LL Bean Does Not Stand Behind its Product Quality or Guaranty.
I bought a coat from LL Bean in January. It was "Comfy, Cozy Fleece Coat."

Initally, I loved it. It was warm and flattering, but in only about 2 months, the pocket zipper broke. I carry very little in my pocket, but want the zipper to work so nothing can fall out and get lost. I called the company hoping to get a replacement, but all they had was grey or purple, not any more in black. I did not like the coat in those colours, and I still want the coat, so they said they would pay to get it repaired, but I can't find any place that can do the repair. I would have been happy with a small percentage refund to compensate for the damage, but this is not offered. So now its either send back the coat and go without or live with a broken zipper. Very poor material if a zipper doesn't last more than a few months, and equally as poor customer service to leave a very unhappy customer. Not what LL Bean advertises itself to be!
Most of the time I am very satisfied with the products (customer service is first rate) My pet peeve is why do they change sizing? A PS should have the same measurement. Every time. And the design of the most recent winter jackets: THE HOOD IS HUGE especially for the PETITE SIZE. I still have an OLD jacket and a down coat with the HOOD fits perfectly with a snap. I CANNOT give it up because of the beautiful construction, sizing and quality... NOT the newest. Again, HUGE HOOD NOTE: we PETITE SIZE DID NOT GROW OUR HEADS LARGER. (maybe other parts)
So I limit myself to buying the models that have used in the past because the same sizing. And material quality of the "oldies" are much better than some of the new items.
LLBEAN:: please keep your quality products. I would gladly pay a higher price and keep the item wearing longer and better. I fear that the trend among retailers to cheapen the material quality due to higher labor costs may also impact LLBEAN. I only hope LLBEAN will retain its overall quality products. So that is the reason for giving it four stars.
Great products, great customer service, easy returns. A yearly "go to" for Christmas gifts and gift cards.

My husband and I both have very high quality coats, clothes, and camping gear from L. L. Bean. They have free shipping ALL THE TIME, and have great customer service. They are more expensive than some, but the quality makes it worthwhile.
This is a wonderful site and easy to maneuver. The prices reasonable but the quality is excellent. If it's not right when you get it the exchange is fast and courteous
Shopped here once at the outlet store, took advantage of credit card and big first purchase discount and never been back.

They liked the Flannel robes and Suede mocisin I once bought them for Xmas when I got older,

Have ordered four items from LL Bean in last six weeks or so. One tshirt was actually so cheap that had I seen it, I would never have ordered it. I then ordered the $70 pants which I usually get for my husband and the inseam was off by over an inch (actually I think closer to two inches, at any rate, they touched the floor in the back), ordered two knit cardigans in the same size and one of them would not come close to coverage/closure in the front. Go figure. It costs alot to send these things back. For the pants, I would have hoped since they clearly made a mistake, they would cover the postage. Nope. For the crappy tshirt, I would have hoped they would not accept that lack of quality and for the non-uniform sizing, well, that is just the last straw. I would add that the cheap tshirt had washing instructions in Chinese and Spanish but not in English. Sad. This used to be my favorite retailer and an always reliable go to favorite.
I buy all my t-shirts here, they last a long time. And I buy my boots here, they're great. They have good stuff.

Usually online shopping seem very hard because people do not know, what type of quality they'll get. But shopping at LLbean is very easy because they do not compromise on quality and I can trust on them. Because they never broke my trust till now.

These folks have NO IDEA what you are talking about, or anything about the items in the store or any idea about how things fit or are made or ANYTHING!

Most of the goods are no longer LLBean's manufacture but simply purchased from a bulk manufacturer in China, so the quality has dropped off drastically over the past several years and is nothing compared to the quality LLBean built it's reputation on.

Answer: Fairly easy to get a CS rep via chat or phone but they aren't as conscientious as they once were and seem to use a lot of canned responses.
Answer: If you don't get results from one customer service representative, ask to speak to a supervisor. I emailed my question in and had a quick response and exceptional service. Had I not, I certainty would have gone up the chain of command.
