The company faces significant challenges in customer satisfaction and service reliability, as numerous reviews highlight issues such as unexpected charges, poor communication, and inadequate customer support. Many customers express frustration over billing discrepancies and difficulties in reaching live assistance, leading to perceptions of the company as untrustworthy. While some drivers receive praise for their service, the overall sentiment indicates a growing dissatisfaction with the app's functionality and the company's handling of complaints. To improve its reputation, the company must enhance its customer service responsiveness and address billing transparency.

I am being charged for a ride from a week ago over and over again, over drafting my checking account. I tried their email, its nonworking. I tried the phone number its a circle of nonsense. I tried contacting the driver under lost item, no response. F LYFT! Never again.
I'm tired of these drivers taking my ride. Driving 15 min to get to me. Then 5 min away they cancel. That's so rude. And they should be docked or something for it. It happened to me 2 times the other night. Come on people...
I take the same ride almost everyday! Usually $7 - $12. Ride! March 27,2022 3:30 pm
I get my ride home. Morning ride $7.08 miles they charged me $74.75 first said I requested a stop! Bs! I never done that. The stop they had me down for is a vacant lot! 2.01 miles out of my way home. I got a straight ride to my home. 2.09 miles let's say
Still $74.75! Unrealistic
Then they put in log, both rides I took! Charged me already for ride there $7.
They won't refund my money!
Bad business!
My account was hacked for a $72 ride I never requested. They found me to be responsible and would not issue refund. They also stopped talking to me when I tried to explain how this was a hack and ended my chat. When you call, you are redirected back to the website. I've deleted Lyft for good.
Location: Burlington, Vermont (Driver: Nusret, White Jeep Cherokee)
I was in downtown Burlington after going out for drinks with friends and called a Lyft to take me back to my hotel. My mom was with me and the driver was saying extremely inappropriate things to us in the car that made us really uncomfortable. Then when we got to the intersection of our hotel his GPS said to turn right into the parking lot of our hotel, but he turned left and started driving us back to this dark, secluded area that was surrounded by woods. We kept telling him to turn around but he was trying to convince us that our hotel was back there even though we knew we already passed it and that he intentionally turned the wrong way. He wouldn't stop the car or turn around, so I called the police while we were trapped in the car with him and they sent police out right away. Once the driver realized I was on the phone with the police he panicked and turned us back around and took us back to our hotel. It was the scariest experience of my life. The next day I drove back to where he was trying to take us and there was an abandoned parking lot surrounded by woods and it totally freaked me out even more. I filed a police report and they have all of his information and are opening an investigation on him. I also reported it to Lyft and he shouldn't be able to drive for them anymore. This is just a warning to always be aware of what is going on and to never get in a Lyft by yourself! This whole experience totally traumatized me and my mom.
Lyft is horrible if I could leave zero stars I would. They let anyone drive and their drivers are rude and extremely unprofessional then when you contact customer service through the app they are completely unhelpful and wont when issue a credit towards the next ride after their drivers mess up. Had a driver leave me stranded in front of my face and make me late for work and they would not even issue a 5 dollar credit
Don't fall into their trap. I never tried Lyft before. I received a promo code to get 50 percent off of first 5 ride. I thought I give them a try since I was going out of town and needed a ride to the airport. Wasn't a bad ride other than price was 25% higher and they did not apply my 50 percent off. A week later when I came back I asked for a ride from airport to my house. A NIGHTMARE. After over an hour waiting with 2 luggage outside the airport and feeling unsafe t
the map showed 12 minutes till my car arrives and then 7 minutes and then stopped for 15 minutes. I kept sending text messages and made calls to the driver and no answer. Finally I was exhausted and asked for another ride which indicated 15 minutes but showed up after 30 minutes on another spot a few hundred yards away. I dragged my luggage and sure this was my ride. The driver had windows up and no mask contrary to the Lyft policy. I tried to stay quiet but the driver wanted to talk and kept asking questions. Again the ride was 20 percent higher than the quote and no 50 percent discount. Next day, with lots of efforts could not find any contact telephone number for Lyft. The only number listed has a voice messaging system that refers you to communicate via chat. Sure made my complaint but I found out they charged me twice for one difficult ride I took from the airport. The driver that never showed up insisted that he picked me up and took me to my destination. Therefore they charged my credit card for that and my actual ride after 1.5 hours waiting. How can I take two rides at the same time? What about my 50% off? Sorry, you are right but we believe our driver therefore we give you partial credit and we don't give you 50% off since we do not locate that promo. Then I sent them screen shot for the promo and they replied that is too late to apply now so they give me a $10 coupon for future use. Thanks. I don't need your handout and don't want to be a victim of your criminal behavior. Enough for me. Next time I take a taxi or a bus or even walk if I can but won't use Lyft. For those who say nothing like this happend to them. Good luck it is just the matter of time.
