I have met sever girls on site I never join it get there numbers when they email me but is always the same they fall in love with you instantly then after chatting for week or two they hit you up for money wAnt funds for plane ticket or some other stupid excuse don't do it. Stay away from any woman from Ghana or Nigeria biggest scammers in world. Is just kind of entertainment for me I am out nothing would never send my hard earned money to these stupid $#*!es
The site is a total fraud. I am for Mexico and spent 45 bucks, good monet here. I m sure that 99 % of the profiles are false. You get invitations to talk from what appears to be beautiful ladies, but after a while you realiza that is not really them. They will ask you to chat in gmail or hangout, and after a while they will try to rip you off. I thought frauds like these only happend in 3 world countries like mine, its a shame that they use pictures of maybe good girls that surly dont know they are using their pics to fool idiots like me and others. Be very careful to share information with them: they will tell you that they are nurses, that they live with their uncles, that they want a serious relationship, that they aare in Ghana, etc, just to make you lose your time and try to rip you off I just cancelled after 7 days, DONT WATE YOUR MONEY. ITS A TOTAL SCAM! The good reviews for Mate1 here are false too, almost for sure
Talked to Keith, told him I emailed and cancelled account 3 months ago. He told me that I used the account, which I logged on to see if it was cancelled... of course not! Then he hung up on me... Alot of fakes on this site and nasty people working for them... horrible customer service!
I like mate1 a lot and it's up there with the best dating sites ive tried, isn't quite number 1 (wejustfit takes that accolade) but I do think you can try it and see what you think as a lot depends on the area youre in.
All the views that i got were from girls 19 to 38. And no matter where the home town was, they all seemed to know each other.
I have received 3 messages from people who claim to be young girls on this site. In this case the ages were, 33,35, and 36. They are date scammers saying they grew up in the states but are in Africa for various reasons.
I like mate1.com its simple to use and its good fun. You can rely on it... it has good customer service and a good reputation... Personally I think it's up there with wejustfit.com at the pinnacle of the online dating sector.
Stay away. Tried the three day trial. Paid now I cannot get to any mail or delete the junk they send
Site seems to be ok but did not really convince me. Unlike on other big sites like Match and Mingle2day they did not have many women in my area. Site still seems to be ok though but I was more lucky using other sites.
This site took my money through someone apparently who stole my info and after i Informed them i got into a back and forth battle with a customer service rep who was disrespectful, rude and clearly trying to keep my money for a dervice i never used
Ive found that with mate1 there are a lot of real girls on the site in my locality and a fair amount are up for a chat. But Id probably say go for wejustfit.com, for London anyway. Not sure about other cities as I live in London and that site is the only one that has actually make me happy.

One of the first contacts I got was the same scam I get on Facebook. Widow, stationed in Afghanastan on peace mission and will return in one month. I cancelled less than 24 hours and now they won't give me my money. I'm going to BBB and consumer protection and putting all this information on My Sharon Rose Facebook page. Youtube and whatever else I can to get the word out. Scammers on this site. Sickening. And that they have an email system you can't tell they got back to you because it comes back on their robot email stating don't reply to this. I will not stop til I get my money back or save everyone from this site
Joined Mate1 last month and figured its time to let people know my thoughts.
Advantages Simple to use, higher than average real women on the site (although not quite as many as WeJustFit Id say), average number of fake profiles, easy search function.
Disadvantages Should offer a better deal for longer term subscriptions. There should be a way to get all your messages together once a day rather than your inbox being bombarded with emails every half an hour (seriously, I spend ages deleting them all).
All in all, its 7 or maybe even 8 out of ten for me. Better than average but there are still superior options.
Mate1 is a terrible website for those who are looking for a date or potential someone. I was propositioned for sex, ask to give money by just about every person that contacted me. I believe that this is part of the "scam" of the website. 50% of the women that contacted me did not exist. 80% asked for my cell number to text me. 20% At some point in exchanging communications ask for monry to be wired to them or various reasons. You have got to be kidding me. And I paid for this?
Yes, I have no any credit card because I have no much money, please if you can give me a free chance for 3days only.

I've already regretted for spending even 2 EURO on this $#*!. I only came to read all those reviews after the 3 days membership. Now im only worried that they will charge me another month's membership fee even if i have already cancelled my subscription. I feel so pity on myself for joining this mother$#*!in piece of $#*!.
Thanks to all the poor souls who have had a bad time with this site, who have submitted there warnings, I get gazillions of these sorts of emails in my inbox everyday, click on 1 out of curiousity & blammo you get inundated,& I do feel sorry for the people who have been conned,& you can also be conversing with bots,& I expect the glowing review on this forum has been submitted by an agent of this company, it is not just the other users who are dishonest the whole set up is a conn, all I can suggest is to subscribe to sites like eharmony etc a bit pricier but at least you know it is legit & at the very least you are not getting desires with a sophisticated piece of software, or people just after your money ps no I am not an agent for eharmony or match.com etc be careful out there.
This place is crawling with catfish. I finally wrote mate1 and told them that they need to pay ME to turn in the scammers instead of me paying mate 1 to have my mail box littered with them. I cancelled the membership after 3 weeks but NO refund... they keep the money.

BEWARE OF THIS GUY ANY ONE IN CONTACT WITH THIS INDIVIDUAL SHOULD GET IN TOUCH WITH THE NEAREST POLICE STATION.
