My wife and I purchaced a washer and drier set from home depot. In less than a year the seal for the door on the washer became torn. Home depot set up an appointment with a tech that services LG. The tech came out, found the issue and ordered the parts. When the parts came in he came to install them and when he opened the package he noticed they were not the correct parts. While he was in my home he called LG and they informed him that the parts were not available and if he ordered the correct part number, they would have no choice but to send the same part that they previously sent, which was not correct. Several months passed and LG was unable to provide the part necessary to repair our washer. LG contacted us and informed us that they would be providing a refund and it has been two months and we have not received anything from the company. It is almost impossible to contact someone of authority who can help. I will never recommend this company to anyone.
Bought an LG washer approx. 11 months ago, 3+ weeks ago it began making a loud chattering noise, which after viewing some videos, appeared to be the drain pump. The technician replaced the drain pump and found large sharp pieces of plastic(pic attached), and decided it must be the agitator, which is new to this model. I'm thinking design defect involved? He ordered another agitator and drain pump and told us we could use the washer, but the sharp plastic started coming up into the tub(luckily on towels and not clothes they cut up). He came out two more times and didn't have the proper tools to replace the agitator and basically him and his supervisor left our case in limbo. I decided I would borrow the proper tool(a 20" ratchet extender) and removed the old agitator myself. I contacted their support yet again, and got escalated to executive customer service and then 'presidential liaison', no difference and now they say it will be later in the week(almost 3 weeks after initial call) before the technician can come out again, probably still without the proper tool. I dont see how these companies stay in business with the inability to honor their warranties and poor customer support. DONT BUY LG WASHERS.
Update: They said they wouldn't do anything until the technician attempted the repair on 2/24. Guess what happened that morning – the technician cancelled because he still didn't have the correct tools and so his supervisor decided to issue a return authorization, which I'm not sure exists because neither will return my calls and the LG Presidential Liason office texted me on Saturday asking if the technician had fixed my washer on Friday(even though the appt was on Thursday). Unbelievable incompetence. DON'T BUY LG!
LG is associated with a vendor called JustAnswer. If you have a great deal of time to spend chatting and an easy question AND plenty of money to pay for easy answers, sure. Go ahead. Otherwise search for answers on the web. That's probably what they do. The products are good though. They should do something to upgrade their customer help.
Bought an LG refrigerator December, 2018. In July, 2021, it stopped working with no rhyme or reason. Water was all over the floor, and all food in the fridge/freezer had to be thrown away. I read how to reset it and I did. The thing started working. I chalked it up to just a "fluke". This morning, (February, 2022), we got up with our kitchen floor flooded and warped and with all food thawed and room temperature. It all had to be thrown out. I began reading more about LG refrigerators and found out LG brand has a compressor flaw. A class action lawsuit is in process. No money returned, only extended warranty is offered. Absolutely, no thank you. The only satisfaction LG could give me is delivering a new refrigerator/freezer, any brand other than LG. Don't waste your money!
Great TVs, reliable phones. I used to have one, I mean a cell phone and was rather satisfied with its quality.
It's been 7 days since my dryer went out. I paid $1200 for it 18 months ago. The main board is bad. I paid a tech $89 to come out. After arguing with them for 10 min LG told me they would replace the part. When I called back with the part number they told me they would not send me the part. Then I argued again and they said they would send the part but couldn't send it to me because they didn't want me to put it in. What? They needed my technician to call. When he did they tried to charge him for it. I called back - they then said they needed to send the technician an authorization to sign before they would send it to them because they didn't want the tech to use an off brand part instead of theirs.? She Told me it would take 3-5 days TO SEND AN EMAIL! Then called and told me they sent it. My technician has not received an email. I've spent $160 at the laundromat and 9 hours. I'm a newer widow that really does not have time to put this much effort into babysitting their employees. This is my 2nd set of LG washer/dryer. NEVER AGAIN!
Absolute worst company I have ever had to deal with. Laundry machine broke after five uses, LG sent a technician twice and the machine is still broken (4 weeks later). They refuse to escalate the claim past customer service. Been told many times they would contact me with more information, they never call. I have spent hours and hours on the phone with them, always the same canned responses like it is my first time calling and refusing to escalate the issue. DO NO BUY FROM THEM, you will regret it.
Lg products are not reliable and the customer service is non existence. We bought an entire kitchen appliance set. The gas range came with a gas leak. Manufacturer defect for sure. Impossible to get a hold of a live rep. And when you do their response is "someone will call you back." No one ever does. They attempted to send a technician with parts. But that didnt fix the issue. They promised a refund then closed our account. Took us weeks to get a hold of someone to have it reopened. Still no return call back and no refund check. We have been without a stove for almost 6 months now. Hard thing to live without. $1400 down the drain. We are furious. Companies should always return the money to a customer if they sell them a defected unusable product. I highly recommend NOT to buy LG products. I never will again and I will be spreading the word.
My name is Annie Langston and I bought one of their refrigerators in 2016. It was one of the models involved in the lawsuit against them a couple of years ago and the warranty on these was extended from one year to five years. When I called them, they finally agreed to send someone to look at it. It was the same problem the rest of them of them had. After a month, with repair people coming once a week, with the incorrect parts, my refrigerator still wasn't working. They offered at the second week of all this a check to replace the food that was ruined but I've never received anything from LG. I finally replaced it because it had been a month and they were doing nothing to help me and eating out was getting really expensive at this point. So no I don't recommend buying any of their products. Honestly if I could give them 0 stars, I would.
