The phone is in great condition and packaged well. Some tiny little scratches on the screen but all in great shape. All clean etc. They said it needed a new screen and the casing was chipped. I looked after it so well and and proud to say so. £25 from £250? It cost me £8 to send it to them via recorded delivery! I dont even trust them to send it back to be honest. STAY CLEAR! Not happy. I cant give 0 but would if I could. This is NOT the same Mazuma I have always used. Brand loyalty gets you nowhere.
They offered a great price £400, then when they received it said it wasnt mint condition due to dust on the camera lens (not true) so offered nearly a third of original price then when I asked for phone back suddenly offered a further £150. As I knew it was a scam I asked they return the phone which was never returned as lost by post office and compensation claim refused. SCAM COMPANY AVOID
I agreed a sale of £690 for my immaculate one year old iPhone14 Pro Max. After collecting it, I then got an email saying that the offer had been reduced to £0! They claimed it's an aftermarket replica, which it absolutely is not and is verified by Apple as being fully authentic, as purchased from a genuine store.
You are given the option to either reject the offer or, outrageously, accept the new offer of £0. If you accept the offer, the phone is then apparently "destroyed" leaving you with absolutely nothing to show for it. Makes sense really as it's a great way to rob people of their phones and then make money by selling them on, and also a way of scaring people into thinking they are selling some sort of fake phone. I obviously rejected the offer for a return.
They're very quick to arrange collection from your house using some premium pick up service by DPD, but are then slow in returning it, using the cheapest possible method going - I still haven't received mine back yet. Classic.
The whole model is a very dodgy set up, ready to either reduce your offer by a large amount, or in my case, to £0 in the hope of you accepting it and waving goodbye to your phone with nothing to show for it, allowing them to sell it on for 100% profit.
The call centre sounds like it's being handled by a bunch of slovenly infants, with no real grasp on how anything there works. Each person tell you something different and nobody knows what's going on. The customer services email responses are robotic and not even remotely authentic sounding.
I'm lucky enough to be in a position where I wasn't selling this because I am desperate for the money - it's because I've just got the new 15 and thought that keeping the 14 as a spare would be unnecessary. I only hope that people who are selling because they have a genuine need to cash in don't get caught out in this whole thing.
UPDATE: A phone was returned to me, and is the wrong phone. It's damaged, scratched and unusable. The one they have returned is obviously a fake, with no proper operating system or anything working. They have scammed me for the proper iphone and sent an aftermarket replica in return. They'll no doubt be selling on the real one now (mine) that they claimed was a replica before sending me a fake one back.
Mazuma are disgusting and a bunch of con merchants and crooks. How they are allowed to operate like this is a total miracle. It's now obvious that all the 5 star reviews on here are put there by Mazuma themselves.
They are criminals - be warned!
May of fallen for the trick of I had only sent one phone in.
Sent to Samsung phones both just a year old that had been in cases and with screen protectors. First email on phone one reported more than five scratches and ghosting on the screen so would only pay a fraction of the price that had been offered.
Second email exactly the same word for word. And again a fraction of the price.
After two days of not going back to them,I had two more emails from retention department offering £15 extra. Have had the phones returned and as you can imagine NO SCRATCHES AND NO GHOSTING ON SCREEN.
Stay away, other companies may offer a little less but keep to the offered price.
Please be warned.
Absolute rip off company. DO NOT USE.
Sent perfectly good phone in and they downgraded to faulty...WHICH IT WAS NOT
TOTAL RIP OFF
I sold them an iphone 13 128gb, as soon as I got the phone I had a case and screen cover put on it. Never had any scratches. They came back to me deducting the agreed price by £60 because there were scratches. After receiving photos of it that I asked for there were added scratches to my phone! I wish I had taken photos of my phone before sending it. Do not waste your money on this company! Stay away, you've been warned.
(It couldn't of been damaged during delivery as I had in in the original phone box it came in and was bubble wrapped)
Sent my Samsung Galaxy S9 off to them in excellent condition. Had always been in a hard case or it's original box. One careful lady owner. Promised £45 but then offered just £5 claiming screen burn and multiple scratches. Absolute rubbish. Needless to say have rejected their offer and requested the return of my handset. Will submit it to a more reputable company. Just hope it's returned in the same condition it was sent.
PLEASE DO NOT send your device to Mazuma. I have been using them for years and they WERE a really good company, so PLEASE don't base your decision to sell to them based on your previous experience with them. My son and I both sent our iphones to mazuma last week, 3 days apart. Both devices were in mint condition, not a single scratch or mark back or front. My son and I both got exactly the same message from them saying they had to 'amend' their original quote as there were more than 3 scratches on the screen and we both got exactly the same reduction of £60. Although they give you the option to have the device returned to you, they would have to scratch your screen first otherwise you would have evidence of decietful sales practice, so that is not an option. Once they have your device you're stuck. An apallingly shameful way to run a business.
