Envato.com operating under Codecanyon.net refused to refund and extorts me for money (unlock my account) which they are holding my purchased software at ransom.

I bought an Android template sold through Codecanyon.net.

The software is not working. The author agrees to refund and has refunded to Codecanyon.net months ago.

But Codecanyon.net refused to to refund the same to me.

Eventually I sought help from the payment processor PayPal.com. And PayPal.com reversed the payment to me since Codecanyon.net didn't even response.

However, Codecanyon.net locked up my account and as result, I couldn't access several software I have purchased.

Codecanyon.net has been EXTORTING me illegally by stating: "Unless you manually paid us again, we won't unlock your account."

Seeking help from authoroties to compel Codecanyon.net to unlock my account immediately, and to ban their business from further harming consumers ilegally and criminally.

I made the mistake of clicking when Envato popped up on my screen when I was looking for a specific program. The popup looked like what I needed. How tricky of them. I spoke with my computer guy later that day, and he said that the program was not what I want and directed me to the program I needed.

I didn't use anything from Envato and immediately asked for a refund. Envato said it would take five days to process my refund. The next thing I know, in two days, I receive an email that said Envato closed my case because I hadn't responded.

I answered Envato asserting that I had responded and I still wanted my refund. I paid them through Paypal and asked Paypal for the refund because Paypal has a refund policy.

Paypal shouldn't allow deceptive companies like Envato to use Paypal. So far, Paypal hasn't done anything to help me.

I may close my Paypal accounts. I have been a Paypal customer since it first started. Paypal should treat me like a loyal customer. They aren't.

After reading other people's negative Envato experiences, I now understand the mafioso-like greed of Envato. Envato has their entire system set up to lead one around in circles but never issue refunds or programs that perform the functions Envato promotes them to perform.

It's a money-pit.

Envato's system is designed to confuse you and collect your money.

Then after you have been "had" they tell you that they closed your dispute - because you didn't answer them - even if you did.

Envato leads you around in circles, never delivering a quality product while charging you money.

Envato is as bad as it gets. AVOID THEM LIKE THE DEVILS THEY ARE.

They tried to steal $825 from me over the weekend all the while threatening me if I didn't close the dispute! So I took it to my bank who in return took all the evidence I had and made they're decision basic of the laws of E-commerce and all websites! They thought I would shut up and take it! Wrong! I'm a disabled vet who only gets $734 a month in disability. I purchased a script for $105 that did t work and was being lied to everyday about it not working! Was threaten twice via email! Still have them! They approved the refund as soon as I filed dispute and sent first threat. I closed the dispute cause didn't want to lose my account and support I've paid $825 for over the last month! They protect scammers and shun legit buyers! Codester is way better then this site! And it's littered as many scammers as this company too! But you'll actually for your refund if something isn't working! The admin actually does their job and investigate the dispute! Not threaten then lie right after that! Oh by the way, I'm still waiting on this "approved refund"! Scammers in this company! Beware! Every script comes with hidden fees that the admin tells you if you pay off this site you can't get it back! There should be way for the scammers to promote this option. All charges should be included. Not $10-$20k setup fees on discord or other sites! As of now this company has been reported to the BBB in the states and their country as well!

I've been an Envato customer for a few years with no real issues. As long as you download a theme and get lucky you probably won't have a problem. But if you pay for and download a theme that doesn't fit the look of your site you'll see how shady these people are. They will not refund you. If you're lucky they'll offer you credits. Why would I want to stick with a company that tells me I might be a crook and can't give me my money back for a product I don't want. With Envato they assume you're guilty & will steal their theme if you get a refund. What other company can treat a customer like that and get away with it? Seriously, look elsewhere for your next website theme. I wish I had.

I have purchased several themes from this company all of which look excellent in the ads, but I have never yet had one which works straight out of the box or did not have some sort of problem or another! Support is costly and extremely useless (if you actually get any) and often there are hidden costs involved with the theme which was not made clear at the time of purchase. The company also operate via several names and all claim to be unrelated so that when you contact one, they pass the buck to another.
I certainly wouldn't recommend them and advise would be purchasers to shop elsewhere.

Zero customer support, a total ripoff! Purchased a template and never could get support from them. Finally reached them by phone and they verbally said they would refund, they didn't.

CAUTION with Envato. They give you a hard time if you need a refund, even if you have a problem that is refundable by the refund policy. And if you pay with paypal, you pay 2$ extra but if you RAISE a DISPUTE you entire account is BLOCKED, with all of the products you bought. They don't abid the law. If you decide to buy something on Envato, buy knowing you are not supported by them and if you need, you will not get a refund without fighting.

The themes from this website are actually decent, I think they offer great value, but overpriced. The reason I am rating this 3 stars is purely because of terrible customer service and some shady business practices. I was trying to contact customer service because I had a question about how to find and activate a certain feature on the theme I purchased. First they ask me to verify my purchase, which requires me to then log into my envato account, so I went and logged in, however, it then said that my account was blocked, so I contacted envato by email to which they responded

"Regrettably, after further investigation, we're using our discretion and will not be re-enabling your account.
Regards,
Envato Market Help Team"

This didn't help me at all, so I replied asking them why my account is blocked to which they replied

"I understand you'd like to contest regarding the decision that has been made on your account. As it turns out, we do not access to this information and it has already been decided that your account will not be re-enabled.
Please note that this decision is final."

Seriously... Don't use this company, so useless.
In addition, i had never logged into envato before, I purchased the theme, downloaded it and activated it. I didnt need to log into envato, so it really makes me wonder if it's done to avoid refunds.
It really is disappointing because the theme was actually decent in my opionion. And I was looking forward to using them in the future.

STAY AWAY FROM ENVATO! I bought a theme from roarthem on envato for my website from. After downloading it I installed on shopify using the roar theme installer, but when I started to edit the theme, out of the blue started crashing and I had to remove it and reinstalled again and restart the editing process! I did this 2 or 3 times and after numerous hours of editing, i was sure this was will continue crashing, it was a complete waste of time and effort. So I try to contact the seller and I wait until the next day for a reply, the thing is they never reach out to me. After seen this I requested a refund from PayPal and apparently the seller did notice that RIGHT AWAY! Long story short; I was locked out of envato for that reason and I still don't have my money back. My advice to you is to STAY AWAY FROM THIS PEOPLE, STAY AWAY FROM ENVATO, they are very negligent and have zero skill in customer service and lack of responsibility.