I have a refrigerator that's model is included in this class action lawsuit. The compressor recently broke and I have been in contact with LG for the last 5 days. They have advised that I would have to pay for the repair but that the compressor was under warranty for 10 years. They provided me with the name of an LG contracted servicer. I was going to have to pay for the installation which was quoted around $750 and $800. However, LG would pay for the compressor.
After 5 days of calling LG to follow up on the Letter of Authorization that the service provider needed, I have gotten no where. Everyday I call and everyday I am told the same thing. But there is no follow through.
At this point I have on day 6 with no fridge, I had to throw all my food away, and I am having to eat out. I continue to get the run around.
Their quality has taken a landslide downhill over past 20yrs Would not recommend any of their products Customer Service is given from people with no knowledge of the product DO NOT BUY LG
In 2016 I bought 3 piece kitchen set from LG. The refrigerator motor had to be replaced under a class action lawsuit, the ice maker has been replaced 3 times at my expense. The motor on the oven had to be replaced in 2020, paid for by LG and now 2 years later the motor on the oven needs to be replaced and LG is refusing to pay for it. All of these repairs in basically 5 years, I'm on a first name basis with the repairman. Never buy LG Customer service was ok, but just kept saying no.
Used Customer Reports to find a reasonably priced but quality washer and dryer. The set we chose was an LG washer and dryer. The washer came in and is working just fine, I've only had it for a few days but I like it. I would probably like my dryer to, only it arrived damaged, so the driver had me refuse the delivery due to damage. We took photos, I signed some papers and the delivery guy told me to go ahead and reach out to LG to start the refund process. All of this is normal and not upsetting, I understand that items do and will from time-to-time get damaged in transit. What doesn't make sense is LG's convoluted returns process. Instead of seeing that the delivery was refused because it was damaged and just sending me a new one. The onus is on the customer to reach out to LG and tell them it's being returned. Then you need to double check the price, in case it's gone up, which mine did because it was originally a Black Friday purchase, and request a promo code before re-ordering to get it at the price you originally paid. Then they can't even tell me what time frame my refund will be processed, and I don't care to re-order until the refund has gone through, and I'm in the middle of asking if they will expedite the shipping of my dryer when I do go to order it. But I'm willing to bet the answer is no because they clearly don't care about their customers or they would have processes that reflect it. Poor, poor customer service, the 1.72 star rating is not a surprise. And I don't usually write reviews, but I thought I should this time.
I purchased a refrigerator 3 years ago. The price of the refrigerator was over $4000. I purchased a package… refrigerator, stove, dishwasher and microwave. 3 years, the fridge was not repairable. I went an entire month, with no fridge and multiple attempted repairs. Because I got the fridge in a package deal, I received the price I paid minus depreciation. I feel that LG should have replaced the fridge with the same one I purchased, not send me a check and I had to put another $1000 out of pocket for another fridge. I'm not happy at all.
I bought an LG tv for $4k and in just over a year the screen shattered. LG didn't take any responsibility for it, would provide replacement or compensation and customer service was terrible throughout my dealings with them. Will never buy any LG products again in my life. Please don't make same mistake as I did, spend your money with companies that will take responsibility for their defective products.
Four years ago, I purchased the following LG appliances: a refrigerator, stove, dishwasher and microwave.
My problems with these appliances began three years after purchasing. The plastic parts in the tracks of the dishwasher broke and continue to fall off every time I use it, the refrigerator stopped working (and since it was still under warranty, LG changed the compressor on an only three years old refrigerator and with the stove the broil would only go on (high/low) for a few minutes and then shuts off. The oven stopped working completely. Unfortunately, I changed the appliances that I had working for ten years and bought LG appliances. This was the greatest mistake I ever made. These appliances are pure garbage. Needless to say, I am extremelly dissatisfied with LG Appliances and will never buy LG again!
I purchased an LG refrigerator with a pull out freezer in 2016. I had the compressor go right at the beginning of the pandemic. Waited several weeks for someone to repair it. Their customer service was horrible. They call you back in 3-5 business days with an appointment for a technician to come fix it. And you are waiting another week or more for that appointment - all with no fridge! Well here we are Friday Dec 17,2021 and the compressor is shot again! And someone will call me back in 3-5 days to book me a technician to fix it. This will be the 3 rd compressor in a fridge not even 10 years old.
LG is garbage. Buyer beware. And their customer service is worse! I will never ever buy LG again.
We received a new LG stove with a dent in drawer. Asked for a new drawer only. They agreed to send. Weeks passed with no word. Called to check. Have been getting the run around, nasty service rep who hung up, promised calls that never happen. Terrible customer service!
Purchased a new LG Wall Oven (Model #LWS3063ST) from Lowe's a few years ago, which had received very little use when it stopped working entirely. Called LG, but they said because it was over 1 year old, they wouldn't do anything. However, the repair man discovered a burned electircal wire in the unit's factor control panel, a clear indication of a manufacturing fault that could have started a fire and burned our house down! I wrote the president's office of LG and sent pictures of the burned connection. They promised to reimburse our repair cost. Then, inexplicably, the lady says she no longer works in that office and now LG had not only refused to reimbursed us, they will not respond to us. Terrible, terrible service, and very questionable safety issues in their products. NEVER buy or recommend LG to anyone.
Compressor want out on fridge and they wont replace it. Got it in 2015was charged $104 just for someone to tell me to trash it. That it will take over a year to get the part
Answer: They have dangerous appliances, and refused to reimburse us for the repair of an almost new (but over 1 year old) oven that was clearly a manufacturing defect (see image.)
Answer: THEY ARE NOT GOING TO SEND OUR REFUND AFTER PROMISING WE HAD SENT THE REQUIRED INFORMATION.