Sometimes okay but recently I have had terrible experiences with drivers. It seems Lyft will hire just about anyone especially unsafe drivers with lack of empathy or customer service. Why do you hire unsafe drivers when clients only want to get to where they need to safely you are putting our lives at risk. My last driver was speeding over 84 on the highway and not using turn signals to cha he lanes. In addition to this ride, Robert, my driver proceeded to hit me with his car as he was backing up when he dropped me off at my destination. Complete lack of focus or attention to surroundings and road. Please get safe drivers who are unsafe and display erratic driving behavior. Worst company ever, only looks out for their drivers and not their riders.
In the last 2 days I have had Lyft drivers say they showed to pick me up when they did not. I subsequently requested another Lyft driver who had no problem picking me up. Then Lyft charged me $5.00 for the guy who claimed I wasn't there. Lyft is a big scam. I feel sorry for the few honest drivers they have.
I have been trying to get a Lyft for 3 hrs. At first a driver was 11 minutes away then 2 minutes later I get notifications that they're looking for me another driver. Unlike Uber, Lyft does not release the "temporary" hold of funds right away if they can't get you a ride. It takes 5-7 days. There's no customer service number to call, messaging them is useless, and their policy sucks. I am currently sitting here at my job after being off the clock for 3 hrs. I am deleting the app because I'm never using it again. Bad business! Oh and make sure you have extra funds because if it's the last of your money that was used to get a Lyft you will be left walking if you don't have family or friends to pick you up.
Don't use Lyft. They take advantage in any way they can. They charged me $70 over the projected cost. Customer service was zero help. They repeat the same lingo from their training I'm guessing.
Unfair, frustrating, shady is all I can say.
I have used lyft multiple times without issue for rides to work when necessary. Yesterday I scheduled ahead as usual and ended up in the hospital. Wouldn't even mind a cancelation charge but they are saying the driver completed the ride. How is that possible when I have paperwork proving I was in the hospital. It's un real the lengths they go to lie. How can I be in 2 places at once
Horrible Horrible customer service. All they say is the driver completed the ride. It wasn't with me I have proof
While in DC I decided to install and use the Lyft app because it was tied to my skymiles account. I ordered a ride from Reagan Int'l to my hotel. The upfront estimate was a little over $63. Because of my prior experience with UBER was that this would be cheaper than other ground transportation choices. When I got to my hotel, a colleague told me that the had paid less than $25 for a regular taxi to the hotel. I emailed LYFT and inquired why the big difference. They offered a lame excuse and no reduction since I was given the price up front. I could understand a slight difference, but definitely not over twice the cost. I am deleting my account immediately as they are ripping off people. One star is 100 times what they deserve. Pathetic and not customer friendly.
The customer service rep is very short and disgustingly rude! Called about a charge of $150 on my acct and I was in 18 hours away in another state when the charges were made and the nasty rep kept dismissing me basically saying it's not their problem and to put a password on my phone. Disgusting
Lyft is a joke. Horrible service - avoid at all cost. I waited several hours, two weekends apart and no drivers available!
Charged $55 more than agreed. When I ordered my Lyft, the advertised price was $45. Imagine my surprise when I get an email saying I was charged $102. Even better? When I went to try to dispute the charge, Lyft's website just says "No, no problem here." and provides no way to actually dispute the charge. If this is not illegal, this should be. This is complete theft. The only reason I took Lyft instead of Uber was Uber was $65. This is completely ridiculous and unfair to riders.
The ride itself is usually OK with the driver being competent and getting you to the right place. However, I've had frequent problems with my request being arbitrarily cancelled without warning because no one would take my request - or worse have a driver accept it and then cancel at the last minute. Given that I've thus far been using it to get to work while i work on my license, this is pretty unacceptable - especially since it means I can't trust the estimated time of arrival either.
Why Lyft keep taking money out my bank account without my knowledge. I never use this crooks again. You can't just take people money
If you've used a ride service you know how it works. I arranged a ride and after I was leaving a tip the price went from $33.99 to $51.89. I disputed only to receive a pre generated reply of everything looks normal. Well sorry guys that is not normal. Don't use Lyft as they hope you will just let it go.
Lyft has been charging my account for rides I have taken I want my money back. Won't give an explanation
Answer: They randomly out of the blue deactivated my account. This was there explanation. We found your account to be violating our Terms of Service and you will no longer be able to use the Lyft platform. I can honestly I have not violated anything so clearly there is something wrong with there information but the worst thing is they dont even tell you what the problem is. Oh well guess take my business to uber instead.
Answer: Lft runs different promotions and depending on promotion they promise a signup bonus(500-1100$). Now if they really pay the bonus it's totally up to their discretion.in my case they didn't pay. I completed the 60 Rides required in the first 30 days, which was the requirment to qualify for the bonus but they still didn't pay. After a brief email exchange with a lyft employee(they do not give their position or full name) they stopped answering. Now I am filing a complain with BBB and I will let you know where it goes when I have updates.
Answer: Lyft's customer service is terrible. If they won't correct it, file a dispute with your credit card company.
