I purchased a shift dress. I did not do my due diligence and come here to see other reviews. Now I can add mine and hope no one else falls for this scam of a company. The dress came from Sri Lanka. The quality so poor and the sizing is WAY off. Product looks nothing like the one the happy models are wearing on the site. I have tried several times over this past week to get through to their customer service. I have "submitted" ticket after ticket to no avail. At this point I am thinking I may have to just deal with being ripped off for $35. Horrible company. Will never deal with them again. They are truly practicing deceptive advertising.
The quality and sizing are beyond disappointing. It is close to impossible to return as they only offer 60 percent of the paid price and require you to return the items to CHINA and pay the postal. I could not be more disappointed in this company. I do a lot of on line shopping with US and China based companies and have NEVER had a company treat me so poorly.
This company is clearly one of a number of others selling online from China. The sizes listed will be MUCH smaller than these sizes in the U.S.A. (cannot comment on other countries... sorry). Expect lower quality merchandise because China does not have to conform to manufacturing standards in the U.S. And based on how they manage issues with merchandise, expect a run-around with requirements for YOU to demonstrate (usually via photos or video) as to WHY the product is wrong for you (size or defect). Shipping will be an issue, as well, if you are in the U.S. because it takes 14-21 days for an item to pass through customs on both ends, with 14 being a miracle delivery. Some shipments could take longer.
Plus-size women and those with a standard U.S. women's figure probably have the greatest disadvantage in purchasing anything produced in China for a non-U.S. Market. (Most of our clothing comes from overseas, such as China, Taiwan, etc.) Chinese clothing made in China and not for Western consumption will not be prepared to accommodate the hips, tummy, shoulders and behinds of the average American woman. The Western body shape is different than that of a Chinese woman, who is typically slim of hip, bust, behind and arms.
These clothes are poorly made, horrible quality and take forever to arrive. Look NOTHING like the pictures. Stay away! The two dresses I received went from the mailbox to the garbage can. Not even good enough to donate to a thrift store.
I went out on a limb here, lurred by the prices, but really, what was I thinking. I bought 3 shirts. One was OK but didn't fit as well as it should have. The other two were terrible. Badly sewn, way too small (I ordered a Med and that is what the tag said but it fit like an extra small. Totally a waste of money. Don't do it. I never will again. Buy something of quality.
So, I went out on a limb and ordered something from modlily.com. Don't do it, the site's a total rip-off. I placed the order on 10/25 and it *still* hasn't shipped, but when I asked on 11/9 WTF was going on, I was assured that it would be shipped by 11/11.
I ordered one size up expecting the clothes from China to run small. There chart sizes are way off in US.
I ordered a dress on Oct 15 and after complaining to them 2 weeks later they finally mailed it. Today is Nov. 7 and it is still in transit from China. I will never order from Modlilly again!
Ordered dresses 2 weeks ago that said they ship in 24 hours. They are still processing. I think it's a scam! Find another place to shop. Wish I had read reviews before ordering
I waited with great anticipation. The wait was not to long. I am sorely disappointed in the quality of my garment. The fabric has a soft silky feel, that's nice, however, it does not appear that it will hold up to washing(no matter, how gentle). I was also disappointed at the weight of the material, it is rather thin, see through and very flimsy. Perhaps the most annoying aspect is the length of the garment, it is billed as a maxi dress. The front barely falls below my knees, the back barely reaches mid-thigh. This garment was purchased for me by my husband at my request, now I don't even want to wear it. I doubt if I will make anymore purchases from mod-lily. I believe I can match this garment with boots to make it work. Oh, by the way, the color was the most disappointing aspect of all. I had already planned how to really make a statement with this garment paired with garments already in my possession. That won't be working out.
I ordered a red wine coloured dress but it is only the size of a short top nothing like in the picture where it's just above the knee. I could wear it as a blouse but it is 3 sizes too small.
They offered me compensation of US$7 and said it would cost me too much to return it for exchange.

The S-L-O-W shipping might be worth the wait if you were getting a great deal on some nice clothes; but this is over-priced Dollar Store merchandise. "Item not as pictured or described" is an understatement: the "wine" colored dress I ordered turned out to be a garish orangy red, poorly made of cheap fabric, and the sizing is so far off that, even if I decided I might wear this ugly crap in public, I couldn't. The only thing different in my review of the 2nd dress is that the color is slightly closer to the described/pictured color. Neither is wearable. Returns: too much of an ordeal. Don't believe the website pictures /descriptions! Save your money!
I placed an order for one tunic top to test out the company and process. The top arrived within two weeks and looks exactly like the photos. I normally wear a size 6 (US) so ordered a size Large, understanding that the sizing runs extremely small. The fit is perfect for me (as I am small-chested). The quality of the fabric is fine for casual wear, but at $24 ncluding shipping from China, that is as expected. Overall, I would order again, but one does need to understand that for these prices, we're not getting high-quality but rather trendy clothing at a very low price.
I ordered a dress, was charged for it, but never received it. The order email had a service website. When I went to that site to submit at ticket it kept saying I had an invalid order number and would not let me submit a ticket. The phone number listed does not work. Do not order from this company.
I placed and paid for my order before I read the reviews so I thought I'd lost my money. However, to my delight and surprise my orders arrived in just over one week and were exactly as ordered. Unfortunately I usually by stretch garments so these were a little tight $#*! the fabric was woven and not stretch. I'll leave them for end of summer when I've lost a little more weight. But I'm thrilled and going back on line to place another order.
Dont do Bussiness with this company unless you are desperate. They will not do returns, they pretend like they are a computer (that doesn't communicate well in English) & ping pong messages back and forth. The clothing is poorly made material that doesn't ever fit well, look right or last long. Bye bye modlily. Never again.
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. TOOK WEEKS TO GET PRODUCT THEN IT DOESN'T FIT, ONE SLEEVE LONGER THAN THE OTHER AND COLOR IS WAY OFF. IT IS ALSO POORLY MADE. THIS COMPANY GETS ZERO STARS.
No Star Rating! I would not recommend this site. Sizing was way off. Won't give me address to return and offered only 30% credit. Nearly a week of emails and they still havent resolved refund. Last msg says we will dispatch order asap? What Order? Do not buy from Modlily. Wish is a very good site and cheaper. Refund happily and you do not have to return item.

Answer: You probably received same aweful material that I did but different color and design! My top was advertised as 95% cotton. Modlily LIED. I received a unbelievably ugly top in polyester. I wouldnt give it away to my worst enemy. I ordered through Paypal who has a new division solely dedicated to Modlily returns and complaints! Paypal will get my money back and I will be posting all over the interner to warn people of these chinese thieves!
