Apparently I signed up for a monthly membership but did not realize it - but when I saw the charges on my credit card and called to inquire, the customer service rep was super responsive and professional and friendly to explain everything as well as promptly issue a refund to my credit card for all unused time. So appreciate that.

LiveCareer's resume-builder is great, and the work saved makes it worth the $1.95. I feel they communicate the recurring charge well enough that you have only yourself to blame if you're surprised by it.
Where they slip up, however, is making cancellation easy. How on EARTH do you cancel it? For months, I'd been sending emails to the only customer service email I could find on the site... to no avail, while they're charging my card almost $30 per month.
BUT I was pleasantly surprised today to receive quick, easy, pleasant, and totally satisfactory customer service from representative David Bermudez today on the LiveChat. Without a hitch, I was able to both cancel my account and get a full refund all the way back to when I'd originally sent my first cancellation email. It was so quick that I was astonished - high-quality customer service like that is rare.
I also love how they don't just throw away your resumes & cover letters when you cancel the subscription. How not-spiteful and non-manipulative of them (which can also be rare).

This company lures you in with a free resume builder
Then after you spend an hour building your perfect resume, you find out you can not print, save, or access in any way without first paying them around $1.50.
Then for the poor fools who don't read the fine print after a 14 day period they will start charging you a monthly $20.00 without notifying you.
Horrible, shady, despicable company.

I signed up for the two week free trial period. I used it to my advantage, creating resumes and cover letters and downloading all of them to my computer. It's a great service. They give you "power" phrases and words to go with the appropriate experience on your resume. I also love the layouts and the ways you can modify them.
I was also sent email notifications updating me on job searches that I didn't even know was available through LiveCareer. I only signed up for the site to use the resume builder, not for job searches, but it's an extra tool that someone could find useful. In the end, I found a job, so I guess LiveCareer served its purpose. Cancellation was easy, it just took a phone call, and my experience overall was A-Okay!

On the web site, I didn't like the fact that after paying for the service I used that I was suddenly a member and will be charge $24.95 each month. Also, I didn't like the fact that no phone number appear on the site that I used.
But, the experience I had with Michel's Service was excellent. He was very helpful and did everything possible to resolve my problem.

My experience with Luis was quick and professional.
My experience with LiveCareer service was not as professional. I was still billed even when I had cancelled my subscription before the 14-day trial. This is the worst thing that can happen when signing up for online services that boldly claims "Free Trial". Even when the service is the best it can be, if the services promises a FREE trial and not live up to that, it makes the whole business "Service" CHEAP, UNPROFESSIONAL and CROOKED. Who would care anymore, if the service was great? I would never recommend to anyone else and in fact pass on how crooked the service is.
I am hoping that your service will reverse the charge that was made because I did in fact like how easy it was to use and I would like to continue using your service sometime in the future, but not if LiveCareer will be crooked in its billing practices. Trust is a hard virtual to gain back.
What would really impress me is if this Survey even actually gets read by anyone and takes notices of my complaint. In the meantime, I hold my disappointment a little longer before sharing my experience.

Overall, the program works pretty well. It would be nice if it were a little easier to put in your own experience entries. Sometimes the bullets tend to foul up when you don't use the pre written ones.

Easy to use, did exactly what I needed it to, helped me create a professional, stand out resume. Also outstanding customer service. For someone looking to sharpen the organization and look of their resume, just try it, you'll probably love it.
My only con is the website itself ran a bit choppy at times, but never for longer than a few moments.

However you can download a plain text version of your resume for free. To be able to use all premium futures of the service we offer customer a 14 days access for $1.95 and we indicate up front that it will auto renew after the 14 days and that it can be cancel at any time. The auto renewal is listed with the features of the 14 day subscription on the sales page, as well as on the payment and confirmation pages. We also send a payment confirmation email stating the date and amount of the auto- renewal. We do offer several ways to cancel including by phone, live chat, email and self-cancellation in your Account Settings. We are very committed to providing great customer service. Answer: This is what the site advertised: For 14 day access, $14.95, and for a year $39.80. However, signing up for ANY service aloows the site to store your payment information for further billing, and getting in touch with them, much less obtaining help is nigh impossible. After two weeks they will pull $39.80 MONTHLY from your payment method (please see my review and others on Google and yelp for further verification of this).

Answer: I had to cancel my Debit Card account with Bank of America, because the Bank refused to block LiveCareer from my account. I wonder if they are in cahoots or what? I believe a class action suit may be required so we can get our funds back.
Answer: Call your bank and change your card number Call them and let them know you have contacted your bank and will contact the better business bureau of you don't get a full refund. Then contact the better bBB and file a formal complaint. You will have a refund within a week. That's how I got my money back
Answer: Dont waste your time trying to contact them. I went to my bank and had all future billing refused AND I went to the State Attorney General and reported them.
