Ordered a supposedly in stock chair at the beginning of December, with their site and order confirmation saying in stock items should ship in 10-14 days.
By the start of January I had received zero communication from the company as to possible delays or any status on the order. I had to email them asking where the order was, and their response was it will be delivered mid to late January, despite specifically trying to order an in stock item.
Filed a BBB complaint about the misleading advertising and poor communication. Their response to this was to outright cancel the order in retaliation.
Save your money, time, and energy. Ordering from this company is a gamble that you'll ever actually receive your items, and if you do, it'll probably be next quarter.
My order with Madison was easy, and far less expensive than I thought it would be after doing all my research. They set expectations about the delivery and were meeting them, keeping me informed about the progress of the shipment. But when the shipper broke my chairs and I told Madison, they had a solution for me within one business day. I was so impressed with their willingness to overcome external problems to make sure I had my needs met. Thanks, Madison!
By way of background, Madison Seating first screwed up an order I placed back in 2015. Their customer service rep (CSR) emailed me after that, to promise a discount or expedited shipping on 'any future order.' This month (January 2020), I placed an order with them for a new Herman Miller Aeron chair. I referenced that prior promise, and a CSR on the phone assured me they would honor this promise, and then the company followed up in writing with the promise of expedited shipping (not a discount). In reliance on this promise, I placed my order. But then they swiftly wrote to me, reneging on this promise, saying they won't expedite delivery... or do anything else as a make-good. The order is now cancelled. I cannot in good conscience recommend doing business with an organization that makes a written promise to a repeat customer twice, and then breaches that agreement and denies any further responsibility. My suggestion to you: find another online seller for your business furniture needs. I do not consider this company ethical, trustworthy or responsible. Nor are their "sale" prices astoundingly better than other sellers, at least not enough to justify the leap of faith necessary to count on them to follow through.
We purchased 3 Steelcase chairs from MadisonSeating.com. The chairs were ordered for home office use and we didn't want anything flimsy. There was damage to two chairs in transit and the company was quick to resolve the problem by getting replacement chairs ordered right away. While we regret the damage to the packages, we would recommend this company for competitive prices and good communication with its customers.
Same issue as many other reviewers on here. Ordered a Herman Miller chair three months ago and it still hasn't arrived. Deadlines they give for delivery keep getting missed as they keep changing their delivery time. They don't even answer their phone and tell you to email them. Wish we never ordered a chair from these scam artists.
I purchased a $550 Aeron Chair from Madison seating. This is the third Aeron chair I have purchase in the past 12 months. When I assembled it, the screw that holds the lumbar cable in place snapped off as I was screwing it into the frame. I was installing the screw by hand and the screw was at less than "snug" pressure when it broke. This broken screw negatively affects the functionality of the chair. With the broken screw one cannot adjust the arm rests without removing both the back of the chair and the seat of the chair. Madison seating refused to stand behind this chair. They told me that the only way to get a refund is to return the chair without a broken screw -- but that cannot happen. Madison Seating is an awful company that does not stand behind their products, and they gave me no practical way of exchanging the defective chair.
I purchased the black Steelcase Think chair (refurbished) and there was an issue with the gas cylinder. Customer Service quickly responded to my emails and have worked diligently to correct the problem. Thank you!

We ordered 9 chairs from Madison Seating. They arrived very quickly. When we opened them, we saw one had been damaged in transit. I reached out to Madison Seating, and they responded within 4 hours offering to send a replacement at no cost to us without having to send back the old chair. We would definitely order chairs from madisonseating.com again!
I ordered a Steelcase Leap v2 chair from MadisonSeating on eBay just after Christmas. It shipped the next day and arrived in under a week. Unfortunately it arrived broken, but I worked with Customer Service - who responded promptly and professionally - to have a replacement sent free of charge! I can't wait for it to arrive as I think it will be great for my back.
I ordered a new office chair that arrived with some damage due to shipping. I emailed customer service and they offered to replace the chair for me. I was very happy with this offered solution. (4 out of 5 stars only because I am currently waiting for the replacement chair).
Had an issue with the first chair they sent me, so I contacted the support and they replaced the chair free of charge.
Don't waste your time! I tried to purchase a Steelcase chair - only to find *AFTER* checking out that there was a 10-14 day time BEFORE shipping (not including holidays and weekends). I inquired about this and was told that's their policy and due to covid (isn't that a convenient excuse) there wasn't anything they could do about it. After some back and forth, where I then learned it would be 18-30 days before my item even left their warehouse (making the lead time 4-6 weeks for an in stock office chair), their customer service responded that I seemed unhappy and would I like to cancel my order, which I did.
Terrible service, and terrible experience overall. The whole experience feels like I was dealing with people in China or India selling knocks offs but who knows?
Update: After my email canceling my order and telling them what a terrible experience it was trying to give them my money, this is the response I received:

