Match.com exhibits a polarized reputation among its users, with significant concerns overshadowing its strengths. Positive feedback highlights the site's potential for connecting users, particularly for younger demographics, and its broad user base. However, a predominant sentiment reflects dissatisfaction with customer service, marked by unresponsive support, unjust account terminations, and perceived deceptive practices regarding subscription fees. Many users report frustrations over a lack of transparency and the prevalence of fake profiles, leading to a sense of mistrust. Overall, while Match.com offers opportunities for connections, its customer service and business practices warrant serious scrutiny.

BEEN USING MATCH.COM NOW FOR JUST UNDER A MONTH AND STILL UNDECIDED. I USED WEJUSTFIT.COM FOR A MONTH BEFORE HAND AND MUST SAY I EXPECTED MATCH TO BE BY BEST BECAUSE OF ALL THE COMMERCIALS THEY DO BUT ID SAY THEY ARE AS GOOD AS EACH OTHER. IN FACT I HAD A PROPER DATE ON WJF SO IT PROBABLY EVEN WINS. OVERALL MATCH SHOULD BE BETTER BUT ITS NOT.
I tried to cancel my membership renewal online a week before it expired. On the expiration date I learned I had been billed for another 3 months. I called and complained. I was told that if I didn't receive an email confirming my cancellation, then it wasn't cancelled. I said I didn't know that. I had the distinct impression it was cancelled early because I was locked out of it for 24 hours after I completed the form online. Representative was rude, rigid and unreasonable. Even though
I was complaining on the day of renewal she would not refund my $59.00 renewal charge.
Totally unreasonable and unfair. Im disputing the charge with my credit card company
The selection of matches is terrible, and match does a poor job of finding desirable matches. The customer service is also very poor
I am not one to complain and overall the site is very good and easy to get around however the men on there are so far from one perspectoius to the other end of the scale but I think a lot of males r using the site like pof and pmf just to get a one night stand rather than really dating. Men r rude crude and impatient on the site as an example of the types that use the site.
My advice don't do dating sites get out there meet people face to face
Nice set up and their team did a great job with the overall layout of the website but they will bleed you dry once you sign up and agree to automatic payments from your bank account. Some of the irregular payments from my account were very small and random but all together amounted to far more than the agreed figure for a 3 month membership.
Although people do find partners on the site and I've even had some success myself, I just don't have respect for a company that sneakily rinses my wallet out like a rabid demon.
If you sign up watch your back or more importantly watch your bank account!
I cancelled my auto-renewal on Match and then telephoned for confirmation that this had been actioned. The 'customer services' advisor offered me a 50% discount if I renewed. I accepted only to find that they debited my credit card by the full amount. When I noticed the debit, around 4 weeks later, I immediately phoned to complain. Match refused to refund the difference saying that they never offered me that discount. I asked for a transcript of the telephone call but they said they no longer had the original recording. I contacted my Credit card provide who indemnified my loss and I have now reported Match to my MP. I urge all dissatisfied members to lobby their MP in order that action be taken against this corrupt, unethical organisation.
" Wanna hear a Joke? First, here's the "Punchline": "Match.com"! Are you laughing has much has I am? Hey, just Kidding you. ( I must be Stoned). No, really. Guess what happened to me on there? You see, I was scrolling down all the "Good" reviews of it here, ( I must have bumped my Head), and I decided, "Hey, why not give this Fantastic dating website a try"?. ( Damn, this is some good Smoke), and I went to open a Profile there. ( Crappers, the Room's darkened and Spinning). But WAIT! There's far more to this then meets the Mortal Eye. I NEVER EVER posted ANY profiles there! ( Damn, Dude. This is getting better all the time). What I did was simply enter my email address, placed a totally Fictional password, then sat quietly back to enjoy the "Fireworks". BAM! BAM! BAM! I had gotten exactly 78 emails saying the Women on there absolutely LOVED my "Profile"! These emails rolled in in just 3 days. Yes. You read that right. 78. In just 3 days. Funny. I NEVER EVER POSTED A PROFILE! Just put in my email address! These emails where actually saying Crap like, "She likes you", and "your a Match". Guess what? They're all Women above thw Age of 65 and 70 yrs Old. I live a much younger lifestyle and I live as though I am still in my early to middle 30's. What a SCAM! Damn, I feel so sorry for those of you who've lost loved "Ones". I mean, lost loved "100's". Read my lips. NO NEW MATCHES...

