Horrible experience this morning August 25,2022: from 9 AM to 10 AM on the phone with customer service agent "May" #******* who was absolutely useless in helping me to figure out why i only received half of the outfit I ordered (was supposed to be a 2 piece item, but i only got the top part); asked for a replacement to be reshipped to me on expedited basis due to Macys mistake & that i have to be out of the country in 3 days. Was told they can't expedite the reshipment, but if i pay $15-20 to overnight the item- now THAT can be arranged… still kept my cool & explained that my circumstances are a bit different & that I have to be out of the country in 3 days & due to being a long time loyal customer of Macys who has shared quite a bit of my paycheck with this store, asked for a concession to be made & some extra understanding in FIXING THEIR MISTAKE … No. Nope. Nothing. So, i asked to be transferred to supervisor only to hear "that no supervisor is available" -how awesomely convenient for "May" is that?!?! Stayed on the line for another 10min only to get to talk to a supervisor. "Courtney" came online, listen to me for half a minute & then in a very condescending unapologetic tone, said "sorry, we can not help you, have a nice day" & HUNG UP ON ME. Bravo Macys! Just BRAVO! You win the award for most awful customer service ever! & lost a loyal customer. Bravo!
Macy's had opened two cards for me that we did not know about so on Sunday 08/21/2022@ 1:30pm we called the customer service we spoke to Ali that had no idea what he was doing. We had looked into our account and there was no balance at all, then out of the blue we suddenly where informed that my Credit limited was decreased to $200 because we did not pay our Bill. I have all my bills paid and now was panelized because you guys not only had a card on my maiden name that I don't have anymore since 2 years my driver's license has also my Married name Wethington on it so how was that opened? The guy "Ali" had us on the phone for over 30 minutes and had no idea what he was doing, he ask us over and over the same question, he spoke to my husband again Bill Wethington and gave all my personal information but my is Wethington, did not even ask for my permission, until he figured out that he made a mistake. I am from a foreign country too but if you work you need to understand what the customer ask not being stupid about that. He waisted 30 minutes for something that should have taking 5minutes and because of people that work for you and issuing a second card on my maiden name that we did not know off now we have to pay $176 and you lowered my credit limited. It makes me just realize why more and more people buy on line because you make customers experience horrible.
Ali need to be retrained I work with many people from different countries and you need to be able to listen to the customer and understand or work somewhere where talking is not necessary. I am very up sad about this all and that your company panelized me for something they did, Faye
Ps when ask for a manager or supervisor we where told they do not work in the weekend omg you need to rethinking your customer service
At this point, I cannot go into all of the details, however, there is not a big enough word to describe the experience I've had with my 1st online purchase with Macy's.
With lots of luck, you may avoid this devaluing, dehumanizing experience that never let up in the 3 days and nights trying to communicate with customer service? Only to lose all hope of ever getting anything resolved in the end.
I have personally never read so many bad reviews as this company has. Except T-Mobile.
If you have a special someone you would like to send a gift to, please do your homework. Macy's gives their customers "30 minutes" to cancel an order!
Then they will lie to you about what they can do and will do!
And they do NONE of it.
The entire process has been so incredibly disturbing, I'm at a loss for words which doesn't happen very often.
I hope this HELPS someone steer clear of this declining business if you CAN'T afford to take the CHANCE of something going WRONG.

I was at Burnsville center in Mn exchanging something and Angelina in customer service helped me. My transaction had problems in their system but she stayed calm and cheerful. Directed me where to go and what to do and couldn't of been nicer! I don't often run into gems like this while shopping let along exhannging and needling help. Please reward Angelina for her fabulous customer service and smile!
This is a review of Macy's flagship store in Manhattan. First, my salesperson stunk of body odor. It was difficult to even deal with her. That aside, the salesperson assured me that if I opened a Macy's charge, I would receive a $100 statement credit. In fact, I received $100 worth of Macy's credit if I buy something else within ten days of receipt of my billing statement. This is a sleazy and illegal sales tactic. I should file a complain with the NY Attorney General. Never again, Macy's. Now I understand why your stock is in the tank.
Extremely poor customer service. I purchased a gift card over 2 months ago. Paid cash for it and the card was never activated by them, so I am unable to use it. I have called, sent emails to no avail. No response and no resolution to this problem. Am seriously considering never shopping with them again!
Bought 3 items online mid-July. Two RL t-shirts at a regular price of $45.00. One pair of sweat pants advertised as blue. Light blue looked very purple. When t-shirts arrived, they both had tags saying $29.50, but I was charged $45.00 each. No return label. Took them to store yesterday. Was told there could be no refund as items were purchased more than 90 days ago. All this even though items were on my current July statement. I live a distance from store, and finally received a fractional refund after talking to 4 cashiers. Came home and called Macy's credit. Spoke to 3 people whose English was poor at best. Macy's online crooked me. The store was a nightmare of many workers who were in groups having personal conversations.
