I have never been more frustrated and angered by a company! I had been a customer at Massage Envy in Plymouth MN for over 15 years. Despite the constant revolving door and occasional waste of money with a less than useful massage, my challenge has been with misinformation given by the desk staff about making or cancelling appointments and when the concern was brought to the Mgr's attention, she was more than happy to simply shrug her shoulders and keep my money. Not willing at all to support the customer, but instead just said "there is noting I can do, you can talk with corporate". I assure you I tried and wish you the best of luck in getting a hold of anyone... you submit something online and NEVER hear back! I truly DESPISE this company and their lack of customer support! And the massages are certainly hit or miss as well so good luck there.

I had a horrible experience at Massage Envy in Annapolis, MD. I decided to get the membership after receiving a monthly add on perk with each monthly massage. I went into get my massage and the front desk employee told me that she did not know what the monthly add on was and that she needed a physical copy of the add on. I did not have it with me (no one told me I needed it with me to get the benefit that I paid for), so I called my husband to ask him to take a picture of it. When I showed the employee the picture, she said she still could not accept it. It was just for aromatherapy (literally some essential oil) and she seriously could not add that on for me even though it was my benefit as a member!? When I questioned it, she called her manager, who agreed that I simply could not get the aromatherapy without a physical copy. I have been to tons of massage spas and have gotten aromatherapy for free with no membership or anything! It's very petty of Massage Envy. Because of this rip off experience I will be telling all of my friends/family to not waste their time going there and I will never come back after my membership expires.

Crooks
January 12, 2023

Stay away from these Crooks. I had a free gift card for a one hour massage.(they only give you 50 minutes btw). When I called the Littleton store the nasty girl said since I already had a previous massage this one would cost me $120. But I have afree gift card. What don't you get about the term free, already paid for. She repeated $120. Thanks but drop dead. I then called another location and the girl there said they needed a credit card number in case I don't show up. I don't give my number out to anybody. This place is crooked and greedy and I'll never go there again. I would give them zero stars if it would let me. I hope you go out of business. Stay far away from these Crooks

I went for a massage on Friday, January 6th. I planned on using a $75 gift certificate that I was given and mentioned that when the appointment was made that I would be using the certificate. So, I had a 90 minute session. When I checked out, the cashier asked for a bar code from the E-gift certificate to scan which wasn't present on the certificate. He stated that I should have gotten an email with that bar code. However, I didn't have no such email. So, I had to pay the full amount for the massage due to not having the bar code. This is the second incident that Massage Envy has money grabbed by not honoring there certificates. This company should be CLOSED down for the bad practices that they uphold as it relates to taking clients money and not honoring their products. I would advise others not to patronize this company, no matter the location. Because from my experience and others, their business practices to respect and care for their customers professionally is less than par. I have tried several times to give Massge Envy the benefit of the doubt at other locations, but every time they continue to disappoint to no satisfaction. The mere fact that they take one's money without providing service or options to rectify the problem is unethical and the company is doomed to close it's doors because of this repeated reputation of being less than honorable to their customers.

Just Terrible!
December 25, 2022

I made the mistake of signing up for a subscription for my mom and I and not only did they lie to me repeatedly about how many massages I had left, but dictated when I coulde use them. BUT THATS NOT THE WORSE PART. My biggest issue is that they continue every month without fail to charge my card EVERY MONTH despite the fact that my contract ended in April 2022! They claim every time that they have no record of charging me and that my information has been deleted. I've been disputing charges for months now and had to get an entirely different card! DO NOT go to this place. Location doesn't matter because I've used multiple ones in NC. The staff is rude, therapists are never available, and if you have a contract they tell you when you can get a massage and never stop charging you! Go elsewhere! They're not the only place to get a massage. You will regret it!

This office signed me up for a 12 month contract and signed my signature (which was not mine) to a contract I had no idea I was in. When they called to cancel my appointment (for the second time) I found out I had this 12 month contract. I had paid upfront for the 3 package massage and was trying to use this - although I could never get an appointment...and then found out I had not been using the other appointments, because I didn't even know that someone had signed me up. They are crooks. They charged my AMEX for the last 5 months, and won't give me a credit. They are conducting FRAUD and try and upgrade you and when you say NO, they forge your signature and start charging your credit card. DON"T TRUST THESE PEOPLE. DONT GO TO MASSAGE ENVY. They have horrible policies and you can't even go to other locations. Read the fine print. They are crooks.

