Logged on after starting a business, account blocked.
No reason, no contact.
3 days later account blocked and would not be unblocked because our abuse department says so, no more information is known.
Why didn't you just ask me to upgrade?
Where is your customer service or support?
My business took ages to set up and you can ruin it by just not allowing me in? All my receipts, invoices.
DO NOT USE!
This email provider is a Joke. I have 2 accounts with them. One personal and another one business. The first time they blocked my personal account and now the have blocked my business account due to activity, what activity, I am a logo designer! The email maybe free but they are not to be trusted. You will setup an account and after a few months they will block you. Its not worth the stress and unprofessional service you will get from this provider.
I attempted to create an email account for a small business I am starting, since they have somewhat personalized domain names. Once account was created, I get a notification saying it was blocked due to irregular activity and to contact support. I sent an email explaining the situation and they refused to unblock my account. I sent a follow-up email and have not yet received a response. Upon further research from my end, I discovered that this happens quite often to individuals creating a new account, and even to individuals with existing accounts; I heard of one individual in a similar situation (business owner) who spent three weeks with support trying to regain access (takes about 24 hours for a response).
Honestly, I'm glad this happened to me as soon as I created the account. I cannot imagine my rage if this happened while my business is open. I can seriously lose clients. Anyways, I moved to Gmail. I get that my domain is not personalized, but a) I'm sure my clients will excuse a small business having a Gmail account and b) it's reliable.
In conclusion, DO NOT use mail.com. If you are currently a user, I'd suggest you back up everything and switch to a different provider ASAP before you are next. As a matter of fact, if they decide to unblock my account the second time around, I won't use it.
If you decide to use this, do so at your own risk.
UPDATE:
They reversed the block, but I still closed the account.
Keeps saying technical error. Absolute worst service ever. Very frustrating to say the least. Done using it!
I don't email often but this email service constantly shuts down. Can't send or receive email. Customer service is disgraceful.
I am currently a paid subscriber elsewhere and was considering moving to mail.com, first as a a free account holder, and then possibly a paid subscriber. However, like many others, my email account has been blocked immediately after it was created. I consider myself lucky that this happened so quickly before I moved any business to mail.com I have been a customer of 1&1 both in Canada and in Europe and I am fully aware of the unscrupulous tactics they used to charge their customers. I have long closed those accounts now. As a seasoned IT professional, I can say that the IT services industry is plagued by robbers and scavengers like 1&1 and mail.com, or the few giant greedy corporates whose product is you - yourself.
Still waiting for access to my account. Automatically generated responses are the way they deal with hacked accounts
I've been using mail.com for over 10 years and have 10 addresses. They've added paid premium accounts and have made life really hard for free account users. The iOS mail app is no longer supported, I cannot access all of my accounts and the reset password link takes me to a customer service link which they then send a generic faq page totally irrelevant to resetting my password. I've added accounts to my main address but these are deleted randomly and adding them requires my password which I cannot reset. Customer service has so far been soo frustratingly useless they send generic crap and obviously have not read my issue to answer it specifically. I DO NOT recommend...
I didn't realize my email account would get deleted due to inactivity. I regularly used my mail account to sign up for games and etc, and it was basically a junk email account so I didn't get spam on my main email, so not much lost. But I'm gonna use Gmail from now on. Way more reliable.
This is the worst mail service I have ever tried, poor costumer service and a stupid system. Today I moved some of my emails from the spam to "Not spam" meaning I moved them to my inbox, after logging in later that day all my inbox was empty, even the spam. And these emails are no where to be found!
Plus, I forgot the password to one of my accounts on this site. I wrote to them multiple times over the course of 4 months but I didn't get any response what so ever except for the auto response email.
This service had costed me so much damage, now I have to link all my accounts into another email (from another service of course).
Started off well but soon after, mails was not being sent through phone or outlook. Wanted me to pay for the premium service. Ads coming through everyday too.
The same issue as other people got here. As soon as you register, the account is blocked. Good luck with such an attitude towards new customers.
"Dear mail.com Member,
We have forwarded your request to unblock your account to our security department and it was determined that the account in question will remain blocked.
Please note that this is a decision made by our abuse department and we do not have further information we can provide to you.
With kind regards,
Your mail.com Support Team"
I had an account for about a year to contact friends seperate from business. One day they blocked my account and when I inquired why I got the same response as a few others that have posted reviews here saying I was using the account improperly. I had penpal friends from around the world and now I do not have their email addresses to chat with them.
Look, I hardly ever comment or make a reviews of websites, but this time I had to do.
I had an awful experience with mail.com, if you go there and create your account, I'm sure you will get very, very disappointed too, why!? Simple! I went to sign up option, I fill all the boxes, and when I submit to create an account, says ''technical error'' it doesn't let me sign up, I tried signing up with a VPN, and I was intercepted, blocked! Ok! I just sent a message to their support saying that I used a VPN to register due to error thing, and that was I received as an answer ''We have forwarded your request to unblock your account to our security department and it was determined that the account in question will remain blocked.
Please note that this is a decision made by our abuse department and we do not have further information we can provide to you.''
I sent another one ticket begging for help and that again ''As mentioned in the previous correspondence, your account was blocked by our Security Department. Please note that the Security Department will not share the exact reason for the block and there is nothing else we can do.
Thank you for understanding.'' They say that there is NOTHING they can do to help. I waste my time, and I felt very bad for no help and no explanation, so do I need to say any further? Stay away!
I strongly advise to move your e mails out of this no god provider I lost tons of money because PSN got hackt can't reset e mail does not exist and customer support do not communicate I send about 200 mesagi ant nothing this is the worst email provider in the world
Blocked 4 days after making the account for no reason. And it's not even the first time. I have lost multiple accounts like this.
I paid for add free, that said I didn't, even when I emailed them the receipt,! They still said I didn't pay, (crazy) I keep getting adds, os I've cancelled my subscription, customer support at IDIOTS, unbelievable.
Mail.com is HORRIBLE. Long term customer, but for past year mail.com keeps blocking my email.
They blame everyone else. After a month of complaining, one rep said "This is happening to many
Accounts. The new spam program doesn't work." Mail.com said they fixed my account, but still, to date,
Sending an email is 50/50 chance of delivery. DO NOT USE MAIL.COM HORRIBLE.
I paid via bank card for premium services for a year and after around 2 months mail.com started lying to me and being racist and discriminatory as well as it intruded into my privacy, continued to show me adds despite me having paid for no adds premium and their customer services try to bull$#*! their way out of admitting the discrimination. I as a paying customer am furious at their false advertising and discrimination. They say they will pay back the money but they never do, they don't say sorry about the racist pricks working in their customer service and they try to blame be the paying customer for THEIR INCOMPETENCE.
I just went through the same thing! I've had that account for some 5-6 years and periodically they would block me or request that i change my password. Strangely enough, until about 2 months ago, i had always used the Free Account but then went ahead and set up the Premium. As of yesterday the damn account was BLOCKED and no one can tell me anything competently as to What is the Bloody problem. They won't let you speak to anyone in "management" and they cannot speak "clear" enough English to tell anything that makes sense. Some guy keeps mumbling on the phone. PATHETIC!
Answer: Sane happened to me after paying for premium service for more than a decade.
