Do not try to avail yourself of Macy's Customer Service. It is essentially non-existent. Whatever your issue may be you will have to repeat it to a number of so-called representatives a number of times after having been transferred a like number of times, each representative saying "I will take care of your problem, ok?" only to be transferred where you will be asked to repeat all information starting with "what's your problem?" And at the end of this minimum of an hour call? Nothing has been taken care of. Nothing. And you can't email Macy's. Nor can you live chat. So if you are deaf or hard of hearing or unable to understand broken English you're especially out of luck. Very very bad customer service. No customer service at all. My Macy's cards are being cut up and trashed.

Subsequently, once caught, they will not cancel the order ( placed six hours earlier); rather they will placed multiple road blocks on the path to a refund. 'You first have to receive said package, and only then might you be able to 'cancel this order'.

I received notice that Macy Am Ex has sold off the account to Citibank which allows them to raise interest rates to 28.99% Closed out this account which was hard, since I've had this credit card since I was a young adult. I will not ever shop there again.
I got an one-time 30% off code for my birthday. I used it to buy a watch on Macy's website using the code. The order went through and I was happy. Later same day the order got canceled when I check the status on their website. It's the beginning of a nightmare:
1. I wanted to use the code again for another purchase since the order got canceled. The website rejected it claiming it's been used, yet in fact it hadn't 'coz the order was canceled. Shouldn't the system mark the code as unused upon the order cancellation?
2. I made two calls to the customer service. In both calls, the person on the other end called me Ma'am! I'm a man with a normal man's voice. How did Macy's train their customer service team?
3. Both called failed to resolve the issue.
4. Now the system removed my canceled order record. There is no way to look it up - throughout the process I didn't get any email notice - neither the original order nor the cancellation.
I'm really shocked the customer service and online purchase system can be this poor for Macy's. So disappointed!
It seems like the GREAT Macy's has gone rogue and outsourcing all over the globe. Representatives in China ( and I know that because I asked them where they were working from) are not only nasty, but demeaning and not knowledgeable. They refuse to transfer to Supervisors, citing first as unavailable, then they were called to meetings. I asked for an American representative since they did not understand my responses and was told there are none. I had to spell out all my information continuously. Not even numbers in English were properly understood. They resolved nothing and made sure not to provide the " rating figure" after the chat and Call. I contacted them 5 times to have an issue resolved. I then tried again and luckily got a representative based in the Philippines, who resolved my problem immediately. Macys has no working corporate telephone contact, so complaints are not heard. This is how businesses go out of business. It's not worth our money or time during a period where people are struggling. Don't bother, use companies that value and respect consumers. I would love to know how much they are saving in paying non Americans minimum wages. Shameful! We are skipping their BS parade this year, hope Santa does too.
Placed an order which they proceeded to ship all 3 items separately. Two items showed up the other item very obviously never made it to shipping, a label was created then zip. Contacted twice was told they couldn't do anything until day 10 even though it was obvious what had happened. Contacted day 11, now told have to wait 5 more days then they would process a refund which will take whose knows how long to credit. Amazon would have refunded or shipped the item 3 times in this same time period. Totally unacceptable!
On 9/19/22, I ordered a pair of shoes on line, I paid for it and received the order number. Didn't receive any notification about the status of the order. Today 9/26/22 I called customer service and inquired about my order, was told that I had canceled it on the 22nd (not true). I asked the person to place the order again, but told the item is on back order. Aha now the truth comes out. Very disappointed with your system. I am not going to use it again