I ordered my chair and it arrived within the time frame mentioned on their site. It arrived with the back plastic part of the chair broken. I reached out to them near Christmas and they responded quickly despite the holiday. They were very professional and offered to send me another chair free of charge. My overall experience was really positive and they provided awesome customer service.

I immediately wrote Madison to ask for advice, and they immediately wrote back and offered to replace the chair. You can't find better, more responsive service than this!
I ordered a Leap Chair V2 by Steelcase that unfortunately arrived with some damage. I contacted Customer Service and they were courteous and helpful, offering me either a partial refund or a replacement. I greatly appreciated their efforts to quickly resolve this issue.

I have owned a Steelcase Leap V2 for about 6 months and have had the arm rest fail along with the chair base. I reach out to their customer service and got a quick response and am currently being assisted by them to facilitate a replacement chair. I appreciate their swift and thoughtful response.
I purchased the Leap Chair V2 by Steelcase on 11/17 and it arrived a little over a week later. Unfortunately, when I took it out of the box, there were a couple of pieces of plastic in the bag holding the chair part that indicated something broke in transit. Once I assembled the chair, I discovered the plastic piece that connects the back of the chair to the main frame was broken. I took some photos to share with the business and they responded right away. They're now going to send me a new chair without requiring me to send this one back. I appreciate the swift and helpful customer service.
Madison Seating's customer service has been consistent, timely, and reliable since I first ordered a chair (Steelcase Leap) from them. Despite slower delivery due to COVOD-19 times, their customer service team has been very responsive, generous, and attentive to my needs, which has made such a difference during these chaotic months. Very appreciative!
I recently ordered a Steelcase Leap off of their website. The chair came within the timeframe they said it would and I was happy to receive my purchase! It came in a great big box and very well-wrapped. After putting it together by simply installing the cylinder, I noticed that the chair has a wobble. I emailed them and sent along a video illustrating the problem and they decided to send me a new chair and keep the old one! Over email, the support staff are very friendly and want to do what's right for the customer. I would do business with them again!

Answer: Patricia. We understand there was an error in the color chair you received. We offered to pick up the chair at our expense and issue a full refund as we are now sold out of the blue Aeron chair. We did not intentionally ship you an incorrect color chair. Mistakes happen. This was an honest mistake done by a packer, probably due to the holiday rush. The color black and blue are hard to discern on a mesh chair. Please return the chair at this point as your reaction to the error has been a tad excessive.
Answer: Hi Lonnie. We do not simply cancel orders without there being a good reason. Your placed (2) separate orders with us and it appears you are confused by your purchases. The first order was processed successfully with the payment you provided and shipped in a timely manner. You were emailed a confirmation of this order along with an order number assigned for that transaction. On the second order you attempted to place you provided a new email address and an invalid credit card number. The order was flagged as a potentially fraudulent transaction and subsequently canceled. Again, an email confirmation with a DIFFERENT order number was emailed to you along with a notification indicating there was an issue with the payment provided. This buyer was a disaster from the start. Dawn would not stop making requests and demanded to be prioritized over other customers patiently waiting for the same item. It's so sad that in a time when the entire world is dealing with a pandemic this woman could not understand the hardships of a small business trying to stay open and shipping out as quickly as possible with limited staff due to Covid regulations. Y'all decide if this review should be relevant.
