After a year of waiting to purchase a home from Mr. Cooper they declined my offer. How I don't know but I do know I'm in a legal contract. They put the house back on the market and took someone else offer. They did this before the second lien holder approved my amount. Talk about fraudulent activities, so I filed a civil lawsuit. I'm going to let the legal system fight for me and my children. How can you do someone with a illness like that but they did they didn't care. Now they trying to pressure me into signing a mutual cancellation agreement, I didn't agree to anything, but thanks I do look forward to seeing them in court.

I have been trying to refinance for over 3 months. I have gone to upper management and nothing ever goes through. NOBODY there communicates with you. When you get their attention, they just ask for more documents and stall even longer. It is really sad that when you have a current mortgage with them, you can't even get through the red tape. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE! I know 3 other people dealing with the same thing.

Stay away!
September 23, 2020

Mr. Cooper used our escrow account to pay someone else's hazard insurance. They admitted their error, but 4 months later, there's still no refund to our account. We cannot refinance now because of the negative escrow balance we now have due to their error. We were told a check was sent and they went as far as giving us a check number, but the check never arrived. We have made numerous calls and sent emails, but they are no longer communicating with us. This is fraudulent and wrong! STAY AWAY FROM MR. COOPER!

Refinance
September 22, 2020

This is absolutely the most unprofessional company. They call, email ect. Wanting to refinance your home
That they already have the note on. They will not return calls. They will access your credit without a completed loan app. Then see you have a almost 800 credit score and tell you They can't count one income due to the fact that person is self employed. This is pure and simply Discrimination at its finest. And this was not even a have to refinance. My opinion is to find a reputable and Decent company that values your business. We talk about keeping the small businesses up and going in America
But I guess Mr. Cooper and his company does not agree with this.

Incompetent thieves
September 18, 2020

Our loan was sold to mr Cooper right away and it's been drama ever since. The borrower isn't allowed to pay their own bills, which is normal of course, but Mr Cooper won't pay them properly either! So we ended up going back and forth for months trying to get it sorted out and then once we thought it was resolved they suddenly decided that they had paid the insurance twice and charged us a chunk of extra money! I chatted with them and called, but there was no convincing them that it was their error.
That's what happened last year. Now this year they still haven't even attempted to pay the insurance and it's due in just over a week. With so little time, if they mess it up again I won't have time to try to fix everything before the payment is late again.

They also would have missed a tax bill if I hadn't been nervous about them messing it up and notified them that they were missing one ahead of time.

I can't even contact them on their website anymore, the message center won't load on my phone or computer. Their page to update insurance information says it finds multiple properties when I put our information in and then when I put the loan number in it says our loan doesn't exist.

What a stressful mess.

We have had no problems in making payments online to Mr. Cooper. However, my only withdrawal from using MrCooper was this their support for the destruction of businesses, Black, Brown and White by BLM. I cannot in all conscience support any company the puts their dollars toward Marxism and Racism in my country. Their service is adequate, but if not for their support for the destruction of my country I will not support it. Thus, Mr Cooper becomes not part of the "solution", but rather part of the problem.

Unfortunately was sold to this incompetent company. First error, they misapplied a principal payment. It took me writing to the corporate office to get it corrected. Then the correction was wrong, I had to write again to get the correction corrected. Then my boss's mortgage got sold to them. He had a huge issue with Mr. Cooper not paying his home owners. I pay on time every month with extra to the principal. I get a notice from my Homeowners that i am being cancelled. I have never been late for any payment. I called Mr. Cooper on 9/4. I was told the check was sent 7/31! REally? They would not give me or my insurance company a check number. I asked to have another check cut and Fedexed and to email me the fedex #. I was told they don't email. Anyone that has Mr. Cooper knows they get 10 emails a week with BS. I asked her to call me. Today -- A WEEK LATER, my homeowners emailed me to let me know that they don't have the payment yet (9/11). I haven't heard from Mr. Cooper on the check # or fedex #. Oh and Mr. Cooper told me they have this problem over and over again due to COVID and the Post office being slow. They are LIARS. I get all of my other bills == their bill is on time every month. Only thing they can't get on time is their clients Homeowner's payments. I now have to send a payment to keep my homeowners. I wrote to the Attorney General, BBB, and looking at other agencies. What I need to do is start a class action suit. I posted this on Facebook and they deleted it. MR COOPER IS AS SKETCHY AS THE DAY IS LONG! STAY AWAY. Also, I have emailed, Tony Ebers, Jay Bray, Steve Covington, and Glenn Onstad. They are the top execs and the Board Member... They have yet to respond! Whole organization is totally useless.

The worst
September 11, 2020

Hello. I need help with this mistake that has been plaguing my life for months.

