I am beyond disappointed with Mr. Cooper! I work as a first responder and due to COVID have been working around the clock and happened to miss my payment for the month of May, as soon as I got a notification on my credit score I immediately made the full payment of the month of May including late fees and well as the month of June. I was instructed to send an email to request a pardon since this was the one and only time this has ever happened. I sent an email on July 8th and didn't hear anything back until August 10th where they were requesting an additional 15 days to come with a decision after 45 days I follow up again and to my surprised despite everything going on they denied my request. I am grateful I decide to sell my house so I can make this payment in full and never ever use this company again! I will be posting this review everywhere I possibly can as this company does NOT care for its customer not even in times like this!

Incompetent service.
August 23, 2020

I pay my mortgage every other week and each time one of the payments is misapplied to principal only. I must call when I catch the mistake and each time I'm told my hierarchy will be changed. I NEVER is. The customer service reps either don't know what they're talking about or very poorly trained that they mislead their customers giving them bad information knowing there's no accountability. My loan was fine until being sold to Mr Cooper. Avoid if possible.

I had been receiving come-on's from Mr. Cooper for months regarding refinance rates, and although they held my mortgage, I had a real problem reaching them. Until one day I called the complaint line, and the woman connected me to a mortage profesional- Shawn Kent, from Irving Texas. Who promised me a quick turnaround and no issues and a savings of over $250/ mo on my investment property... Bull$#it!
After 2 months and countless emails and information scanned or requested from my accountant and sent to them and everything satisfied and my continually asking if there was anything else that they might need so I could send it to them promptly and satisfy the request... they call me on the phone and tell me just 2 days before the rate-lock expires, they cannot provide the loan because they cannot verify my foreign debts.
I have no foreign debts! If I had foreign debts, I would have revealed them in my numerous tax documents and income statements and investment income and tax returns.
These people are SCUM of the earth, and have no scruples, and will do anything to fleece you of your money and not help you despite saying they are "Here for you, willing to provide you with everything you need for your home finance",
Do NOT Believe anything anyone at MR Cooper says, Especially Shawn -Lying through his teeth -- Kent,
There is nothing Mr Cooper can do that another mortgage company cannot do better.
If you have the choice, DO NOT do business with these scoundrels, they will lie, cheat, and steal, your money and laugh all the way to the bank.

Not even a last resort
August 21, 2020

This is the wort company ive ever dealt with in my life. If you have other options, use them. I applied for a home equity loan and waited 3 and a half months and still not finished with no end in sight. My loan processor was rude, childish, problematic, unprofessional, and insulting. She waited a month for job verification, which shouldnt take more than 24 hours, 72 hours at the most, she never notified me. I waited weeks for responses from emails and voicemails and when she finally did contact me it was about something else, she never once answered any of my questions not 1 of them, ever. She made me supply the same documents to her twice, she didnt know the basics of my loan and situation, i mean the very basics. I tried to call her manager to complain about her, i called 10 times over a 3 week period and left a voicemail every time and never once did her manager acknowledge me or return my call. So i called her supervisor several times, never once did she return my call. Avoid mr cooper at all cost. Every day was hell trying to deal with them.

Bad business practices
August 20, 2020

Mr. Cooper added 5 months into our mortgage without my husband and I knowing. We have forbarred on it due to Covid and the payment to bring our mortgage current is due in September. Not only did they add on 5 months but because we forbarred they raised our mortgage payment and tacked on fees.

Horrible service
August 20, 2020

Mr Cooper called me May 24 and stated it was a good time to refi my loan. Today is August 19 and final had my closing day schedule but 2 hours before I get a call that the loan processor forgot a document so we could not close. The loan processor Shvante Birdow is the worst. She never returned any emails or phone calls. I had to track down a manager which took until July for a return call. I shared with him all the negative reviews I was reading and he assured me that wouldn't happen. But here we are today with the same problem as 300 other people. I'm starting the process of doing a refi with someone else
They crazy thing they called me to start this process.

The worst ever
August 13, 2020

I have been in the Real estate business for 37 years and have yet to deal with a worse mortgage lender. Deadlines mean nothing, never a call back. This company was given 52 days to close a deal, we were promised 7 days before closing that they were ready. They had the buyer sit at the title company for 2 hours before telling them they didn't have a clear to close. Now we are 58 days down the road and everybody has closed but there is no money available. The phone numbers they sent out on the closing instructions don't work. Stay Away.

I paid off my loan and only the principal shows online. I called to see when they would process the refunded amount because the payoff amount was over inflated. Come to find out the phone number is an automated system that transfers you 8 times and you end up in a voice mail box that is full and almost impossible to get to a human being. After 10 tries I responded to the first question, but after that every question I enter 0, and finally got to a service rep. If you have a choice of service providers DO NOT CHOSE MR. COOPER!
YOU WILL REGRET IT AT SOMETIME.

Beginning to closing
August 10, 2020

I should have ran when I first spoke on the phone with mr. Cooper. It was almost impossible for anybody in that company to return a phone call. I went up the line on supervisors and still got virtually no return on a phone call or an email. Most questions went unanswered from the initial paperwork that had to be submitted to the rest of the paperwork to the day of closing. Even the day of closing was a nightmare. I would never recommend mr. Cooper to anybody even if you wanted them to walk your dog because they wouldn't show up they wouldn't walk the dog and they wouldn't know how to walk the dog. I'm in sales for 40 years and I've never counted a company that is so bad.