I love my macys card and the deals that they have but their customer service is terrible. I repeated 3 times what I wanted and the lady Alexis still didn't understand me. When I requested a supervisor she placed me on hold then disconnected the call. I called back and the guy I spoke to didn't understand what I wanted either. I had a credit on my account and requested a check. How hard is that?
When it took half an hour to complete a return (WITH receipt) at the store, there was not much time left to shop. I called in with my complaint and was greeted by "Juan". He asked what the problem was and pretended to listen, only to turn around and repeat the basic info from my account and then ask how can he help. If you hire people who don't give a damn about customer service, let alone speak English, you are in for a rude awakening. I told him he has helped me by giving me the final straw. I've been a loyal platinum customer since 2008. Goodbye Macy's.
I put an order in today. I ordered the wrong item, I needed a different version of the product. I called to cancel the order and put in an order for the one I needed but, nope! There is a 30 minute window to cancel. It is in the email but in tiny writing and I do things on my phone and didn't see it. Can't cancel so they said return it, here is a label. I have no printer. Oh, just deny the package at the door and we will reimburse you after three days... I don't know about anyone else but our delivery people do not ring the doorbell so that's not helpful.
Worst company to ever get a credit card be thru! They just continue to check my credit report whenever they feel like it ( which causes ding to credit) Recently lowered my credit amount even though my credit score is better now thank when I first applied & was approved at higher amount(which also dings your credit AGAIN)! I haven't even used this stupid card & have had a zero balance for the last 2 years! Customer service is absolutely pathetic & useless when trying to resolve issues which is why I stopped using card to begin with. Word of advice, if you are thinking of getting this card, just DON'T, IT WILL SAVE YOU A LOT OF HEADACHES & FRUSTRATION & WILL PROTECT YOUR CREDIT SCORE, DON'T DO IT, THEY SUCK!?
Your entire online process is ridiculous. Takes entirely too long for item to arrive and order to process. I see why your ratings for online continue plumet. I will just purchase in store or elsewhere! Change it!
Costumer service canceled my online items because in the past UPS did not deliver it to my address. I have a camera that shows no body brought anything. Now I can not purchase online again because Macys will not let me. Terrible, I feel so offended by this company and I have years of purchase history. All my payments are on time. Shame!
Hi purchase almost 700 online and a pate extra to get my purchase at least for one or two business days after four days I called them and the lady who picked up the phone and said her name is Gabriella said you will receive your order four or five business days and I said I'm a passenger I will leave the country tomorrow and then I will be back next month and she said OK but you can ask your friend to return them if you don't want them, said I need them and she said OK so go buy it if you need that that was very rude and the customer service from Macy's it's awful
Worst experiences the last two months orders were horrible. Customer service not qualified. Poor handling to all the errors and mistakes that kept happening that last two month. From system errors, flash sales not applied when checking out. Orders not sent, adjustments take many and many phone calls and emails to correct them even when you attach pictures with proofs. It take them few attempts to finally get your point and fix the issue. I used to be a loyal customer but for the last two months I believe no more I'm ordering from this site! Get better system and better customer service or you just close your site if you can't handle the orders right!
Placed an order for several hundred $. They weren't able to ship the order so they canceled it, but I didn't get my money back. The customer service department informed me that I would only get my money back in two weeks because that is the company's policy. Yeah, you read it right. If they are not able to process your order their policy is to hold your money for two weeks. That wasn't right and asked to put me in touch with their boss to resolve this issue. But they just ghosted me and completely ceased to respond to messages.
All in all, a very unpleasant experience with their customer service department, it feels like they just want to get rid of you asap (of course masking everything with the usual phrases about how much they value you as a customer).
I contacted my bank but they said they can't do anything until Macy's releases the payment.
So here's how you lose money for a couple of weeks in a couple of clicks. Never again.
I purchased a silver Gevril watch and received a gold one. I called Macy's and they told me they showed I received the silver one. I said no I didn't and asked them to send me the right one. They said ok and 8 days later I got the package and it was another gold watch which was wrong again. I called them again and they still insisted it was the silver one. I said NO! It's the wrong one again. It told them I'm not taking any chances so I'm sending them back. They sent me shipping label but I asked if I couldn't take them to a store which they said yes and I did. I waited 11 days and no refund. I received an email stating the got the watches but no refund. I called and asked where is my refund? They said they had been sent to the manufacture which I don't no why. I told them I received an email stating they had been received and I need my refund. They said no we need to have them shipped back to is. I just need my refund and are making me wait possible 15 days for a mistake they made twice. They never apologized and and I never got the watch I originally wanted. The customer service is ridicules! That's not how you treat a customer. I don't plan on shipping here again very disappoint and still no refund or watch.
Im been punished by someones wrong doing while processing a full payment and removing my automatic payments on the account. That lead to fees and lowering my credit. I would never use this card again.
