September 16,2020 Menards in Fridley Minnesota harassed me all the way through the store. I had my son with me and we both had masks but I had to take mine down for a minute or two to get my breath and there were no customers or employees around me when I decided to do it. One of the female employees walked past the aisle and see me without my mask up and demanded I put it up. I told her I would put the mask up and I intended to after I caught my breath. Like I said I was the only one with my kid in the aisle. She took like five steps and then backtrack right back to me demanding the second time and believe me both times were completely unprofessional literally yelling. The way she talk to me pissed me off so I asked her what the heck she was going to do about it. She called management and as I abandon cart and start walking for the front door I had at least five employees coming from different directions right for me. Seriously felt like I was being attacked by demons because that's how they acted. I explain to the manager that I had troubles breathing in the mask and decided to pull it down for a few seconds to catch my breath but he did not care. I explained the mask is not a law but he told me his store can make up their own rules. I told him that was fine and that I will never spend another dime in his store. They shamed me in front of everyone in that store harassing me all the way to the front door and I was in the back of the store in the beginning.
I am an HVAC in the company I work for I spend a lot of money at Menards and will no longer do that. I live right next-door and I do a lot of on home repairs but will never spend any more money there and I have spent a butt load of money in that store in the 10 years I've lived here.
This should be a massive lawsuit for harassing customers and shaming them over a mask that doesn't even work and it's proven.
Hard to find a store associate knowledgeable about their dept. Lower quality merchandise than comparable stores.

Don't bother! They lure you with 11% off being advertised. It's a gimmick. The rebate is not money back, it's an in store credit which you wont receive for so long it's ridiculous and may as well be never. It's a scam to get you kept inside the company store. I purchased almost $2k of goods for phase 1 of my flooring project around the 1st of July, sent in my rebate forms and it's now mid September and zip, zero, bupkis. I was expecting to apply rebates to phase 2 of my project. I don't expect good service for the rebates on the hundreds of additional dollars I spent there after that. If you're a vet like me, you're better off to shop Lowes and receive a REAL 10% off and REAL sale prices. Too bad, I was a new Menards customer and kinda liked the store. In addition, I received HORRIBLE customer service when I went to a location on Van Dyke in Warren, Michigan. Later, Menards! You've lost me and my family members.
1) besides rude employees they are in many cases not competent

I shop at Monona WI they have the worst management I have ever seen any place. They are extremely rude
I've been shopping there since they have opened. I go in there several times a week and spend thousands of dollar there a year I have yet to have any management personal say even 1 word to me, even if I say hi to them
Employees are decent for the most part.The only reason I shop there is because it is so close hope a Lowes or Home Depot will open up that close to me.
I ordered a bathroom vanity on-line. They advertised a good price and a nice rebate of $80. What you don't know is, you get the rebate AFTER you pay and it's really a gift card towards an in-store purchase. Since I live in the next state, I can never use it. Also, after I paid, I was advised there was a $197 trucking fee. So, I had to pay that as well. When the cabinet arrived, the delivery guy said we should have paid extra to have it brought into the house. (A service I was never advised of), and he left the 300+lb. Vanity outside for my son to bring in the house.
Then, we discovered that one of the legs is substantially shorter than the other three- so I have to get a carpenter to fix it. I wish I could rate them with minus stars. This is really the worst company I have ever purchased from.
DO NOT go to menards and custom order your counter tops the have no clue what there doing, and the people the have cutting there quartz are total idiot's.
Just got kicked out of Menards on brookpark rd in Cleveland Ohio for not wearing a mask. Told the so called manager I have a medical condition and that I cannot wear a mask. He told me get out of the store or I will call the police even made me put down what I came to purchase claiming that if I don't wear a mask I cannot purchase anything from the store. Truly believe this was more racial than anything else. I told him several times that I cannot wear a mask and if anything happened to me as a result of the mask he and the store would be liable and I would sue the store which is when he told me get the hell out the store or I will call the police. I put down what I came to purchase walked out the store very angry, with the manager walking behind me as if I was shoplifting making sure I got out of the store. Already placed a phone call into my attorney on regards to this matter. People like this should not be employed by Menards or any other store for that matter. Don't mean to play the race card here but when you tell someone you can't do something because of an existing condition and they still insist you do it because they said so then it makes it a personal issue which is why I believe it was racially driven.
Menards did make things right. After all the hounding. The General Manager Brett did make things right, I applaud him for coming through..
I bought a vinyl fence June 20, I finally got it after 5 weeks and it came damaged. It was sent back and it finally came after 6 weeks. This time the gate was damaged. They did on the 7th week drop off a new gate. Mind you I mailed in the rebate form on 6/22. Yet today we are at August 6th and they have "no record" of it. How does this happen? Could it be because Menards is antiquated and make you cut things out like you're in kindergarten and then fill it out and mail it to WI? This is exactly how people NEVER see their rebate money. I had been dealing with a district manager Josh out of the Morse Rd Columbus store who now has buried his head in the sand and no longer responds either. Good job Menards. If your District Mangers don't respect your customers, why should any of the hourly associates. If you have a local Lowe's or Home Depot, go there. Save yourself the bullsh*t.

