They charged my card and never sent my PC wheel. I even got an arrival date! I called 3 weeks later and they say the order was canceled the same day(!?) They now had them in stock but would not honor the original price. What a terrible experience! I have shopped Amazon and eBay 400 times and never experienced such incompetence.
Like this service and the way they treat their customers. They offer savings up to $150. That's so weird for the quality that is good enough.
The Chicago location is very good for supplies such as paper and ink. However, when I took my laptop in for diagnosis and repair they initially said it would be ready in 2 days. When I went in to pick it up they had not started working on it yet. The next week they called me and said they needed to order a part. It was 3 weeks later before they had it done. The same problem recurred just over 2 months later and they said there was only a 60 DAY WARRANTY ON PARTS AND SERVICE!
Hi Mary,
So sorry this happened, I just came across your review. If you had the same issue happen 2 months later, we actually have a 90 day warranty on parts and service so I apologize you were given incorrect information. Can you email me further details to [email protected]? I will see how we can assist you.
Thanks,
James

Good in terms of pricing and delivery times but has a small minus - I sometimes had to return some parts as the quality was inappropriate :(
Micro Center has good prices and services and was helpful while building my PC and buying all of the parts.
Jim Rhodes went way beyond the call of duty. Thank you Jim. You really took the pain out of repairing a new printer
A site to get everything in one place. I`ve bought a home pc here. Arrived in time and with extensive packaging, so everything went fine.

My brother in law told me to take a look at this webiste and order my new PC from there. I listened his advice and I did not regret

I have had several experiences with Micro Trend and all have been positive. It's nice to have a store that you can trust.

I am not a huge electronics person, but they always seem to have what I am looking for. My boyfriend frequently goes here for bits and pieces and they always have what he needs. He helped a friend build his own computer from purchases here, and it was very affordable. Some things I feel they are a little overpriced on, but for the most part it is very reasonable. And I enjoy the atmosphere and selection more here than at some other electronics chain stores.
Great prices and knowledgeable staff. In store is great place to buy.
I build systems for myself and having a local business that stocks just about everything you could want for computer tinkering is awesome! I have had good luck buying new and refurbished/ returned laptops there too.
This happened to me at the Marietta, GA MicroCenter store. On 10/27 in the evening, I went to the store looking for cables or adapters to connect a monitor with DVI output to a laptop with VGA input. I am not computer savvy and have a slight idea on what I need, but do not know the actual names for the inputs and outputs from the monitor to the laptop. I found an employee without a name tag and ask if he worked at the store, his cocky, taunting and insulting response was Last time I checked, I still work here." By the tone of the response, I expected this to be an awful experience with this employee, but needed the adapters. I tried to explain in many ways what I needed, expecting a little help or hints form the employee, he just nodded impatiently shaking his head from side to side and breathing hard, responding that I needed to be more specific and that such things do not exist, there are several types and he could not help if I was not specific. I asked if he can show what they have. The further obfuscated and employee visibly upset and shaking his head, goes to a terminal, opens google and looks for certain adapters. I tell him by the images what my monitor cable looks like and how the port in my laptop looks like and I ask him what I exactly need. The employee now was visibly angry, goes through several shelves to pick up some items and handing them over to me. Once he gave me about 3 items, I decided to ask him about his behavior and lack of customer service by asking: "Are you always this friendly and patient with customers?" his response was: "well there are some people..." to what I replied: "I am one of those people... The employee interrupts me and with his index finger pointing towards me touches me in the chest with a slight push/shove in a threatening manner. I reacted telling him: "did you just touch me? Oh no you don't "and I started looking for a manager, just having time to briefly explain about the physical altercation with the employee. The employee followed me to the office and since I did not feel comfortable ant threatened in the same space, I decided to leave the store, get in my car and call the store to speak with the manager on duty, explaining in detail the above and requesting that this be seen in the security cameras. The manager who I spoke stated that she would escalate to the general manager via an e-mail and that if I can be contacted. I gave her my contact information but requested that this information not be shared below a manager level, as I felt threatened and insulted inside the store. I have never experiences this in a store before and here in this country, no one, I mean no one touches anyone like this and this manner.
The employees description, about 5.9inch Caucasian, limps and has a spikey hairdo, looks to be about in his 50's.
Very good selection with decent prices for a retail store. But truly, since most of the stock they carry is available mail order for 25%-50% less, its hard to imagine buying anything unless (1) you need it immediately, or (2) you plan on returning it.
I've also had a problem with a discourteous salesperson. Suffice to say that they are not ALL as customer-friendly as one might hope. If it was just one, I wouldn't mention it, but its happened several times. The common problem is that they seem to think they are the experts and all customers are ignorant. Ahhh. But I'm not ignorant, and probably know a lot more about the technology than they do in some cases. More than once, asking about a detail in the technical specifications has gotten me a snippy response. In such cases, I take it that they either don't know or the answer (if they gave it) would be a negative.
But they beat the prices and selection available in local department stores. So, if I desperately need a new memory card, I might get it at Micro Center. Or, if its a price-fixed item like one of the Apple products, Micro Center might be the best bet. That just doesn't happen very often for me.
Sorry Richard. Did you get your refund? Please email me at [email protected] with further information including your order information and I will see what happened.
Thanks,
James
