Do NOT use to sell your devices
March 28, 2024

Sent my IPhone 12 to be sold with them, as they offered more than the shops in my town, graded 'good' as the only issue was 4 small scratches on the front and a battery health of 79%. First of all, your tracked delivery is only tracked to their local depot, NOT their address which is not clear.

I had an offer for £69 due to heavy cosmetic wear, which I was baffled at, and so I requested the phone to be returned to me. I received the phone and noticed quite a lot of scratches on my screen that wasn't there prior. I took this to the phone shops again and each one has now said my phone is worth about £85 when they originally all quoted me £150-£170. Thankfully a couple of the guys remembered me and I explained the situation and they had said that this has happened to a few other people, they come in for a quote, music magpie beat them toon a quote and they then grade it Lower when they get the phone. When it's returned it's damaged. Thankfully my phone turns on but the scratches are so visible and have now left my phone pretty much worthless. I have asked for compensation otherwise I will be taking this further. Do NOT use them.

DO NOT BUY A PRODUCT FROM MUSIC MAGPIE, THEY ARE THIEVES.
I ordered & paid for a mobile phone over 2 weeks ago and have still not received the phone.
Everytime I ring music magpie I am told the the matter will be escalated and I will hear back within 48hrs, I never hear back from them.

Now they use EVRI ( Hermes), the deliveries are hit and miss at best, poorly packaged and sometimes delivered to the wrong address.
The utilise Zendesk, so any complaints get default replies that often blame the customer, not them.
Avoid at all costs.

Sent them a iPhone 14 (worth £330) claimed that they have 'lost' the phone and then knocked me down to £150, even though Royal Mail have delivered the phone. I provided Music Magpie with proof of purchase and proof of postage. I was willing to cut my losses with Music Magpie to save a battle however I received an email from Music Magpie stating that I had committed fraudulent activity and they will not pay out. If anyone has committed FRAUD it is MUSIC MAGPIE. AWFUL COMPANY, AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Reported to trading standards! By the looks of things, I am not the only person they have done this to!

Music Magpie are scum!
February 19, 2024

Music Magpie are a bunch of un accountable corrupt bozos. You'll notice they don't have a customer service number or even a chat bot on their site, how convenient. They did not send the money through for an iPhone I sent through the post and then made out that it was my fault and claimed there was nothing they could do. They are scum and should be avoided at all costs. I wish I had something nice to say and this gives me no joy but honestly, stay as far away from dealing with them as humanly possible.

Decided to "sell" all my CDs and DVD's as I don't watch or listen to them any more.
Decided to use MM as a job lot and started scanning away.
Pretty shocked at how low their offers were but with so many items being scanned the amounts were adding up.
As I scanned and accepted I checked the items were clean and all in order.
I packed them up and posted and waited.
Within a short time I got a notification that the money was in my bank.
Wow, I was impressed……until I checked.
OMG, it was so much less than they had offered.
The comments were that discs were missing. This is not true! It is a possibility that I missed a disc out of a double disc CD but that was only one.
They said that some discs were non original……what? They were all originals.
Ok if you don't want them and aren't paying me, I will have them back please?
Oh no! They have been "recycled" really?
BAD!

Apple Watch Series 5
February 11, 2024

We purchased a series 5 Apple Watch back in May 2023 for my autistic sons birthday. A few months passed and the watch was fine. My son stopped using it and the watch wasn't being used and was left in his desk for a month or two.

I decided to now use the watch for myself as my son didn't want to use it for himself. I turned the watch on and erased all data back to the standard factory settings. This is where it all goes horribly wrong!

I was unable to setup/activate the Watch, as it had been locked by the previous owner. It was asking us to login with a I.D we didn't recognise (it shows you part of the ID email address and in this instance it was B*****@icloud.com).

Obviously I got straight onto Music Magpie whom after a few emails (which took forever!) agreed that it was their fault and were apologetic. They said to send the watch back to them for a full refund (unable to use the watch as it was essentially now locked to the previous owner). I sent the watch back.

I've just awoken to an email from Music Magpie this morning stating that they have looked at the watch and have noticed that the IMEI number isn't the same as the one that they originally sent out to us and will be sending the watch back to us……

I am genuinely shocked, as this watch IS the SAME watch that they had originally sent to us back in May 2023. THEY have obviously made a mistake OR they are just using this as an excuse to not pay out, as they will be £175 out of pocket.

So it's ok for us to be £175 out of pocket is it?

I have asked for proof from the dispatch note that was dated from when they originally sent the watch to us. In the meantime I'm contacting Trading Standards and also legal action as this is so wrong on so many levels.

Stay clear of Music Magpie. They are modern pirates with awful values and morals.

IPhone stolen
January 25, 2024

I ordered an iPhone 13 Pro package, and it has arrived, but unfortunately, there was no phone inside it. It seems like the phone has been stolen, and MusicMagpie is taking no responsibility for it. I had to take the issue to PayPal to find a resolution. In my opinion, it is best to stay clear of MusicMagpie as they are a clearly fraudulent company.

I bought a refurb phone but it stopped working soon after. I returned it and they sent a replacement that wasn't the same quality and missing its charger. The customer service is email only, they just send templates in replies and conversations go round in circles. Not using them again!

This is the worst tech company I've ever encountered.

They are completely incompetent. I ordered and Apple Watch with a black strap that was advertised as being in pristine condition. However, I received a watch with a dirty marked white strap. They claim they do 70 checks on each watch, but this is clearly nonsense as they didn't even check the colour or condition of the strap.

As well as being incompetent, their returns policy is unethical. They wouldn't refund the delivery cost as they said the delivery arrived on time so they didn't have to refund the delivery - even though the item they sent me wasn't what I ordered!

Overall - terrible customer service, and the items they sell don't match the descriptions on their site. Do yourself a favour and save yourself the stress by shopping with a reputable retailer.

MusicmagPie offered a lucrative price to get me to send my phone to them, phone was sent in full working order (I have image proof), a false assessment was done and new offer of £73.50 (original offer £260) was offered due to 'heavy cosmetic wear'. Phone was received back broken, unable to switch on. The following day the device was brought to Apple (have a report/proof of this) who said (in the eyes of the maker and supplier) the phone has NO cosmetic damage, Apple also ran tests and said hardware had been broken or removed from the phone. Reported to MusicmagPie who now completely ignore me. Reported to trading standards and Ombudsman and now starting legal proceedings. The money is irrelevant, what matters is me, as an individual, if I stole something or damaged someones property this would be a crime and I would be held accountable, and so companies like this need to be held to the same accountability.

Refurbished? Be cautious
September 17, 2023

Up to now I've been impressed with MM, but having just bought an 128gb iphone 11 in 'pristine condition' I would urge caution on their refurbished products. The outer case and screen is indeed spotless, fine, but - the battery health is down to 80%, which is a critical level, after which a new battery should be considered as it can start to affect performance of the phone. It may stay at that level for another 6 months, but conversely it may drop next week, which at about £75 for a new battery is not what I expected from MM. Sorry MM, I'd just really like to see you guys stay on top of your game and not settle for a "That'll do" mentality. Even your offer of a new battery under the 12 month warranty is of little value because of my duties, as I can't afford to be without a phone