Offered me £80 less on receipt of my iphone pro max 13. Claimed there were more than three scratches on the front. My phone was pristine and I have never experienced this with other recyclers i have used. Mazuma make you feel cheated. I then called them and they were very rude. They told me my phone would take 3-5 days to return to me and referred me to their T&Cs! I think that's awful customer service.
Do not use this company. They will get you to send the phone at an agreed price. Then send ypu a lower offer, which I refused, then send another offer which I refused again. They then kept my phone for two weeks. When I rang they finally sent my phone back after arguing with them. When my phone arrived they sent my phone back without a box.
When I called them they said that they were keeping my box and they were not able to send it back even if I paid for the return because they had rights to keep my box.
SCAM ARTISTS, LIARS, AND CRIMINALS. Sent in an immaculate condition iPhone 14 Pro which I've had in the box completely un-used, received by Mazuma who cited damage to the screen (despite me sending pictures both before I sent the phone which showed it was BRAND NEW as well as how it was packed). Sent me pictures of my screen damaged (evidently done by them whilst the phone was in their 'care'). Accepted the reduced payment as I needed the money however ANYONE who is debating giving them a try to re-consider. I sent another phone to WeBuyAnyPhone who paid me in full and ordinarily I wouldn't promote companies for free but I'll happily steer people from these absolute wasters onto a company which did in-fact help me. How can a company damage someone's mobile phone and get away with it… it's criminal damage and trading standards ought to do something. Before and after pictures attached. READ THE REVIEWS AND DO NOT THINK THE OUTCOME FOR YOU WILL BE ANY DIFFERENT… THIS IS THEIR BUSINESS MODEL. AVOID.
Sent them a BRAND new ipad that was taken from original packaging (never been used) - they offered me £370 then when the item was recieved I had an email with a revised price of £315 - reason given was that more than 5 scratches on the casing.
This is entirely untrue as the item had ZERO scratches. It was brand new and taken from the apple box at the time to sending.
I called to challenge this and the call hander was very ruse - she told me that the iPad was heavily scratched (how would she know - she didn't have the iPad in front of her during the call).
I believe this is a common tactic that is used, to reduce the price offered and get people to just accept the lower price.
VERY DISHONEST service.
I recently sent my samsung phone off to Mazuma mobile after they quoted me £80 to buy my phone.
When i purchased my phone i bought a case for it straight away, so the screen has always been covered. When Mazuma received my phone, they emailed me to say " due to multiple scratches on the screen they have revised their offer to £65. I refused this and asked for the phone to be sent back. The following day they offered me £70. I then phoned their customer service team and told them there were no scratches on the screen. The person offered to get the tec team to send me a picture via email. This never happened, so again i asked for my phone to be sent back. Three days later i received my phone.
There are no scratches at all. Mazuma mobile are a bunch of con artists. I wish i had looked at the reviews before i dealt with them.
Never use these again making out I had scratches on my phone when it looked brand new.I'm not happy at all with this
NO NO NO What a terrible outfit. An iphone 11 - offered £234 online. Not a scratch on it - perfect! Sent it to them. Email received we will offer you £76.30! Reason... wait for it... the battery life is not good - what a joke. Offer was rejected and 15 mins later they offe £115. DO NOT THINK YOU WILL GET ANYTHING LIKE THE OFFER THEY GIVE YOU ONLINE - YOU WONT. WASTE OF TIME - SELL IT YOURSELF.
As I can see off the reviews they seem to get phones and then give you the bottkm offer regardless of the conditions of the phone. You can get better service and better money in the end with other recycle companies
Its a bad thing to do, don't send a phone in I was told the wrong price, my phone looked in perfect condition but apparently not.
My experience echoes others on here - screen burn cited when there was none detectable and appeal results in yet another not worth it price.
I asked for handset to be returned in case I needed a spare. But they didn't send back my samsung charger or the £40 RRP phone case I had it in. (I was happy to give the lot over for the trade in price quoted before items sent!) Apparently their written policy excludes return of anything but device. Wish I'd given the phone and all accessories to a charity or family member as everything in good working order!
Absolutely livid with this company. Was quoted £190 for my IMMACULATE CONDITION iPhone 11.
Phone has been kept in a case and had a screen protector on for the whole 2 years of having it. Not a single scratch, dent, mark on it.
Wrapped it up extremely well in bubble wrap, padded the box out with bubble wrap and sent it off to them.
To receive an email today, knocking my offer down by £60 to £130 with the following statement:
Apple iPhone 11 64GB Unlocked Your device has multiple scratches on the casing (we allow up to 5). These cosmetic imperfections mean your device has been repriced.
This is complete and utter rubbish there wasn't 1 mark on that phone never mind multiple marks. I can assure you I am going to leave negative reviews everywhere possible and report them to everyone possible.
Needless to say I've rejected the offer and requested my iPhone be sent back to me.
Any mark that it comes back with definitely weren't on it when sent to them.
Looking at other reviews being left I not the first person they've done this too and no doubt won't be the last.
Crap sent iPhone 14 pro max 6 weeks old immaculate had it in a cover and screen protector was excellent condition told I would get £850 offered me £690
