As a web-page developer I have purchased many themes over the years from Envato under different accounts and never had a problem until this recent theme I purchased for a client. The "theme" is garbage and due to time constraints I had to purchase another theme from another company. They will find many reasons to not refund your money, but as a 'kind gesture" they gave me a credit to my account. I wanted a refund, which according to Ulai in customer service "Sadly, cash is only applicable for broken/malfunctioning or not as described items. I am afraid your request does not fall under this category." Even if the theme designers neglect to tell you there are no color options, etc. I now have to go through the process of a charge-back from my bank. Even more time and energy wasted. I will never do business again with this company unless this issue is resolved to my satisfaction.

Website is a Scam

Downloads don't work properly. You basically pay for nothing. The representative then will not give a refund. I would recommend never using this company. It is not reliable.

This website is a scam. It says in terms and conditions you can get a refund if the theme doesn't work properly. Well they do not honour this term and condiitons and will delete your bad review of the theme.

I've been a member of Envato since 2013. Things were good until last year when I noticed that the 1-star reviews I left on plugins were removed when I went back to look at my purchases.

Strange, I thought. I never got an email or message saying they were removed.

So I left another 1-star review on both the products that I had issues with. A couple weeks later I looked and those 1-star reviews were gone AGAIN.

The fact that Envato is removing bad reviews and keeping good ones is bad business practice. Makes me wonder if I the reason I had such TERRIBLE experiences with those sellers & their items is because Envato deleted all the negative reviews for them.

Take the reviews with a grain of salt and be ready to lose your money in the case that something doesn't work. And if you leave a negative review, check it to make sure it's still there. Odds are it's probably been deleted.

EDIT: 2 hours after I left this review, I was contacted by Envato for the first time ever about my review. They said the review had been removed because it lacked sufficient information & linked me to a page with review guidelines.

My previous last 3 reviews all met those guidelines.

So I left one last review, copying exact text from other bad reviews left on other products that were not removed to test my theory.

Guess who's review was removed again, for the 4th time? That's right. And I did NOT get an email this time when it was removed as per usual.

This is very unethical and I will never purchase from Envato again. Good job losing a loyal customer. I hope many more will follow.

I have purchased several themes through this website. I made the mistake of purchasing the "fastest" shopify theme. It was completely unusable so I requested a refund through envato. The theme creator of course denied the claim, envato did nothing and so I disputed the charge on paypal. Envato has now locked my account and I no longer have access to any of the themes I have purchased. AVOID DOING BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE.

I purchased a template that had very poor coding. I requested a refund and the author replied that I was stupid because I didn't know how to use it. (How does aligning a logo to the left using 363px padding sound!?).

I reached out to the customer support team (SUPER hard to get a hold of) and they said I had to raise a request with the author. I did, the author rejected it.

Then, you have a 5 day waiting period so that you can "Dispute" it, and the Envato team gets involved.

After 5 days, the button was still not there.

When I finally reached out, they said "bad code" is not a reason enough to get a refund. For a template, bad code is not enough!? What do I want a template for if it's not kickstart a project? What good does a poor code do if it will take me longer to fix than to launch?

Ridiculous.

CONCLUSION: Envato doesn't want anyone reaching out to them, obviously, that's why they make it so hard to get in touch with them. And if the product is faulty, you will never get a refund, they will just say any reason is not a good enough reson.

My advice: DON'T USE THIS PLATFORM!

Terrible service

I bought content but couldn't fully download it. Never had this issue with other websites.
When I tried submitting for help, I didn't get any help, other then an email that they recieved my request. It's been 4 days since with still no help.

Terrible customer service, they sold me a product that broke my business website. Immediately within one hour of purchase, told them right away and wanted refund can't use that. They refused because I didn't show proof. What, you want me to put your damaged file back into my system to ruin again. I have file a dispute with the banl and complaint who are in Australia with these thieves. They offered a solution to buy a different theme from their company. Why would I do that with a company who doesn't refund after an hour bought. I don't want to work with people like that. That's extortion.