Last Christmas, my friend spent $100 for me at Message Envy because they said they added an additional $20 gift card. So, when I came in for the massage service, they said that there wer totally $120 in my account. So, the 1st section cost me $60. They recommended coming in 6 month for the 2nd session at the same price ($60). But when I came back for the 2nd message, they said $20 in my account was expired. So, only $40 left. Meanwhile, they also said the hour rate increase from $60 to $85. I asked them if the $20 gift card had an expiration date why not let me use that first. I was not happy with their dishonesty, asked for returning the remaining money back, but they said you have to talk to the manager. I called the Sherwood Manager several times, finally reached her. She talked with a very cold tone by saying she cannot do anything since my friend spent money in Beaverton, a city in the same Portland metropolitan area. I had to call the owner and left a message. But the owner has never called me back. So, don't spend money there. Especially, during the holiday season, they tried to let you spend more money to get so-called gift card. But they play tricks. Vey unprofessional and dishonest business.

While getting a facial at the Culver City location, told the lady giving me the facial that it was burning. She immediately removed it. My face being very sensitive we decided to just wash off all product and to put some soothing moisturizer on it. She said she would leave something at the front desk for me. When I checked out there was a small package for me with moisturizer and sun screen. I use the products for a few days and my skin was peeling like from a sunburn. The products were working and my dead skin was coming off very nicely.

I went back three days later and the same manager was there and recalled the incident. She went in the back and came out with another escapologist who asked what did I want and I told her that just a little sample bottle of the calming cream that I had gotten the other day. After taking a quick look at my face she said she could not help me and that I should go to a dermatologist. I wasn't complaining about the burning or even the way my face was peeling just wanted a little bit more of the cream I would've gladly paid for it. She said she couldn't recommend anything and that I should see a dermatologist. I took it to mean that she wanted me to go to a doctor and then of course, naturally I would have to sue because it's not my fault that I was going to the dermatologist. My opinion was it was no worse than a mild sunburn and I really liked the cream, I would've paid for some. She made no attempt to help me. Her name is Rita, I had gotten a facial from her before and was not pleased. I am going to have them put on my file that I am never to have to speak to Rita ever again. Poor customer service, rude, and basically suggested that I should sue for a minor peeling after a facial. Rita does not give a good facial, I've had her before, and she does not give good customer service. I love my masseuse, and my regular escapologist, that is why they even get 2 stars. Avoid Rita if you can!

Horrendous customer service. I have been trying for two weeks to cancel membership. Belonged for 4 years. Am moving to country with no franchise. They are Using every ruse in the book: our "cancellation manager is off today". Would love to have her schedule. She apparently never works. No one else in the entire store is capable of canceling a membership. Was calling corporate in front of employees when owner magically appeared and was able to cancel immediately. However, today I was charged once again- and ten dollars more than usual. Would be funny if it weren't so pitiful. Don't enroll!

Awful and rushed
October 17, 2022

I have had many massages over the years, but I've never wanted one to be over as much as the one I just had at this location. I got there early but it started late. The therapist seemed to rush through everything, and she spent literally about a third of the time wrapping me, unwrapping me, tucking me, and untucking me in the sheets, stop already with the wrapping and tucking. Its almost like they are trained to waste time with all the wrapping and tucking nonsense. She was bouncing from one part of the body to another and than back again instead of simply focusing on one area and finishing there. It was so rushed and it was so un-relaxing, I was actually getting annoyed by the end of it.

The worst part was when it did end, she actually said to me that she was sorry she didn't get to do my arms and hands as she ran out of time. When I asked why that happened, she said she spent too much time working on other things. What part was that? When I looked at my watch, the whole thing was less than 45 minutes. Gee I thought I booked an hour. The actually told me at the counter that 1 hour massages are actually 50 minutes, but mine wasn't even.

