I purchase from here. The product was not as they said it was. Mine didn't even work. Seller said he will send me new one never came. They don't have a phone number. When you massage them they can't do nothing about people scamming you. Not a good place.
I have shopped with them for a year now and buy alot and I am now done with this site. If your package says delivered and it was not. They treat you like a liar and their and won't give even store credit! I'm done with this site!

When an order is placed they charge processing fee and selling fee, but you better get that weight right, if not Mercari charges the highest amount for shipping and charges you the balance, which will have you practically giving away an item to the customer according to your profit. Another con: the customers are ALWAYS trying to negotiate your already low priced item with that stupid "make an offer" button. If we want to give something away, we would just put the sale price as $0.00 and you just pay for shipping. Just make sure you charge top dollar so when they negotiate you will still get what you want. I have $5.00 shoes, outfits, etc, brand new, and these people will try to "make an offer" for $4.00. Thrift store shoppers. Mercari is NOT a thrift store! It is a selling platform people. YOU choose what to sell! New or used.
I purchased five items and not reciprocated any of them! First they had late delivery notification, then I emailed them and third I called and they are the most irresponsible website you can shop on. Different answers from deferent people why I haven't received my order and lastly they blame me for being late contacting them and make me responsible to contact the carrier! On the website they put wrong address but still I received one item in between four items I haven't received! Do not truest or sell or purchase on Mecary!
The shipment the customer shoud paid it but they charge me whene i reach team support they told me you can delate your account if you want
Wow! Never use Mercari! A buyer claimed in a review that my item arrived late. I have tracking that proves the item arrived early. Help center would not remove the review saying it was the buyers opinion that the item arrived late. Even though I could prove it wasn't true with tracking. They said they couldn't remove it but would have the higher ups look at it. Then they changed their name to peach claiming to be a supervisor. All the previous messages were then sent by peach though. Incredibly insulting and ridiculous. I wanted to keep my store from being lied about and smeared. Not only did they not help but they lied to me repeatedly in a ridiculous fashion. I've Never experienced customer service that was so insulting and clearly had no interest in helping me. I had high hopes for Mercari but if you're a serious seller avoid this marketplace like the plague. So ridiculous
I was browsing on the Mercari site for a red barn star, and I came across a seller known as Lela. She was advertising one, and I messaged her to verify the size and make an offer, which is a buyer's option on this site, as most are. Lela responded to my message. She verified size, did not accept my offer, referring me to the image of a price tag at $24.99. I replied Thanks. I received her response in my hotmail account with the words, "complete waste of time." I was stunned by this message, the site did not allow me to respond directly. I saw the flag, and reported it. If this is an acceptable response to an inquisitive and experienced online shopper, then pigs do fly! A helpful saying I keep in mind is…what you think goes down the sink, but what you write is never out of sight.
Wish I could give them ZERO stars. I am a seller on Mercari, have over 400 reviews all 5 starts, not a single 4 star or less reviews. They closed my account saying i sold unauthentic items. Seriously? I have over 400 reviews and you guys think i sell fake stuff. They listen to those fake accounts where they offer you 70% less for your items that you are selling amd you dont accept they report your account. And stupid Mercati fall for it. GARBAGE COMPANY. This is one of the worst purchases I have ever made. I made a purchase of a brand new Cuisinart Premium 7-in-1 Convection AirFryer Toaster Oven TOA-60,1800-Watts on 12-21-22. This product did not deliver until 01-04-23. Once we opened the box, we saw that there was a big dent in the side of it. I immediately contacted Mercari about it with and sent in 5 detailed pictures. Mercari asked me to send in 5 more pictures of it from afar back within 24 hours. This I truly believe, is irrelevant since the other 5 pictures showed the dent and the damaged box. I think the company was just buying time to not let me return it. I was contacted by the seller the same day as I sent these pictures. She apologized and told me she would send another one out. She explained this is not how she shipped it. That she saw it took forever to get to me. Once I started speaking with her, I thought Mercari stepped out of the situation. I thought I was sending this product back with no issues, until I received a message from Mercari saying my product was denied to be returned because I didn't provide the 5 other pictures. I asked them could I send in these pictures to reopen the dispute? Told them I thought these pictures were no longer needed since I had already spoke to the seller and she claimed she would ship another one out to me. This product was a Christmas present to my mother. I dropped this box off to my mother late Thursday afternoon. I then left. She opened it late Thursday night and saw the dent. She sent me the pictures and I uploaded them to the Mercari website. However, she left for a quick trip out of town for the weekend. She didn't get back till yesterday. I couldn't have got the other 5 pictures and uploaded the pictures until the next Tuesday. I believe Mercari should give a customer longer than 24 hours to respond before they completely dismiss the dispute. This is terrible customer service. I am now out of $175.00 to no fault of my own. I have contacted them several times to try and get this corrected but they keep just telling me the dispute is closed. They didn't even give it 4 days to try to resolve! WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! Only gave them one star because I had to...
I bought an item that arrived in a condition I did not expect. I simply wanted to return the item. Mercari refused to accept the return stating they felt the item fit the description. I disagree. I don't think it is unreasonable for me to say o would not have bought the item had I know it were in this condition. If I return the item, how does that hurt the seller? I don't understand their ethical stance or their plan to compete in this market. Reading other reviews it seems they have earned their low standing.
The worst site, DO NOT BUY ANTING ON THIS SITE...

