when most of us are at work. When I have managed, after great effort to buy a number of things, mostly women's handbags, it was very rushed. If you don't jump on your item quickly, they sell out. Usually with in first 2 hours of sale. The most disappointing thing is, the quality of merchandise! Not what I expected, even from the somewhat vague descriptions item. I have returned more items than I have kept. The most insulting part of the whole transaction is you don't get your money back, they only give you an amazon gift card good for future purchases, I'm afraid I won't be doing much purchasing from this site in the future. It's to bad, the basic philosophy of site is great but in practice is disappointing.
This site is the best in deals & shipping! Fast and free. Also free returns. O my I love this site! Never had an issue. You do have to be quick on the mouse to catch certain items bit that's what makes it fun!
If you search for the same merchandise in google you can usually find it for the same price or less right on the amazon website. Bunch of hype to get you excited but not worth it. Unless you want to buy designer jeans from a defunct company that was clearing out inventory for the same price! Without the BS limited quantity/already in someone else's cart crap.
The intro coupons made speed shopping a little worth it but, it seems those are gone. So tired of having to RACE to try buy something here. By the time I get a chance to look at what they offer, they are sold out. Saw some really cute kids boots and of course couldn't get them. So, I Googled the brand and guess what? NOT the lowest price on the net and I could actually order them like a real human being and not a frenzied monkey. I'm done with MyHabit. I look but then go browsing for the brand somewhere else. They are not the only site that offers free shipping and returns either. I'm over it.
Yes, they do have great offers, but more than once I was lucky enough to get the deal just to encounter their system errors. Compared with their competition, they may have better offers but the numerous system errors make it a real pain to shop here.
I joined MyHabit months ago, but have only been able to pick up one item; everyday, I start checking the site by 8:55am (Pacific Time), and by 9:01 everything is sold out. I haven't been able to put something in my cart, and the "Waitlist" option is a joke. While I've only spent a few minutes everyday on the site, the level of frustration is incredible, especially after going onto forums only to see that people have used multiple accounts and gotten a ton of stuff. In my opinion, MyHabit has been ruined by all the greedy people out there, and I will not be shopping there anymore.
Since i have been invited by Amazon 2 weeks ago, i have not been able to purchase anything. Everthing is always sold or on waitlist. I have noticed this for the children's items. It's frustrating when it's a great deal and you missed it. Also, i try to get on when the sale comes out so it's not like it's been days that the sale has been out on web. Done trying.
I ordered a pair of jeans that arrived really quickly and fit like a glove. And I LOVE that the shipping is free, so much better than other sample sale sites.
So, TN convinced me to take a chance and I impulse bought 3 pairs of shoes that were not the correct size (but based on product reviews, apparently manufacturing discrepancies were in my favour). One thing that I noticed was that one of the boxes was damaged on the side and taped over, but that caused one of the shoe boxes to get extremely warped. Not a big deal since nothing was damaged, but they might want to look into sturdier packaging...
Returning the two that didn't fit was easy with pre-paid shipping labels, and the free shipping both ways is definitely a plus. The best thing is that although they can't refund you, a gift card usable on amazon.com, endless.com or myhabit.com is definitely useful so it's not like you're stuck with $x and have to find things to buy on other sample sites (one of the reasons I took a chance). They issued the credit very quickly too after receiving the item.
Everthing is sold out in seconds, unless you want to pay $125 for a pair of designer childrens jeans. I've been watching this site for weeks & have even been on a few times right when deals go live & have not been lucky. This site is terrible.
Unfortunately, I have not been able to buy anything from this site... everything (for kids) is instantly gone. I go on the site at 9am PST each day. It is very frustrating to say the least! They must only have 10 of each item... what a waste of time!
DO NOT BUY! They do not give you your money back! They give you a gift card to use on their same website!