I purchased a cute backpack to go to work with on the app on my phone and chose to pick up the bag at my local Macy's. However, when the item was picked up from my order, I noticed the tag was $24.00 less than what I originally paid online, $106.80, so I called customer service and was instructed to send the order number *******483. NO; they were insulting at this point; I was so upset that I finally called the customer service representative a fourth time, and the agent agreed with me and gave me the adjustment. All the other attempts did not include the emails after three attempts. I went through all of the stress and hassle because of the principal. I know I will probably not be shopping at Macy's any longer.
Do not trust Macy's employees! On June 16th I purchased a bracelet for my wife because we were told that we would receive a 25% discount because we were applying for a new credit card. This review is about Macy's delivery service. After waiting more than 2 months for our furniture, it was finally ready, and I scheduled a delivery date on their website. The date came, but nothing was delivered. I contacted their customer service, and a lady politely said the website does not work in our region, and we need to schedule delivery by phone. Why do you have a website running if it is useless and doesn't do anything? I had made arrangements to stay home and receive the delivery, and was very excited. But it turned out to be a huge disappointment.
Let me start this off by saying Macys used to have top notch service. But Ill be honest I have a hard time remembering when that was. The last few times I have placed an order there has been an issue and customer service has been a nightmare. Recently I ordered some pillows online. When I received them I noticed one had been a previous returm so I called customer service. They gave me a hard time because the order was placed using my husbands credit card so they called him and got authorization to speak to me regarding the account that is in MY name. Well I noticed on their website that they issued me a refund so I went to our credit card statement online to verify and was shocked to see I was actually charged twice. So I call them and they tell me they cant speak to me about the account without my husbands approval I said you already got that from him the last time I called. Then explained to them thats hes out of town in a class for work and wont be available for 4 more days. They still wouldnt help me. I'm beyond done with Macys. Not only did they send me a used/returned pillow, then gave me an incredibly hard time when trying to return it but then charged me twice. I rather pay more somewhere else than deal this garbage. It should be illegal for a company to debit your account without approval.
Will never, ever, ever purchase furniture from Macy's again. Or anything else for that matter! The company is committing downright fraud in my opinion. Not honoring online offers, not sending items, or sending incorrect items with no way to return them. It's just deplorable. No way to resolve issues, and Customer Service simply LIES to you over chat or over the phone!
I have ordered several times from Macys. Most recently I have been severely disappointed with their false advertising and then the lack of customer service to correct the problem. First I ordered mattress pads online because of the promised quick delivery. Shortly thereafter they said it would arrive 10 days later. I called to see if I could just pick up in the store and I was told to just wait for them to arrive. Secondly, there was a bonus of 2 free pillows with the pads. I didn't get the pillows, I called customer service again and was told that they must of ran out of supply. This was despite the fact that they were still advertising them a few days after I ordered. Once nothing could be done. It will be quite awhile (if ever) before I order from Macys again. There's a lot of other choices online.
Do not purchase an extended warranty for furniture. Better yet google the brand of furniture they are selling and purchase the furniture elsewhere. They will sell you an extended warranty but when the time comes to use it they do not stand by it!
I was in the market for a new mattress & Macy's had an amazing 4th of July sales on them. I wound up ordering the mattress & box spring totally online, but researched mattresses for hours hoping to get all the info I needed to make an informed decision.
Upon ordering I immediately got notification of the July 13th delivery date. I did pay the extra $25 for removal of old stuff.
The day before & the day of delivery I received numerous calls & texts confirming everything.
The delivery guys got there right on time & we quick & very efficient! They even offered to dust under my bed for me before putting on the new box spring.
The mattress feels terrific - fingers crossed it stays that way but I wouldn't hesitate using Macy's in the future.
I gave this a one star due to the item I ordered was sun damaged. I ordered denim heels and received them in bad shape. Packaging should be better and/or taken into consideration of how items should be delivered. Very unsatisfied and will not order with Macy's again.
I have spent a month trying to get a return label or QR code! I live in a remote area of the Smoky Mountains with limited internet that won't download the code and I'm 4 hrs from closest Macy's. I have called. Tried to chat. Contacted corporate without any luck. The foreign customer service has no idea what I'm asking. It's not in the script! So no idea how I can return these. I'm not driving 8 hrs round trip. This is why I shop at Amazon. No issues. Won't order from Macy's again. Please hire American Employees! Seriously.