This is a Burke WIlliams wanna be but save your money. Im not trying to be a $#*!, but seriously this was the worst massage experience I have ever had. Too bad.

This is the worst place in the Boise/Meridian area to get a massage. It is literally impossible to schedule online - no availability for 90 days, and they don't let you schedule any further out. Kept calling to use a gift certificate from my kids, they had paid $150, and Massage Envy promotion added a $40 voucher, so I thought for $190 I'd get at least 3 massages. Instead, I got one. When I tried to schedule, they never had times I could go, and I was not being picky, just wanted evenings or weekend. You can't schedule more than 90 days out by phone, either. Finally got an appointment, but the $40 voucher expired after 90 days. Massage Envy would not honor it. Also found out a 50 minute massage is $120! So without the voucher, I only had enough for one massage - I just gave the extra $30 to the therapist as a tip because I was not interested in spending any more money with this sleezy company. Their program is NOT a good value - $70 per month for a 50 minute service, and you have to commit for an entire year. I know from reading other reviews that they will take clients to court if they try to stop the contract because they can never get an appointment. What a terrible business philosophy. Support some other non-franchise massage business!

Used the service a lot before I moved further away, I ended with approx 75 massages paid for and not used. I used the service where they only charge $10 a month for a few months, but they only allow you to use it once, even with the huge amount of massages I had, they would not let me use it again. So I had no choice but to cancel because I paid waaay too much money for a membership I couldn't use because of travel time to a location. But did not see the paper work they had to email me to "finalize" my cancellation until about a week after their "deadline" to sign and they charged me for another month. I reached out and asked if they could please extend me that one month curtesy, and they adamantly would not. I find that soo hard to believe after being a customer for soo many years and keeping their membership in hopes of using it more. They lost a customer over $78. I will never use the service again. Avoid going to this place
September 7, 2022

My wife was a member of this place at cinco ranch for over two years. Because of medical condition she couldn't go to one appointment and they still charged her. Left a message for a manager to call her, but they never called. Bad and unprofessional customer service.

I have canceled my Massage Envy membership. I've been a member for years and, for the last year, I can't find one slot for a massage - but they don't mind taking my money month after month. I can only transfer points to one person every 6 months. I lose all my points if I cancel my membership... wow. I KNOW they are having difficulty finding staff but then they should allow members to suspend payments until we can actually make appointments.

Membership
August 17, 2022

I became a member in Dec. 2021 and the facial I received made me break out so bad that I ended up seeing a dermatologist. I called to cancelled 3 times however, they continue to bill my credit card. They promised you that you can cancelled your membership after 3 months, not true! Verry hard to cancel your membership, beware and DO NOT DO MEMBERSHIP. Massage Envy in Bayonne.

They need to remain the company Massage Scam. There are no available appointments to 2 months out but you still have to pay the membership fee. This is a class action lawsuit in the making. Don't sign up for this scam go elsewhere.

Worst place ever to get an appointment, they have no problem taking your money for a monthly membership but when it comes time to make an appointment they're booked or times and dates don't click. Short staffed. They don't mind referring you to Bedford qich is 30 min away. Sure no problem. So not only do you pay for a membership they can't keep, they want you to drive 20 miles out of your way to maybe get an appt. Not bad at 5 bucks a gallon. So bottom line the paying customer keeps paying more to accommodate the buisness thats suppose to be in customer service field. Unreal. Horrible place

Buyer Beware
July 21, 2022

If you sign up for their membership, they can change your monthly charges without your approval. Also, since they were closed during COVID, my sessions built-up. They offer a "freeze-plus" option that will allow you to use your session as long as you are willing to pay $10/month (for something that you've already paid for). You either have to pay for the freeze-plus or go back to your regular monthly fee if you want to use your sessions. Then after you've been on 'freeze-plus' for 6 months, they will automatically start charging you the full monthly membership fee and will not refund your money if you call and tell them that you didn't want to go back on full-membership. I believe that this is an illegal action, since they closed their doors during COVID and you didn't have an option to use your sessions. I highly advice not joining any Massage Envy.