My sister told me about MyHabit... so now I man my emails to see what's going on sale. I like the clean look of the website, and the best part is that most of the items that go on sale are modeled in videos. That way you can see the outfit on the model in motion. Yeah so we're not 5 feet 10,120 pounds, but at least you can see how the fabric flows. I ordered a couple of Juice Couture leggings last week, and they arrived TODAY, unlike Gilt, which takes FOREVER. There's free shipping to and from, and I was able to apply a $10 intro coupon. Also, if you have an Amazon account, you automatically are a member of MyHabit.
Myhabit is a excellent website that will give Gilt a run for it's money. First the shipping terms are amazing. Free shipping both ways. 21 days to return. The site is innovative because they have videos that allow you to see how a dress or outfit flows as someone moves. So often you see a picture of a product and you wonder how it would fit on you since you can't gage the accessories on real models. Myhabit solves this problem by putting the the purse or necklace on real people and you can see how long, how big is on real people.
The selection is very comparable to Gilt in selection of brand names. Dolce and Gabanna, Badgley Michka, Juice Couture and more.
The best part is if you still don't like it when you get it you get your money back or you get amazon credit to buy from millions of other items they sell.
Not impressed at all. I have been using Gilt and this just seems like amazon trying to do the same thing. Do we really need another big company like amazon who knows nothing of fashion or style trying to get rid of Companies like Gilt that made their name because of their fashion expertise? I hope myhabit fails and Gilt wins this war.
I just got an email from Amazon about this site, that Sarah also reviewed. Oh goodness gracious, yet another one of these designer brands for discounted prices sites - this one might blow Gilt, HauteLook, ideeli, Rue La La out of the water as it's owned by the all-powerful, all-wonderful Amazon (yeah, I said it - a corporation is wonderful - dude, I got Jane Eyre for free the other day, within seconds, through these guys). I took a little looksy though I couldn't possibly afford the goods even at discounted prices, and there were some major winners. It's tempting not to place an order just to see if I can upgrade my cool rating to love. If anyone tries this site, please do tell!
Gilt has been one of my new favorite sites for awhile now. They do have their issues with returns as all you get is store credit. Amazon just seems to be copying Gilt with their new website myhabit.com which I read about in the Times here
http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/05/03/amazon-enters-the-flash-sale-fray-with-myhabit/
The only real difference is the return policy. Since myhabit.com is just amazon, when you return something if you do not like it you get Amazon store credit. To me that is far more valuable than Gilt just giving me Gilt store credit. I can buy pretty much anything I need on amazon and so will feel much better making my purchases.
Answer: Hi Patty. I got someone on the line but I just want to put it out there the facts regarding return policy. Make sure you have the right phone number and order number with you when you call. I just don't think it's fair not be able to return the item when it still has a tag on and never worn. 14 day window to return the item is really short. I do like the thins I can buy through them, brand things with discount prices.
Answer: Where's my return?
Answer: I have been shopping with Myhabit for years (about 21/2) and have never had a problem that couldn't be resolved. I have found many designer items: Jay Godfrey, Valentino, Michael Kors, Trina Turk, Sam Edelman, Nha Khan and many others and they have ALL been authentic. The prices are very good from 60-80% off, some items of course are more than others, delivery is generally within 4 days and refunds are available within 14 days (method you paid by or credit) and customer service has been excellent. I have read the reviews from other customers but have never rec'd fake products or had a problem with a refund. Customer service has allowed me to refund items that are not refundable if there are any product issues. FYI Amazon prime members start shopping@ 8:30 as opposed to everyone else at 9:00am PST. Best way to use the site is to select an item that you like and add it to your "cart" the item remains for 15 minutes. Use this time to look online to see if this is the best price for the item. I have found a better price about 10% of the time. If you do have a problem, those chat lines work best and the customer service reps are generally very helpful. Even though they are owned by Amazon, Myhabit has better prices on exact items. Now shop! Hope this helps and I'm not the easiest consumer to deal with if there are problems.
Answer: I have read several responses from folks who purchased "name brand" items and were disappointed to learn that they were copies.
Answer: Whatever you purchase from that site, compare prices at other sites and be vigilant about the quality.
