Bought 2 plugins that did not work.
Emailed the developer and support team within hours with the error codes.
No reply from the developer on the errors or how to fix it.

Have now been mailing back and forth with their support for more than 2 weeks.
They just stall the time, keep asking for questions what was already sent and simple do not want to give a refund.

From the reviews here multiple people have the same problem to get their refund.

I paid $60 and downloaded a theme that didn't work with my hosting. I requested a refund twice and it took them two weeks to get back to me. Once they did they said that they, of course, couldn't give me a refund because it was downloaded, but then it was "removed from your downloads page and all licenses associated with the file are now void" since they gave me a credit. So of course they can void downloads but they won't actually give refunds for them, even if they don't work. Stay away.

1- We was purchased Theme Oxygen already but installation had error of missing style. Css; we purchased another new licence still the same error.
2- We paid $60 extra for installing 3 basic plugins that if the name of plugins where disclosed before installation, surly we wold not pay.
3- We Paid installation fee because they did not included style. Css, still they applied the installation job to a person with no proven skill, very plain installation and missing some setup.
4- Very poor customer service.
5- we paid $119 overall and wasted a lot of times because they pushed us toward that. It's the case that we could do all jobs in less than half an hour. NOT GOOD WAY TO EARN MONEY.

I have purchased a script from Envato. After trying to get it to work I have contacted the coder of the script but he never responded. Then I contacted the support - which is not easy 'cause Envato has hidden support and refund links very well - they could not manage the coder of the script to answer me. Then I contacted PayPal and asked them to help me. Envato managed to get PayPal not to give me my money back. So now I am out of my money and own a $#*!ty script that does not work.

STAY THE FUDGE AWAY FROM ENVATO!

Worst company ever. I bought a theme from one of their developers, the theme was riddled with problems and did not work. There was no support, no replies to my messages, nothing. I requested a refund and it was refused by the author, so I disputed it with Envato and they started asking for screenshots and such - by this time I have purchased a theme elsewhere and installed it, so doing this would mean undoing my work and installing their terrible theme again, time I was not willing to waste. They refused my request for a refund.

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE COMPANY. WORST SERVICE. WORST SUPPORT.

DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM!

I just bought a website template on Envato and it was falsely advertised, half of the files were from an old previous version that had problems, which were not resolved. When I discovered this I created a chargeback in PayPal and Envato swiftly blocked my account and I received this email:

"Your Envato Market account has been automatically locked as the result of a payment dispute or chargeback.
Access to your account and items will be locked as a security precaution until the matter is resolved.

I can understand them not wanting people to steal their products, but this is robbery.

Any company of this size would do their own credit card processing. The reason this company hides behind paypal IMO is so they can deny refunds and prevent chargebacks for the unsupported buggy useless software they sell.

Do NOT buy from this company unless you can afford to throw the money away, do not rely on getting any degree of support from them and be prepared to get what would be reasonable requests for support and refunds ignored completely.

I would urge everyone scammed by Envato to file a report with Victorian Trading standards as their activities are unethical, unreasonable and possibly borderline illegal IMO.

In brief - avoid.

They don't care of quality, most of the modules/codes I bought on Envato were not working properly, I tried to complain but they didn't care... don't buy from them, don't support scammers.

Envato uses a customer unfriendly payment system which is rigid and borderline unethical. They require that your payment be processed with additional processing fees unless you buy "credits" which are only purchased in increments of $10. Furthermore all refunds are not refunded to your original payment but into "credits" that must be used at envato. If you choose to buy another item with those refunded credits you must complete the purchase with credits and cannot use PayPal or a credit card to complete the difference. This means in many cases you are forced to buy more credits in increments of $10 ($20) minimum. This forces the customer to waste money amd I consider it a form of legalized theft.

When I confro thier customer service about these issues, which are only reached by email hour later, they had little regard for my concern and offered no resolution.

Overall I would not use envato as a seller nor buyer as this company should not be rewarded for it's unethical and unfriendly business practices.

Purchased multiple products here now, but that doesn't make a difference for them. I had a product I was not satisfied with, so requested a refund. They hide behind the author and don't care about complaints.

I opened a PayPal dispute, just to be sure to get my money back and immediately I was locked out of my account where my paid products are. The only refund they offer is store credit, after I already purchased a replacement in full trust.

Now I'm not able to get to any of my products. One big scam...

You are not purchasing from Envato, you are purchasing from code 'authors' via Envato (that's how the story goes when you have a problem to try to deal with). So purchasing is a gamble, despite the claim that products are 'quality tested and verified by Envato' who take no responsibility for that claim. Roll the dice (pay your money) to find out if a product even works, then waste your time fussing around with a lot of garbage before discovering what it often is - garbage. Place your money in fire and watch it burn.

SuaveMy experience with Envato was nothing short of a 2 month train wreck. They promise the world and deliver you a To-go box of garbage!
I purchased a Theme from them and then it was my problem to set it up and put it all together. I paid for the "Extras" since I am not a computer sauve person and they wanted me to pay more and more. It was an absolute disaster trying to get a hold of anyone on the phone.
All the emailing and trying to coordinate with my designer - who also shared that she has never worked with such an awful company - took way too much time and effort considering what I received.
Please stay away, you will thank me later!

Be super careful when purchasing product from envato since you will never get a refund. And if you found a product you just need to get, take time and read the author's open forum where clients are asking for updates to fix bugs or reporting bugs. If the author states they do not offer any answers or support in their forums, they are basically trying to hide their buggy scripts. Now that Envato brought in 6 months maximum support, it seems that many envato authors are releasing updates that purposely have bugs so that you have to pay for extra support which costs nearly the same amount as your original purchase! For example, an author will have an update that can potentially damage your existing code/website and you will have to buy their support to fix their scam. Do your research! Huge scamming going on by several Envato authors. Buy at your own risk!

There are ethical authors who do not scam you but they are getting more hard to find and why you need to thoroughly check their reviews AND their open forums before considering purchase. If author does not answer basic questions from their users, do not purchase from them, they are scammers.
