I used Legal Zoom to incorporated my company. I had to call several times to get hold of a customer care agent. The hold was over an hour. Once i could get someone on the phone, I was directed to another person and she said my issue has been resolved and that she will direct me to another agent to confirm that but it took me to main line again and i had to wait for 1 hour. Also the $159 fee is very shady. Please be aware.

I was very excited about their legal plan they offered with the living trust I was ordering. They advertised you have unlimited attorney consultations. Sounded great considering it was all over my head and needed a little guidance, and definitely had questions. Turns out it's unlimited as long as each item you are calling about is a different legal matter. So you only get one consultation per legal matter. Pretty deceitful if you ask me.

Set up LLC for my wife. We have made about $2000 through the company and have paid legal zoom almost all of it as setup fees and as legal agent. They hit us with $150 and $299 recurring annual fees. Wife tried to cancel but until we can provide proof of change in agent (underway) they refuse to return the money. They do NOTHING to earn this money. Get someone else to help you set up your LLC and for goodness sake, do not make those crooks at legal zoom as your legal agent.

Ordered "Expedited" LLC package on 11-20. Of the $639 that I paid for the services, $200 was for expedited filing with the state. My account has changed to say that my filing has been delayed, and now my ETA has been pushed back into December even though I payed for the 7-10 business day service because I have work orders waiting on me. I called LegalZoom to see why it was delayed with the state and she said that we were at their mercy and she didn't know any additional info. I called the state and she said it wasn't being delayed, it was taking the normal amount of time because they didn't pay for the expedited filing. Thanks LegalZoom, I'll have to let my customers know that they can find someone else or just keep waiting because LegalZoom didn't provide the services that they were paid to do. Also left message on the 17th and sent email on the 18th concerning EIN, today is the 23rd and haven't heard back. I wish that I had just taken the advice I was given and stayed away from these guys. Called back just now and waited for 11 minutes and gave up.

Dealing with LegalZoom has been a nightmare. I was filing for an uncontested divorce in California. They took over 1 1/2 weeks to mail me the paperwork. They could have easily let me download the forms after I paid for it - which was what I was expecting. Then, they figured out my monthly income based on the W2 earnings for last year... This figure was completely wrong due to the fact that I work in sales, and we have a base salary + commissions. I had to "fill out" a request to make a change, which took 1 week! Yes, 1 week! Got the change today Friday, and instead of making a change they "added" the new monthly salary to the Respondent's salary information! So I called them - they bounced me back and forth 4 times and the last person I spoke to did not know what a "figure" was - really? In addition she said that they could probably not make the change until EOD next Monday! This was a very painful, inefficient experience. I want a refund. This experience was not worth the money I paid.

The site is difficult to navigate to make necessary changes and set up an Attorney Consultation. It took us several hours and several calls to finally accomplish what we had intended to do. Eventually, we talked with a couple of associates who were very helpful and able to guide us through the process we needed to complete.

I used Legal Zoom to set up my LLC. I paid for the premium service and barely received the bare minimum service. You can file you own EIN online and get the same day. I spent three weeks trying to get my EIN number after they filed the S-4 form for me with the IRS. Every follow up call I made resulted in only that they filed the paperwork, it was out of their hands I just had to wait. The website advertises for the Express Gold package that I would be guaranteed discounted, expedited EIN. That is far from true! Applying for EIN online is free with the IRS. And expedited? I don't think so... Only after sending threatening emails, was I able to get the contact information for the IRS to verify the status of my EIN number. Why exactly did I pay LegalZoom to do this for me if they can't even follow up for me? Also, I didn't receive the contact information until I called legal zoom 3 times and sent 2 emails. Their "expedited' response was here is the number you can call yourself. I called the IRS and stayed on hold for minutes. The gentleman that took my call was very polite and apologetic to the fact the third party was not more helpful and suggested in the future if I need an EIN I could apply online for free. He provided me my EIN number instantly... Again, what was I paying legal zoom for? My dealings with them have not been very pleasant and would not recommend them to anyone.
A totally unrelated topic, I received an email from them yesterday that I had an important official notice that I needed to file my annual renewal with the Minnesota Secretary of State. I am in Texas and my LLC is set up in Texas. When questioned on this, they just said, Oh just disregard, it was sent by mistake. How am I going to expect this organization to advise me when filings are due when they can't send the correct information to the correct people. I asked for a refund, as I paid for the Express Gold and barely received the Economy Service. We will see if they admit to their mistakes and faults and provide the much deserved refund.

I had service for open corp. charge for $490 July 2015, but they take out $29.99 every month.

If it's something that you specified you didn't want to participate in or you did not see details of the plan in the questionnaire when you originally placed an order with us, then you should not have been enrolled. I am so distraught by the errors and delays in processing my State Articles of Incorporation that I don't trust legal Zoom to complete the 501c3 filing. It's been 8 weeks and we are now back to the point where we were 6 weeks ago due to an improperly trained customer service rep. Should have been worried when she told me she had never seen what she was dealing with before. My recommendation is DO NOT USE LEGAL ZOOM! If I had known what I know now I would have done it myself! Even with me working full time it would have been so much faster!

I thought the LegalZoom service could save me some time. Instead it cost me much more of my time and a lot of my money.
Pretty much all of their services come with hidden recurring fees that they will never mention or explain it to you until after they have your money, of course.
I called and cancelled my service from them (I even received a cancellation notice email) and they charged me again LATER THAT SAME DAY!
I called back to have them refund the charge only to find out the service is totally clueless. The customer service lady was rude and had the incorrect information. Their own website was giving me different information than what she was telling me, and they were both wrong.
They refused to issue a refund for the charges after I cancelled my account. So I had to dispute the charges through my card company.
I will NEVER do business with LegalZoom again and that is the advice I will give to everyone else in the future.

As you can see, a LegalZoom Rep has responded below with more of the same old run around. I would like to make it known that I sent 3 different support emails trying to get support, but only received an email when they found my reviews on this site. That just goes to show the kind of company they are. Covering their own asses, not their customers.
Nothing else has changed. They claim to be sending me a refund check. But then a few hours later they charged me AGAIN!
They also claim that their system won't allow them to issue a simple refund to my card. So just to get that straight, they can take your money all day long, but can't refund it... that's an amazing service you have there!