Don't buy themes from this company. The theme creator never gets back to you for the questions. They said giving them 4-5 days but I have not received any response. Asked for the refund, but they did not refund at all. They are playing game by sending emails back and forth for refund. Ultimately they never did it. Be careful when buy from this company. Stay away from them.

These people are scammers

These are some slick con artists. Neither my boyfriend or I did any business with these people, we did not initiate contact, or buy anything from them. They legally obtained my boyfriend's debit care number and fraudulently debited almost $72 out of his account. Neither one of us actually received anything for the "purchase," but a sore rear. They apparently were fishing for information from either my boyfriend or me when one of us was on the internet. I had never heard of them, nor had my boyfriend. We did not even know what they did and I'm still not entirely sure what they sell or do. When I researched who they were, I had a hard time located their "site"and understanding what they sold. It seemed that they either sold software for building your own website, or your paid them to build and/or maintain your own website or just something to do with software. Neither my boyfriend nor I have tried to build our own website or anything like that. We found out that they were based in Australia. Conveniently, they do not have a phone number (and even if they did, we do not have international calling on our cell phones) and there is not a customer service person or department that one could easily access to contact them regarding any problems. I had to be routed to several pages and go round and round to finally find an e-mail address to contact. I got a response within a day or so and explained our problem. They apologized but said that they could not help us. They said that they could take our money, but it would be IMPOSSIBLE to find the transaction so we could receive our money back. I went back and forth with them a few times and the person I was conversing with said pretty much the same thing several times. Well, I happened to get a survey e-mailed to me asking to share my experience with their customer service. I told them that basically they were thieves that stole from people and I was not happy with the "assistance" that I received or rather did not receive. Usually, most companies send these surveys to customers for quality control just to see how they are doing and so they can make some positive changes to enhance the customer experience. Well, not these guys. The same person that I was conversing with through e-mails send me an angry message and told me again and very angrily that they were truly sorry that this happened, but they could not help me (so basically "how dare me tell the truth and tell them about themselves.) They were angry that I was not eager and grateful to have been screwed over by them. There are far too many fraudulent companies and fraudulent dealings between companies and/or individuals nowadays. I am personally tired of getting ripped off by people like this. Do NOT do business with these people and it may be a good idea to up your security so companies or people can not obtain your debit card information so they can't steal from you. These people have their never and they are crooks of the highest degree.

Downloaded video comps from Envato... all good, client approved. Paid for Hi res versions via PayPal, from Envato, went to download only to find I had been locked out of my account. "As a security precaution you need to confirm ownership of your PayPal account to access Envato Market. We've sent an email to xxxxxxxxxx which contains a link to re-enable your account." I received no email so I contacted via Envato Help because there is no phone number you can call for help. Finally got an reply that was no help. 5 days later still locked out of my account and cannot download the files I paid for. Had to find all new video files from another company. Client not happy as they had approved and then had to approve different videos at the last minute. Envato wasted days of my time and nearly cost me a very good client. On the up side I will use Videezy again.

Spammers' paradise

Envato author blatantly spamming in support emails, i. E. in info click here with link to spam email. Refund refused by author. Refund refused by envato management who don't seem to care at all about spammers.

I buy a very basic joomla website. It never work and technical support of the authors was a mess. You couldn't contact anyone by phone.

I purchased a themeforest template for a new website by Envato. The site they sent me they expressed was drag and drop and it never was, they totally mislead me. This cost USD75 and when I expressed that this was not drag and drop, they encouraged me to spend another USD50 to set it up through one of their provider and then another USD45 to buy drag and drop software. This product was never capable of doing what they said. They then have refused to refund me despite the fact I am now locked out. Ripped out and very unethical behaviour by Envato. NEVER EVER WILL USE AGAIN.

Poor service

I purchased a theme that I found out wouldn't work with my Wordpress plan. They wouldn't refund the purchase even though I contacted them within 30 minutes of making the purchase. The site is confusing and misleading.