I went in to Menards today for only the second time and was told that today was the last day that I could come in wearing a bandanna for a mask, "for the safety of our employees." He then said, after today, I have to buy a mask if I came with a bandanna to come in. That sounds like discrimination if you ask me. People make homemade masks and can wear them with no more safety for the employees than me wearing a bandanna mask. They then require you to purchase a mask from them to come inside. Pay the troll his dues. The least Mendards could do is offer free masks if they think the mask you came in with isn't working just as good, without any medical evidence their masks are protecting their employees any better. I'm not going back to Menards and would hope others follow my lead.
I bought 15 items and Menards sent me the wrong items of half the order.

I ordered $1400 in cedar 6x6 posts and when it was dropped off the lumber had multiple forklift holes and gouges in it. The driver delivered it and took off and the store said I had ample time to refuse it. They refuse to do anything at all. This store has zero quality control.
This chain is the absolute worst. Banning kids from your store? What the heck is that about. Talk about age discrimination... if they banned any other age group, there would be lawsuits. Returned a defective faucet I ordered online. Menards would not reimburse for shipping or handling charges. I am out $18 because their store shipped me crap.
Customer service here is a joke employees are not properly trained and how to deal with customers or even on their job nobody knows anything nobody's helpful if you need to move anything or if you need to find out about something there is nobody in the store ever that can help you I've never gone to the store and actually had a good experience
Menards refused to take back a lawn mower that failed out of the box. It had a loud back in the engine the first time it I started it and smoke billows out when running. I never mowed a blade of grass, but they said I had to take it to Ace hardware to have it fixed. They don't fix them or take them back. I asked the manager what he would do to compensate my time, and he said "absolutely nothing".
Don't ever buy anything online from Menards. I ordered an indoor/outdoor ceiling fan online because of COVID and then when my receipt printed out it said it wasn't for wet conditions. I immediately called snd tried to cancel it. They SAID my order had already processed to take it to a Menards for a refund. I came tp Wichita to return it and they charged a 25% restock fee. $67. Said it was company policy. It was a special order. I said show me where it says that on my receipt. He said it would have been in SMALL print when I was ordering it. Its not on my receipt. Never shopping there again.
Order siding a month ago still no siding got told it got shiped out 7 -29 - 2020 told today it will get shipped out 8 - 21 - 2020 I need my siding losing money every day I don't have it

Their online orders take forever to receive them. At least 15 days. They ship your products 7 to 14 days after the purchase. Granted it's probably more the vendors fault than Menards.
Answer: Was hoping for the simple convenience of online ordering and getting it shipped to my house. I was wrong, the amount of time I've had to put into trying to resolve my shipping issues has been awful. Been a month since I started asking Menards for help with the issues. Still no response.

Answer: Nearly impossible. No customer service phone #'s provided by Menards. Have been waiting over a month for a response to my request and issues. Have also requested updates multiple times within that month with absolutely no response. Hopefully this is only because of Covid-19 but I from what I've heard the Customer Service is always almost unreachable