Why are you still in business as being one of the worst companies in the world cheaters scammers the company that is a cheater scammer is match.com if you try to cancel your membership they don't let you and they will forever steal your money it doesn't matter what you do they will still take it because they have your credit card number
2 scammers were sent to me from Match.com: One got in touch with me via his fake niece at Match.com who gave me his email. We got very involved and eventually he, Paul Goodrich, received a laptop from me (purchased at Best Buy) and sent to him via Fed Ex to Dubai. His was supposedly stolen there at immigration. Although promised, he never refunded me. He sent me a Wells Fargo spread sheet which I took to Wells Fargo, and it was similar to theirs but fake. Plus, there was no Paul Goodrich customer at any of their banks. The other scammer, who contacted me first and said he was in Salt Lake, Utah, knew Paul was fake and told me so. BUT, he, too, promising to be by my side, sent me an extensive note about himself. It was clear from his writing that he was fake, too. He obviously was not an English speaker, tho' he said he was born in Michigan. His email is '*******@yahoo.com." I am out about $2000, had to close my bank account and open a new one. I cancelled my subscription in less than 3 weeks from joining and Match.com will not provide me a refund. I think match.com should credit what I paid and quit sending me more 'matches'. I had a horrible experience! Tricia Erazo Penn, Santa Fe, NM
I, too, have had my account blocked barely 24hrs after paying $65.00 USD for the 'privilege' of a 3 month subscription. In my brief time on the site, I favorited a few profiles that were interesting, answered a few e-mails, and filled out my profile honestly and completely. Then I'm unceremoniously booted out of the page I was on and, on trying to log in, told my account was blocked. At that time I was sent an automatic e-mail asking for personal information - which I gladly provided - and no explanation beyond that. Their customer service line was closed, as it apparently only works 9-5 weekdays. I'm confused about what occurred and feel this is the very definition of fraud.
Why do you send me email ads for One Free Day if I download your app, then offer NOTHING after I have been suckered in to the download? You are my "FRIENDS"?
Don't use Match.com. They are crooks. Their system failed me technically and they would not refund the money I paid for the three months. I only used it for 2 weeks before someone got in and moved my info around and turned it into a guy's ad for women.
The site was not very 'user friendly' to begin with. I set up a year subscription thinking that I would be able to cancel at any time and get a refund for the unused months. I wasn't having much luck on the site and my funds were low so I decided to cancel it after 3 months. However, when cancelling the representative told me that my account would be de-activated, but that I could re-activate it any time before the expiry of February 2017. I said I do not wish to re-activate it and I believe that I should be entitled to a refund for the unused months, but to no avail. I usually never complain, but I feel that this company is immoral and something must be said as I may as well have thrown $170 in the garbage. I don't understand how a company can charge you for a service that they are no longer providing. If you are thinking about signing up then I warn you to proceed with caution and do not pay for any subscriptions!
Match cancelled my subscription with a couple months left on it and refused to give either a refund of unused service or a reason for its cancellation. I would think this has got to violate some law, since its is arbitrary and capricious. Never again get on that site.
I started an account and used it for three months, and made the mistake of getting a three month subscription and a phone anonymizing service -- in the very first hour, two people contacted me with the exact same life story of doing nursing in Kenya while pretending that they were living in the US.
I called in the next day to say that I wanted to cancel these services and downgrade it to a trial one month. The person at the site refused to do so and proclaimed that I would not be given any money back even if I had no intention of using the service.
The site is ridiculous. No one looks you up you have to purchase a lot just to get notice. Plus most of these profile are old or they can't reply to cause they haven't purchased anything to get back to you. No one really sees you and you wasted your money on it. The only thing you can do is make a free profile but that's it. Everything else coast money. So I give this site 1 out of 5
Do not trust them with your money.
They'll let you trial the service, sign you up - and then you find the trial was full of optional bolt-ons that they didn't make you aware of.
The result is that you unwittingly signing up for a much reduced service.