Mr. Cooper lost my July payment and even when I showed them the proof they received it(the tracking info and their signature) they still refused to take responsibility. Their screw up cost me $196.06 in out of pocket expenses to fix. Yet they have refused to reimburse any of it after lying and saying they would. They haven't so much as apologized for their mistakes and even had the gonads to ding my credit. This company is absolutely a scam and in my opinion is a criminal empire masquerading as a mortgage company. Each and every single person I have talked to at Mr. Cooper has lied to me. I have yet to receive a single call back from "management".

Take my word for it, refinance away from this company.

NEVER. EVER. EVERRRRR. GIVE THEM YOUR CHECKING ACCOUNT INFORMATION.

I recommend everyone on here make complaints to the CFPB, BBB, Yelp and anywhere else public you can find just to get the word out. They need to be shut down before they can victimize anyone else.

My mortgage was sold to these guys a few years ago. They have screwed up my escrow account repeatedly and increase my payment by over $200 a month in barely over a year and I had a fixed rate. Went to refinance earlier this year with them, thinking this would be a quick process since they already had all of my records. They kept asking for new documents, or documents previously sent, days/week would go by and I'd hear NOTHING from them, the timeliness and communication overall was really bad. Then after 4 months... 4 months. They declined by refinance although I had well over 50% equity. They said they'd do the refi after October, when I had more income, which wasn't needed at all! Went with another company the following day, and closed with a lower interest rate in 3 weeks! They just wanted to keep my loan at a much higher interest rate and had no interest in doing whats right for me, their customer! I couldn't be more disappointed in this company! Run from Mr. Cooper!

I recently refinanced with another company. At the beginning of June, I close with that company. A month later I received a letter saying I can potentially face foreclosure over a missing payment. Mr. Cooper never let go of the loan and none of the workers of the other mortgage company were not notified. This company also does not care about your special needs such as receiving a phone call in the native language the borrower speaks. This mistake cost me daily interest for a month.
This issue was recently resolved, but Mr. Cooper made a last-minute change that almost cost me another month of interest.
I am upset that this company does not take into consideration their clients' needs and lack of sympathy during these times. I hope they get better about this matter. I am glad I got out of this company!

Consumer Fraud
July 30, 2020

Had property damage at my home submitted all of the endorsed Checks and paperwork required and going over 2 months and still haven't received my first draft. Calling customer service and being told it's with corporate waiting for action for two months. When I call over and over again to try to speak to a supervisor I am spun and they out right refuse to give contact information for any one in corporate to log a complaint. I will never use this company again and will tell everyone I know what a nightmare my experience has been. I feel like I'm the victim of consumer fraud!

This company has the worst customer service in the world. I've never written a review (bad or good) in my life and this is the first. Now I should've checked these other people's reviews before I started. I tried to refinance for 4 (?!) months and on the very last day of closing I didn't even get a call about it. I called multiple people including my loan officer furiously multiple times, but to no avail. I wasn't able to close and all I got later was an email that said that they're sorry for the miscommunication but would I like to try again.

Their names are: Victoria Chu and Gabrielle Amador. Do not work with these two.

Paid off my mortgage and told them to stop the automatic payment. They did not. I asked for a payoff amount. They sent a letter with the amount that arrive two days after the date that amount expired. Seven days after they were suppose to stop the automatic payment from my bank I was notified it had finally been done. I over paid by about 1500 dollars to be safe and then they got another automatic payment. They owe me about $2500. I asked that it me mailed to me since I did not get a clear payoff amount and they did not stop the automatic payments when requested and when I was told it would be done. I am still waiting for the money I'm owed (30 days now) that a supervisor told me would be mailed to me within a couple of days. Approimately 30 days out I get a letter letting me know they received my payoff. If you can get away from this company do so. Is anyone aware of any class actions against this company. CITI sold my mortgage to this company. I'm letting them know I will never do business with them when they sale people's mortgage to such a dishonest and crooked company. Even in the payoff they still grub for a few dollars.

COVID 19
July 21, 2020

Due to the COVID 19 VIRUS my job in march cut hours. I asked to get help with my mortgage so I wouldn't go into forecloser. I did get help with a FORBEARANCE. I've gotten 2 letters stating i'm behind in my mortagage. If your going to help someone and say yes we will help you don't keep sending out letters stating i'm behind. I know I am that's why I asked for help. People are struggling right now. Mortgages should have been put in the back of the loan. Alexandria Emmer

This company after a year and a half had not got me starting paperwork ALL OVER AGAIN What is their problem here are they just trying to foreclose on peoples houses On purpose? My mother passed away a year and a half ago the mortgage was serviced by Seterus then got sold right as my mother passed away. I've been trying to get the mortgage put into my name since then. Mail Emailed faxed paperwork over and over called Fanny Mae And explained to them the run around I was getting only to be told there's nothing THEY can do. Lawyers don't want to even be bothered with Mr Cooper because they are so bad. I'm at my breaking point we need to start a class action lawsuit against this company. How many people are having the EXACT SAME PROBLEM? Are they just trying to steal my house off what?
My email is *******@oocupholstery.com if anyone can help please let me know your experiences. I'm calling my lawyer again Monday to try and see what can be done. She's already sent them a letter a month and a half ago. PLEASE let me know any info is appreciated.
