I have been with Mail.com for years, and a paying customer for the past 3, but I have decided that I will no longer be paying for this service. I am unable to send to multiple external domains as the email is bounced back saying that Mail.com is on a RBL ((Real-time Blackhole List, used to block suspected spammers.) When I try to contact support about this, I receive no reply. Apparently Mail.com's underlying provider, GMX.com, regularly shows up on email blacklists due to their service being used for spammers, which means that they don't have decent safeguards in place to prevent this behavior (or they simply don't care.)

Additionally, I have asked for years for Mail.com to include a 2FA option, but when they do reply to this request it's to say that they'll take it under advisement. Most other serious email services have already incorporated 2FA to secure their service. Not mail.com.

I subscribe to Have I Been Pwned, which is a site that monitors data drops from hackers and alerts you if your email address and/or credentials show up in a list of hacked credentials. Mine showed up recently from a Mail.com drop, meaning that at some point in the past Mail.com had been hacked. When I tried to report this, I was told that it was a Phishing Email, which I know is not the case. Again, Mail.com doesn't care, even if you are a paying customer.

Mail.com is not a serious email service and I cannot recommend it to anyone who is not looking for a purely throw-away account.

Account blocked
July 7, 2020

My account was blocked as soon as i made it.
The only answer they provided was "We have forwarded your request to unblock your account to our security department and it was determined that the account in question will remain blocked.
Please note that this is a decision made by our abuse department and we do not have further information we can provide to you."

Simple but lacking
June 10, 2020

Simple to use system but honestly, lacks in many places, just not as good as gmail or outlook.

I like the many extensions you can sign up to for free, but otherwise, meh.

Tried to delete my free basic account only to get the message: you are currently a premium member please contact customer support.
I am not a premium member! I make a point of only using the free basic account! After contacting them I just get a rubber stamp dummy's instruction of how to delete which I cannot do because it says I am a premium member! I cannot therefore delete my account. Also if I click on the premium tag it just says something went wrong in german!
Also I get the same error when I try to view my personal details! God only knows what's going on here; NOT GOOD! AVOID!

Company won't respond
April 22, 2020

After over a decade paying for premium service they have blocked my account without any apparent reason.

There's no way to get in touch with them neither a phone number to call them or even an email address, only through a contact form which I have sent dozen of times without getting reply.

I use my email account for personal and business matters, and now I cannot send or receive emails. This is frustrating I really don't know what I'm going to do and I had also registered using my email address regarding a bunch of apps and sites.

I'll keep on looking for a way to get in touch with them and hoping I can recover my account, which I have invested praying for premium service every year.

I wish I had read other reviews of mail.com. They blocked my account after one day for irregular activity. This is bogus because I only sent a few emails to friends. I contacted mail.com and they are refusing to unblock the account. I send a reply asking if they would confirm its deletion. If I don't hear back, I must assume they are using my account as some kind of data for a spam operation. I strongly urge readers to never use mail.com.

mail.com will Burn You.
January 19, 2020

Are they all on Drugs at mail.com? Customer Service cannot read, cannot respond correctly, don't have a clue how to do a job. If you complain, mail.com will HACK you, change your setting, Block you, Delete your contacts,
Or even Delete your Account.

Multitude of problems with mail.com in the past months. Emails say "sent", but are not. Emails to your friends are called "Spam" and you get blocked, forced to waste much time and jump through many hoops - only to see it happen all over when you send the next email. Complaints? Never resolved in Months!
mail.com does not care. Maybe they are bankrupt. Or selling again. Horrible treatment of people.

mail.com will Burn You. Change to a reliable email provider ASAP. January 2020

Contacted the company after my email account could not login. They terminated the account, lost everything! With no email to the email retrieval account. Really nasty. Lost hundreds of contacts and emails.

... government representative and perhaps even your lawyer.
Don't waste a single dime of your $ on these grifters and scam artists!
1&1 "media" or mail.com and it's "officers" need to be heavily fined, if not permanently put out of business!
This "company" and their minions interject their own personal biases regarding the blocking and cutting off access to those accounts they don't agree with!

Having read the bad reviews here, I am of the view that whatever I write here will be a repetition of what has already been said by the other reviewers.

I have only one thing to say: These guys in mail.com are obnoxious.

If I had read these reviews before signing up with mail.com, I wouldn't have to put up with this nonsense.

Works for Me
July 19, 2019

I have had an mail.com account for several years, because google.com is banned in China but this works. Chose an 'email.com' moniker as it is easy for everyone to remember, although often get asked if I really meant 'gmail.com'. But have not had any problems so far, works like any other email as far as I can tell.
Oh, one gripe is that my emails often end up in the receivers spam / junk mailbox so other servers obviously don't recognise it sometimes. Don't know what I can do about that, but then I have never tried to.

P. S@ Devan N. Hasn't happened yet and I / they have sorted the junk email problem - seems they were marking my emails as spam because I use a VPN [being in China] and my IP address kept changing. They have since white-listed me and no problem since.