You don't know about the optional bolt-ons and they refuse to tell you thay are being secretly added to enhance your trial.
When pressed, they refuse to comment on whether this is fair. When pressed for written information that warns of OPTIONAL bolt-ons being added without the customers knowledge in a trial, they can't point to it - because it does not exist.
At the point of trial, any OPTIONAL bolt-on features should be either requested by the customer for trial, or notice should be given that they are added for trial but not as standard.
Match does not do this so it can lure customers in with a false impression.
Taking this now to Trading Standards, who take a dim view of mis-selling.
This is a loathsome and dishonourable company who aim to extract as much money as they can without providing the service that they show to offer.
Find somewhere else to spend your money.
In my opinion match. Cofm, is the best site for getting money out of me, without any results. 6 months was on the site and had no luck at all. Only website where not one person replied. Another thing I got tons of spam messages enticing me to become a premium member, once u signed up and replied not one the genuine girls "yeah yeah" replied.
I hear a lot of people say they've struck gold, but only thing I found was a rat trap.
Answer: I was unable to get a refund but I dispute the transaction and got my money back that way. I said it was because they were not providing the service they claim to offer. If you can dispute with your bank just tell them you didn't authorize the transaction and the company refuses to refund you. Good luck.
Answer: No I would not trust it. There are scammers on there. They will tell you want you want to here. They are from another country. Look for key words such as widoer, contractor, travel, one child only. They will compliment you right off the bat about your smile. Not safe. Try another site.
Answer: Back in the 1980s, strip clubs were pulling all sorts of over charge and fake charge scams and forcing people tp pay. Here in Atlanta a majpr federal case against the GOLD CLUB brought all that to light and alot of changes were made in the industry... I BRING THAT UP BECAUSE... these social sites seem to be attempting the same types of scams and are getting away with it. By U.S. fedeal standars ALL THESE SITES FALL UNDER THE RACKETEERING STATUTE. Unfortunately there is NO enforcement of these laws at this time. Your best option is to dispute the entire charge with your credit card. They may not want to do this because they are seeing so much of it. BE FIRM AND INSIST IT IS A MATTER OF CREDIT FRAUD. Also be sure to indicate that you are filling a consumer notice with the Federal Trade Commision (they have online forms for this to keep a numbers count on how many people are affected by these sorts of things. www.FTC.org). If you have been a good card holder, you shouldnt have any issues except for 1: ALL THESE SITES ARE NOTORIOUS FOR REBILLING/DRAFTING YOUR CREDIT ACCOUNT. You may want to file a COMPROMISED CREDIT CARD CLAIM AT THE TIME OF THE DISPUTE and have your card issuer SEND YOU A REPLACEMENT CARD WITH A NEW CARD NUMBER.
Answer: You will have a hard time getting your money back Terri. The first time I was with them years ago, I forgot the auto renewal and tried to get my money back and they fought me tooth and nail. This time I tried both Ourtime and Match and both experiences were not good though Ourtime was a bit better. I agree with some of the answers here that Match baits you toward the end of your subscription with possible contacts, but since I cannot proof that I have to add that disclaimer. Everything you have run into with your experience I have had with mine.
Answer: You likely signed up for auto-renewal, which Match.com doesn't explicitly tell you out-right that it will auto-renew. You will not likely get a refund back for the month they charged you. However, go to your account's settings and cancel the feature ASAP. You will still have access for the month in question, but at least you will have stopped future withdrawals.
Answer: Give them a call... they always have something to scam people about...
Answer: Cancel the card you used when you joined.
Answer: That is an extra fare item and they charge you each time. Best to do your own searches and replies...
Answer: Too much don't do it!
Answer: I feel the same way Teresa, i have been on the site for 1 year now and cancelled my subscription, but was told it won't officially cancel until May because i waited to late after my initial sign up day, so i got stuck with another year. I am a handsome guy with a lot to offer, but for some reason never really got emails as i expected, i started to think the people profiles were fake or the women i was interested in didn't know a good man if his profiled slapped them in the face, just sayN. 41, recently divorced for little over a year, highly educated, working in my profession, make close to six figures, single, don't cheat, great personality, smart, don't play, and real down to earth... but i guess no one believed it or didn't like my handsome picks... IDK. Confused!
