I bought an Omega Swatch to the Moon from their website adn when i finally got it. It was a fake. The box was different the watch color was different,labels on the box were mispeled. DO NOT USE THIS on the WEBSITE. They sell fake stuff. I have tried to return a fake watch sold through their platform, but they want me to spend more money proving the item is fake. I send them pictures for a watch that is reall vs. the fake one i got from them...proving that the watch is fake. Yet they want me to spend more money on proving it s fake. The box on watch has mispelling...are you serious guys. Swatch does not have mispelling on their label. This is ridiculous. This website is ridiculous and a scam. Save your money they dont authenticate their items like other platforms. DO NOT USE MERCARI...It s a Scam and their customer service is terrible...i am will never buy from this website and you should not either...STAY AWAY...
I purchased an item from a seller but when it was delivered, it was severely damaged. The seller has been cooperative BUT mercari has been more than impossible. I want to return the item, the seller has agreed, but no information can be gotten from mercari for a return. And don't even try to call them. Press 6, press 92, press 64, press 39, goodbye. They don't want you to call PayPal with a problem; they emial you "Call us first." My question: Why? You won't do anything, you offer no help. And I'm out $500.00. DON'T DO IT. YOU'LL BE SO VERY SORRY IF YOU HAVE TO RETURN SOMETHING

It is IMPOSSIBLE to recieve any type of customer support unless the question is already listed. They also only offer "Live Chat" in regard to technical support but you have to pay for it. I Finally found a customer service number by calling the wrong company. But, oh joy, they don't have customer support in this area (Houston - 4th largest city in the US).

I was selling on the platform for 3 years. Recently I reactivated my account, the process is a pain... It took them 2 weeks to help out. I posted a Chanel Necklace, I got an email stating someone reported it as fake. I have been selling luxury item on the platform, never had this happened. Moreover it is a 100% real item. I emailed customer service, they said intellectual l team will reach out to me. No one did and it has been a month. I emailed them again, no responds. This platform is ridiculous- if you took someone advice that the item is not real, at least provide reason. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AND THEY ONLY BIAS BUYER.
I ordered a Nespresso espresso maker. It looked in a good condition on Mercari website's picture. However when i i got it.
1. it was poorly unprofessional packaged.
2. it was dirty with coffee grinds and coffee stain all over the place. I cleaned and cleaned.
3. the milk frothier cleaning light is on every time I used the machine after extensively cleaning and descaling. It light up no matter what. Such defect was not mentioned on it's website.
4. Meicari has near zero customer services. Eventaully they emailed me back after 24 hrs. Then I was told all sale is final after 72 hrs of delivery. No return period! Really? I don't expect everyone is like amazon but 72 hrs I barely had time to clean it and sent emails. I wasted $300 on this machine.
5. lesson to learn, Please do not order anything from Mercari!
The customer service is worse than Poshmark. They take less of a % but it's not worth dealing with the incompetent customer service in my opinion. They took down a listing I had that was warning others of someone scamming people on the site. They don't care because either way, they make money.
No sure how this site is legal. It is ran by bots. You realize this as soon as you run into a problem.

BE CAREFUL EVERYBODY WITH THIS CAVE OF SCAMMERS. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY.
If your package is damaged by postal they will automatically say insufficient packaging to prevent you from being credited your money. So you lose your time effort and receive your product in a worse state than before. Never use their labels. Always use your own so you can claim it yourself. Mercarri has alot of vague and specific unrealistic packaging requirements to prevent crediting your money even though your packaging was great and you have 5 stars with many reviews. This company does not care about their sellers. The fees are waayy too high now.
AVOID THEM! Mercari offers virtually no support for their customers. They're impossible to reach. I was sent an older iPad than the one advertised and when I asked for a return (the next day!), I had to wait several days for them to respond. They said it was too late. Meanwhile, they're allowing sellers to market fraudulent products on their site. They don't care, as long as they get their cut. There are so many other good sites to buy and sell products. Avoid Mercari if you value your sanity and your pocketbook.
I ordered TV ears from a seller on Mercari paying $42 for the item said to work. It doesn't work at ALL, and after THREE days, I can't return the item or get my money back. Worse, after 3 days, Mercari reviews the seller FOR ME with 5 stars. Either the seller lied that the item "works well," or the shipping killed the item. Either way, defective items should be able to be returned. The blurb to sell the item said it was returnable, but obviously that isn't true either. I'm very disheartened that Mercari is so unfriendly to those to whom they sell.
I sold my Dior b23 hoodie and it was delivered to the buyer this past Saturday afternoon. They buyer received the hoodie and before he or she could accept the order my account was closed. I never got paid for the item I sold. The buyer has it and it's not like I'm at the point where I could intercept any package. I sold this hoodie to pay for groceries and bills. I'm on the verge of being evicted which is why I was selling my designer pieces. These people stole from me. I've been fighting to get paid. Can't believe a company like this even exists.
Psycho seller on Mercari named CassiepPenate was able to leave me a very untruthful review even after her items I purchased did not arrive. I asked Mercari to remove it after seeing the rest of my 300+ purchases with 5 stars and glowing reviews. They would not.
They also would not let me ammend it to say it never arrived and that she attacked me in messages. This has been ridiculous.
Mercari let me know that they will not REMOVE this SLANDER and to have a blessed day. I have informed them I will NEVER BUY or SELL on their platform again. Here is what they left me:

This is my second review of MERCARI. I received completely different items than I ordered. After finally receiving my order 2 weeks later, they weren't even the correct items! The seller didn't disclose the full name of the yarn, and it was NOT the same item. The website insists you submit six photos of the items. I submitted 9 photos of one wrong color and 7 of the other. It was clear proof they were completely different items than what I ordered. After supporters immediately denied it, I canceled my credit card and shared this fact. And the next day, they came back asking me for even more photos even though I had sent more than they required. I hope this review saves others from wasting their precious time and money. It would be easier to just flush it down the toilet.

I have been selling on this platform for years and it has been the same thing for years and they have not made any changes! I see most of the buyers recently are new to mecari with no reviews but what do I do once a purchase I can't cancel! I reach out to the buyer multiple times trying to use sob stories after so many times just to get a rating and they just don't answer me! They don't care that we need our funds as sellers for items that they received! Mecari does nothing about it it's extremely wrong and the buyers should know the policy before buying and they shouldn't be allowed to do this over and over and over again! Something needs to be changed here it is not fair for sellers to wait three days for a rating and then have to wait another five days to even get your funds without instant deposit! Do better for your sellers mecari this is sickening now You're taking more processing fees from us but not making it easier for us
This website is a scam. I am stuck with their useless product. They don't even return back their products
A seller sold me a counterfeit item. Mercari didn't care because it was only after their 30 day period that I discovered I got scammed. They took no action against the seller and continue to let them sell fakes as real. Scummy scam site.
Don't ever buy from this company before reading their very limited return policy. It can easily be abused by sellers. You have three days to return and if the seller writes their description in the right way it is impossible to return anything. The customer support is terrible. There also appear to be very serious issues with sellers not getting paid or getting their products returned.
Never trust a site with your money that doesn't have a telephone number or a valid email with people who actually respond. They play with your money. They have rules that pop up in the middle or the end of your transactions that make it almost impossible to receive your money. This whole site is a scam. Even if you do get your money, it took months or just was really hard. Do not use this site
Answer: Please contact the Federal Trade Commision and Internet Crime Complaint Center. (IC3). It is illegal to keep anyones money! The IRS would like to know where all this money is also? Whos paying taxes on it? FTC will get your money! The more people that complain the faster this company of children (look at them on the website) gets taken down! The faster we all get paid!
