Terrible customer support... none. They won't do anything for you. I suddenly could not get in my yahoo mail after about 20 years and any attempts to verify or change the password did not work. Could only access a chat and an e-mail and I just got canned responses: sorry, we can't do anything... just open up a new e-mail account (and lose tons of important e-mails with important information that hackers could be using while you no longer have access to your account. Totally uncaring and not willing to put themselves out at all. Cannot talk to a live person. I am NOT going to open up another yahoo e-mail account. I am going to Gmail. And I'm not going to give up getting my e-mail account back, even if I have to get an attorney. Horrible experience! I am not giving sitejabber the password to my e-mail account! WHAT IS WITH THAT?

When I log in, I am repeatedly sent to a page that says I must enter a phone number to be used for account recovery purposes. It's also labeled as "required," and won't let me continue with the login without entering a valid phone number. I've previously encountered a similar issue where Yahoo was demanding another email address.

I found a way that I can bypass it and access my email, but it's a concern that Yahoo is "requiring" other email addresses or my phone number before it will allow me access to my account. Yahoo Mail is a "free" service that gets its revenue by adding advertisements to the web page. Asking for my detailed contact information on a pretext of account security is reprehensible. Ask me for a code word I can enter to verify my identity, or a series of verification questions like reputable companies use.

There was a story in the news recently about a social media platform that was fined for asking for phone numbers for "account security" but which was actually using them for telemarketing. I don't remember what company it was. I will NOT give Yahoo my phone number.

One other thing. If my spam folder is empty and I open it, recently Yahoo has started spamming me with videos inside the folder frame. Really? I check the spam folder and they think I'm so bored that I'm going to watch whatever video they put in there? Fail.

What a rip off
September 4, 2019

I was unable to access my email account on a public computer. The message was I needed a key code, which was to be text to me. That never happened. So I called Yahoo to see if they could fix the problem. I was told that I must have clicked on an ad (which I did not) and someone was able to hack into my account. The hackers were located in Pennsylvania and New Mexico. But, for the tune of $100.00, they could fix the problem! What? So I hung up. I called them again with a different Yahoo number for customer service. The guy put me on hold immediately after I starting explaining the situation. I called back and the same charming person hung up on me. I then called a different customer service number. Spoke to someone that said my account had been hacked by someone in Ohio and Iowa. What happened to Pennsylvania and New Mexico? But for the tune if $149.99 Yahoo could fix the problem for me. Four hours later, the price went up $50.00. I see no suspicious active on the account while using the account on my phone, still getting mail that belongs to me. I do believe Yahoo is just out to make a buck, but, they aren't going to make it off of me. I now have all important emails sent to my Comcast account. There you go Yahoo. What a scam they have going!

I am angry. I have noticed that all of the emails in my inbox received before 10 Aug 2019 have disappeared. This action was not taken by myself. Some of these emails contain important documents that I need. I tried to call the UK yahoo help centre, the lady answered the call was rude too. Can Yahoo restore my emails?
In addition to this, Yahoo email has a very bad junk filter.

I am beyond angry. Please keep in mind that it is 1 am and I am trying to access to my ACT scores which will determine LITERALLY THE REST OF MY LIFE! Yahoo mail automatically logged itself out on both my phone and my laptop and because those are the only two devices I have my yahoo mail account is on, I can not log in. I would very much like to know WHO decided that would be a good security feature so I can deck them in the face. If someone can help me with this, please please please reach out because if I don't receive help I literally will not know my ACT scores and my future will be ruined.

The new version of Yahoo Mail is an eye and productivity killer. The layout and color choices are all problematic (and mostly either too bright or too dark). The contacts area is painful and only a small section instead of a full page. Impossible to find all the functionality of the former version (cannot seem to add or delete from the list without deleting entire contact). And the net as well as Yahoo's amusingly titled Customer Feedback section is full of detailed lists of the problems. Answers from yahoo: 1. We are working on that 2. corporate propaganda that essentially says this is better and you should like it. Unable to find another free email client with any useful functionality. Even Outlook as become a victim of bored developers (I say this cause why else would they mess us a good product. Many people are still wanting Outlook Express which was killed years ago.) Suggestion to webmanagers: People hate change. If you want to force us to change at least do the groundwork of some useful user testing. Cause you obviously currently do not. Man, Yahoo sucks so much.

Not only are security breaches VERY often with Yahoo (making you change your password every other month is definitely not ideal to say the least), but on top of that they can't even manage to create a decen ui that they stick with for over a couple of months. But of course these are just the SMALLEST problems. When it comes down to it, Yahoo! Mail is garbage at its peak form. After not using one of my accounts for JUST UNDER 1 year, it was deleted and UNRECOVERABLE. This account had messages from deceased relatives AND business files AND financial documents that I NEEDED. Once again, not to mention the many linked accounts from other websites that were created using said *DELTED* email account. This is ridiculous. Why in the world would you delete someone's important life history over a couple gigabytes of server storage? Alas, this is still one of the least concerns of Yahoo! Mail. On top of all of those under-exaggerated issues stands yet another. Lag AND latency. Forget about sending efficient and fast emails -- even if your $1200 custom built computer can load the compose message popup in under a minute, you won't be actually sending it anytime soon. It can take up to five or ten minutes to receive and send emails, which is just ridiculous for any e-mail service in this day and age, let-alone a billion dollar institution. Overall I'd give Yahoo! Mail a negative review if I could. Absolute and utter trash and I will be transferring EVERYTHING to Gmail. Including any memberships or accounts tied to Yahoo.

P. S: They also wiped multiple other accounts of mine out with again under 90 days of inactivity. STAY AWAY FROM YAHOO!

July 26, 2019

I was told by yahoo to set up a code to get into my yahoo account. When I upgraded my phone I could no longer use my code anymore. I even tried to use my password but it only would take the code. I had a 2nd email set no luck. I called yahoo for a solution nothing they couldn't help me I had to buy a package plan as soon as I payed they reset it. I told the guy it was a scam and I won't be paying for another month so he could cancel it. The guy then told me I had to cancel after 24 hrs. I called back to cancel they didn't. They charged me 5 times I gave them the name of the rep I talked to. I keep getting the same manager who keeps saying the same thing NOTHING!

They can't recover my account even if they know im the right owner, they ask for 5 different website or company inbox or that mails you and you give it to them but they say it's not enough info, you give them your phone number which wasn't active as it cost money and they see that you have the phone number linked to the account and still doesn't believe you are the owner. You show them ID and other information to proof who you are, nope, doesn't work. You are inside the account via auto logging since you lost your account and are in borrow time, you ask them to sent a reset password to your inbox to click the link. NOPE THEY STILL CAN'T.

WORST PIECE OF $#*! OF A COMPANY. Stick with gmail.

Yahoo! Mail is one of the oldest web-based email programs and remains one of the best. It is powerful, fast, easy to use and everything works. It has the best customer support *******277 team who resolve every single query faced by their loyal customers. It also works on almost any computer platform, including mobile, and comes with more storage space than any normal user could use. Although each message and the sum of all attachments added cannot exceed 25 MB.

Yahoo! Mail is really useful when you have multiple email accounts. You can access POP and IMAP accounts, and you can even forward mail to another account.

Yahoo! Mail can also automatically block spam, but it does not do so perfectly. Often, spam arrives and sometimes even marks a legitimate email as spam. But it also comes with custom spam filters, and users can block specific email addresses.

Yahoo! Mail also has cutting-edge security features, as well as automatic virus scanning.