I have been buying online for 2 decades, and was one of the earliest members in Mercari. Their customer service was great until recently.
I had sellers made mistakes twice, and CS refused to honor a return. The second time I was sent a different size than the seller listed, and CS reason was they do not take returns for sizing/fit (which is not the case here).
Be careful anyone who buys from Mercari. Their CS phone number is a fake. Whatever you press, you get to live support not available, contact us online. You will never talk to a human being, or get to contest a CS decision even when they are unreasonable.

I have done multiple sales on Mercari. None of my items are junk, knock-offs, etc. Many are vintage and new or minimally used. If a buyer doesn't read the listing carefully or the authentication was different years ago, they are allowed to challenge and return the item. Mercari will always side with the buyer. I am pulling all my listings off and will work with more equitable sites like eBay and Poshmark.
I would give a 0 rating if I could. I ordered a glass pyrex double boiler. It arrived in a baby diaper box broken in several pieces. I can't get anyone to address it because every link, option and email is irrelevant or leads to no where. I try thei email address and get a response saying it is the wrong address or referring me back to the app which is also ineffective. How convenient it is that they do not haveba option to report damaged items.
I purchased an expensive collector Funko pop and the seller sent a completely different cheap Funko pop instead. Fortunately I requested a refund the same day I received the package and Mercari approved the return. Do not purchase from a seller named Oofwhat. Buyers cannot post a message or rating when a scam occurs so sellers have false high ratings.
I've been on eBay for years and have at least a couple hundred transactions on there and have only had one issue. That's like a.5% issue rate. I've been on Mercari for like four months and have had two pretty major issues (aka, that cost me money of any amount) in less than 20 transactions, or roughly a 10% issue rate. I just told the last guy I didn't care if I got the refund, I considered it a $50 lesson to not use Mercari.
Edit: More orders have been messed up. Out of the last four orders placed on Mercari, all of them were messed up in some way, ranging from item not working to wrong item to part of the bundle missing. Review changed to '1'. Mercari needs investigated. Too much is going on for Mercari themselves not to know.
I received an item that was defective and cannot return the item or get a refund through their app And have tried calling them with no results
Mercari has a host of problems as a site. Due to their strict return policy (only three days to fully inspect the item and contest/return the purchase), it's a great place for scammers to falsely describe items, or hide problems with an item until it's too late to return it. Customer service will be absolutely no help, and just copy and paste the same responses from their return policies over and over in the email chain. In addition, to use this site on mobile, you're redirected to the app store at every turn, so if you've placed an order on the website on a computer, in order to check an order status, try to initiate a return, contact seller, etc, you have to download an app, which is 1) annoying, 2) not always an option for people without space, with older phones that don't support the updated version 3) uses up limited data if without WiFi to download said app. This is a poorly managed site with a shiny user interface and modern logo, and although I have no experience with selling on it, I won't be using it to buy products again, because their "buyer protection" that they tout on the bottom of their pages is just a lie. Protect yourself and buy from a more reputable site.
Beware! They sell counterfeit items and do not protect the buyer! BOGUS company! Do not buy from here.
My one purchase experience via Mercari was very poor. Product was misrepresented, domestic shipping took 4 weeks, Mercari service non-existent. I will never again purchase through this vendor.

Whos paying taxes on it? FTC will get your money! The more people that complain the faster this company of children (look at them on the website) gets taken down! The faster we all get paid!
