I purchased a coach watch! I was charged three time for the same watch that I never received. I called customer service which the only way to get a hold of them is through chatting which the person was not helpful in any way. I got no help what so ever. Macy's is still trying to get me to pay for the watch that I never received at my front door.
I'm not happy with this policy "last act" which mean you can't return or exchange something even if doesn't fit you or like it. (When we buy online we don't know if it is going to be something right for you or if you are going to love how it looks on you). I used to go to the store to change the size or return if I bought something that at the end I didn't like or fit. Once at the store I always looks around and buy more things. Now I can't order online because if the item is last act I have to keep them like it or not. Sometimes we buy more online because of time, and if you go to the store, they don't have what we want and they tell us the item is in another store or that we have to order online. I know the shipping cost but the prices or items increase too. So that shouldn't be an issue and I think you should remove this policy, modify or make exceptions. Hope you have better ideas of marketing. A loyal customer buy always because we are happy! So please change that.
Macy's customer service is the worst. I have talked to 4 supervisors to try to help me with a return. The supervisors have lied to me, dismissed me, told me it was not their problem. 2 of them told me it was handled and I would get a confirmation e-mail within 24-48 hours which I never received. Their supervisors are not trained and don't care about the customers. They say whatever they have to so they can end the call. When I asked to speak to one supervisors manager, they told me I was not able to speak to anyone higher.
I ordered a pair of pants because it said pickup up near me the next day. Well that was a lie the next day it said they were shipped and I would have them a week later.
I have been a Macys credit card holder since 1998. The last month or so they have been canceling all my online orders. I was sent an email stating that I had numerous claims of non- receipt. Which isn't true I had one claim and I guess they don't want you returning merchandise that you order. If I go into the store and see something I like… if they don't have my size I order it on line, but I guess if it doesn't fit or it's made like garbage they expect you to keep it. Maybe you should have a larger selection in your stores.
I will be canceling my card.
Although the quality is usually ok the styles of Macy's cloths is terrible. You can tell people that are much much older decide what to put on rack at Macy's and it's all do not modern. It's cheap fabrics never anything cute. I only go to Macy's for towels when they are clearance
The Christmas gifts are same old same old. Don't know how Macy's is in business. It's never busy in the stores. Any way ya just no style for younger them 70 year old people

Let's start with the 'Good'. I experienced the most wonderful checkout from Sonia Torre; customer service at it's best.
A dress I ordered went half off less than 2 weeks after I bought it and both a rep AND supervisor would not do a price adjustment. Their policy is 10 calendar days regardless of when it was delivered. They were happy to have that policy to hold tight too, like the company would go under if they gave the adjustment to a long time customer! Now I have to buy it again and return the overpriced one to get my $80 back. I was a customer for over 30 years and never had such poor service or poor policy spewed out at me. Horrible! Obviously Macy is not concerned with anything other than their bottom line!
My husband and I walked into the Murray UT Macy's yesterday, and immediately thought, are they going out of business? The store seemed practically empty and the employees were few and far between. We were trying to return some perfume for store credit so I could get something else. We ended up finding a friendly lady only to find that she was not an employee but a perfume vendor. She was able to get the attention of an employee who seemed irritated to have to process the return. We then took our gift card and found some shoes we needed different sizes. Finding an employee to assist was again not easy. Finally after wondering for a few minutes an employee asked what we needed. We finally got the sizes we asked for but then the employee disappeared again. We ended up finding the employee in perfume that had done the exchange to check us out for the shoes. Basically I could go on about my experience, but really it just boils down to not a single employee seemed excited or happy in their job. Not a single person seemed interested in customer service. This tells me it's coming from the top, management, or worse corporate needs to make their employees a priority so they can provide a better customer experience. If they aren't going out of business they are will be soon enough. The quality of the product there will not make up for the lack of customer experience.
I don't know exactly what is wrong with Macy's but their credit card services are bizarre. The customer service reps make stuff up to be disagreeable. They are obviously dissatisfied with their lives and out to make people miserable. I can only believe that they are living in terrible conditions, chained to their desks and say outrageous things as a cry for help. It is just weird. I applied for a card, made a couple of purchases same day at the service desk so didn't have my card number, ever. I never received any correspondence or card. I sat on hold in one of my many attempts to figure out what was happening with the card, statement, any correspondence for over four hours. Finally, the last-ish conversation I asked the rep to cancel my card. It was like I told her she won the lottery-she was gleeful and instantly cancelled my card. I burst her bubble when I told her I wanted a letter in writing stating the card had indeed been cancelled. Nope, Macy's doesn't do that. They only email things like that. They only mail statements but only email letters saying your account is closed. I didn't get an email (season 5 begins). So I called back, and guess what. No they don't email letters like that but they did email a letter like that and it didn't go through (yeah, what?!). So, now they are mailing out a letter that says I closed my account. When I pointed out that they have all of my personal identifying information in the end given me nothing I suspected there is some sort of agile and dealings and I was really hurt and disappointed in the way I was treated they just asked if there was anything else? And I said nope, it was the strangest longest interaction I've ever had trying to receive the physical card that I was accepted to receive, trying to pay off the bill, not knowing my credit card number because I was never given one, and dealing with people who honestly are asking for drama for no good reason other than again I think they're being abused.
I bought some items on sale in November and already they are falling apart. The sales lady talked me into getting an additional discount by opening a card and it's been nothing but problems ever since. Even when you pay your balance in full they keep sending you bills for $2 for months and months on end even when you call customer service to remove it they never do - it's hell. What a horrible way to kill your brand Macy's.
I purchased 4 rugs on line and I returned ALL 4 in person to customer service Topanga mall store within days of receiving them. When I received the statement there was no return shown. It's been a month and 6 telephone calls, about 1 hour each, and the problem has not been solved. Not only, but I am charged late charge for non-payment. The late charge part " seems" ( God knows) to have been solved today. Macys still did not credit my account for 2 of the 4 rugs.
I had a similar experience this past summer when I purchased 1 pair of shoes on line. I tried them on at the customer service desk, never left the store with them, and there was no record of the return. It took several phone calls to solve the issue. Here is MY statement: Macy's lost my business and my family's. I wake up in the middle of the night with heart palpitations thinking of my unsolved issue! Those palpitations pop-up during the day as well, I believe it is called anxiety! GOOD JOB, MACY'S! I have never been late paying my bills, EVER!
Missing delivery first time in my life I ordered something they blaming me for several other Missing deliveries witch was so embarrassing every time i call u have to deal with different person from different countries and have to explain over again

I have contacted Macy's customer service, the president of Macy's and have not had a resolution. Gift the first one sent on 12/16 when it was not received by the 23rd I called and their customer said they would cancel and refund it and he reordered another on 12/23 which was never received. I still have $200 on my credit card that I have disputed. It is one excuse after another, they have the numbers and can see they were not delivered to the address given, if they sent to the wrong address that is their isuse not mine. Completely done with Macy's!
Worst website ever! Ever time I try to add a new address or 'go to checkout' the site fails…server not available…blah blah blah! No other website does this where I'm at right now! Ever!

Went online to order a gift. An old order appears along with new online order. I delete old order items. Previous shipping address used for old order comes up along with credit card used and it quickly changes to "Thank you for your purchase" before I can change it! Try looking online for number to call to change shipping address. This was like finding a needle in a haystack. Finally get ahold of someone and I just cancel order. Of course I'm told I have only so much time to cancel. I tell outsourced customer service rep. That I wasted a ridiculous amount of time trying find number to call and she will cancel the order or I will call my credit card company. She cancels it and I proceed to order online from Nordstroms.