Mr. Cooper claimed that I had late payments on my mortgage on 1107 Varela street, Key West, Florida *******. This is not true because I set up automatic bill pay with Bank of America, which pays Mr. Cooper each month. I ended up paying three weeks in advance which was mistaken as a late payment.

On May 25th I paid for the month of June. This was thought to be a late payment for May, even though I paid on time for May. I ended up paying a $40 late fee. I had another issue because my payment date was switched to the 1st and when I paid on the 31st for the next month, they thought it was a late payment. Eventually after paying $40 a month in late fees I paid Mr. Cooper $2,600. After all of this confusion, frustration and wasted money I switched my payment to the third of the month. I'm trying to prevent this from happening again.

I have never been late on a payment and I have continued to pay on time each month despite what Mr. Cooper's statements may say. I have the records from Bank of America proving my payments have been made. I've included this to further shed light on this situation.

Through this mistake, my credit score has been ruined. Before this misunderstanding my credit score was over 800. Now I am struggling to refinance my house because of Mr. Cooper's lack of attention to details. I am stuck paying Mr. Cooper because of his carelessness.

I have worked very hard my whole life to build my credit score to what it was. I've never paid late on anything, and you can see that in my records. Now my 78 years of building my credit is ruined by Mr. Cooper's mistakes. I am so distraught.

I really need this corrected soon so I can take advantage of the low interest rates. I am trying to give my children the best inheritance I possibly can. Thank you for your time and efforts.

SCAM
September 10, 2020

This company is a complete scam. They got caught steeling money in the past. They are still the same company, doing business as "Mr. Cooper". Please investigate before trusting a company with, what is most of ours largest investment. Our fight has just begun, because we will get the money they have stolen. Be WARNED, you will be the next victim. The lawsuits and reviews are all out there. Unfortunately, we have no say who our loans get sold to. But, new buyers and those looking to refinance you do have a choice.

When I first got my home loan, I was told that I didn't need flood insurance. I got my loan sold to Mr. Cooper, and although the contract didn't change, and my propertie's FEMA flood zone didn't change, they decided to buy flood insurance for me. This randomly happened after being with them for a year. That drained over $1,300 from my escrow, and they planned to do so YEARLY for something I did not need. I refinanced with a different company, who instantly knew I didn't need flood insurance, and dropped my rate by over 2% for a like loan (Streamlined FHA). Going away from these thieves was a great decision, and I'll NEVER go back.

We purchased our first home from Veterans United Home Loans with a 3.253% and then transferred us to mr cooper with a 5.125% interest rate with good credit. VUHL will pass you down to this mortgage company 3 days after purchasing a house. Our first monthly mortgage bill was $1800, and when mr cooper took over, our monthly payment doubled! After 1.10 years living at our home, we were in default. We contacted my fellow veteran agent, and decided to sell the house. We sold our house less than 2 years. (2018-2020). And got my house buying benefits back. We look forward to buying an another house next year, this time not going with VUHL and through mr cooper. Stay away from both these guys, and do your homework prior buying/signing!

Citi mortgage sold our mortgage to these guys a few years ago. We tried to do a non cash back refi, to lower our payments, but they drag their feet for soooooooooooooo long and they have TERRIBLE communication. Our rate lock expired, they started over again and then had the nerve to tell me that my 540.00 appraisal had to be "updated" and they wanted me to re-send all of the bs paperwork that I had already sent twice! Srew that! I'm done!

Horrible experience
September 4, 2020

My original loan processor sold my account to this awful company. In the process, they stopped paying my property taxes somehow, and it took nearly 3 months to get them to correct it. A few months later they called and offered a rate reduction loan. Simple enough. 30 day estimated turn around has now been more than 60. They do not return calls or emails. They do not provide updates on what is taking so long, other than "we are really busy", and they repeatedly ask for items that have been provided, that are still sitting in their queue which even I can see on their website. These clowns are a joke and not worth the time. Stick with a company that cares about the customer.

It shouldn't take a pandemic, but during these troubling times is when a company's true color shines. If it weren't for Mr. Cooper we would have lost our home. They have bent over backwards to help us keep our home. Their staff is caring and their work-out programs are designed to help people and their willingness to work with us is a great attribute. We have currently missed six months of house payments and their first question when I call is "Is my family staying safe"! If I could give more than five stars I would!

They are so rude
August 25, 2020

I'm on ssdi not by my choice my injury changed my life. And when bank of america sold my loan to mr cooper my payments went from 532 a month to 732 a month. I asked if they would move my payment date to the 27th and this way I can make the payment. They said make two payments and then you can make the change yourself and then they knocked off the fees jumped my house up to 832 a month. They are very ungrateful. I hate mr. Cooper they suck..
