I have set up 4 LLCs through this company. All works well until they screw you for add ons and you start to see monthly charges come out of your account. They scam you when you set up your business. Stay away.

My partner and I started a company through LegalZoom. My bad review stems from this: We had a simple problem of failing to send an IRS form back to them in a timely manner. I admit we were late due to our business and work activities and simply overlooked sending it. We received no reminder from LegalZoom to send it. I called them to asked them if I could send it to them and they said no. Then I asked for an IRS address to file the IRS form ourselves since they now refused to file it with the IRS. Yes we were late, but we wanted to rectify the situation. They said they not only did not have the address, they also gave me a wrong fax number for the IRS. Once we paid, their support completely stopped. Instead they washed their hands of us. And guess why! It's because they were already paid. Their customer service is the typical "tap dancing" and beating around the bush and saying nothing. In summary, in my opinion, LegalZoom is an expensive way to get a fancy binder with standard business papers in it. They offer NO support after you pay them and even give wrong information! I don't trust them because I have been given wrong information leading me to suspect them being wrong with other things. I feel taken for a service that sounds good, but is NOT! Please Beware!

I decided to use Legal Zoom for a DBA application. Legal Zoom has consistently fallen far short of my expectations. One uses a service like theirs for convenience and speed. Are they convenient? Maybe. Are they speedy? Definitely not. I completed the initial DBA form and submitted it. I received the DBA form to sign within 36 hours - not great for this electronic age, but not awful. Then I discovered that I made a silly mistake on the application. I had to call their 800 number and speak to someone, who input the correction. It took 5 (yes, 5) business days to receive the corrected form, which is ridiculous. No one at the company seemed to know why it took so long, and furthermore, no one cared. When I finally received the corrected DBA, I signed it and sent it back via priority mail. Over a week later they acknowledged receipt of it, and then 4 days later sent a message that the form had been filed with the state. These are ridiculous time frames for a company that is supposed to provide convenience and speed. In addition to operating at geologic speed, communication from the company is very weak - clearly they have not put themselves in the place of their customers to see how their messages are interpreted. Along with my DBA application, I also started an application for a seller's permit. Big mistake. I should have waited until I received the DBA and opened a bank account, because bank info is required for the seller's permit. Anyway, I suspended the seller's permit app until I had the bank info, and have been subjected ever since to a barrage of emails encouraging me to complete the seller's permit app. However, these emails do not identify that it is the seller's permit they are referring to - they simply say "Action Required on Your Pending Application", which could be either the seller's permit or the DBA app. So every time I get one of these emails, I have to log on to make sure it is not the DBA app I should be addressing. Regarding messages for the DBA app, all they tell you is the current status of your document - they provide no info as to how soon one might expect to hear progress to the next step - for that type of info, you have to call the 800 number. All in all, I am heartily sorry that I decided to use Legal Zoom, and will never use them again for any applications.

Even though we already own a company, we wanted to make sure our new company opening by our sons is done correctly and secure. While completing the form there were just a few that could be answered differently, but the live support was awesome! Very clear answers!

This business is HORRIBLE! I'm so regret to have them as my services. I paid for faster service when they claimed that it should only takes 10 business, I did not receive my package until 40 days after the 1st payment has been paid. Not only that, I closed my account with them a year ago and they still charged to my account as of now. Totally SUCK services

Courtney is awesome. A lot of customer service reps and salespeople are either badly trained, or they just don't understand the concept of providing good service. Courtney went above and beyond. Courtney is well trained and truly understands the sales process. She also went for the close, which gives a chance to overcome objections, versus simply giving up. She was very knowledgeable of the products and made sure that all of my questions were answered. I am glad I spoke with her and went with Legalzoon over the other company, mainly because Courtney is excellent at her job. Kudos to Courtney.

I recently used LegalZoom to help me form an LLC. That was a mistake. The process started with multiple delays and I actually had a representative insinuate I was lying about sending in documentation when I screenshot the sent email to prove to them I had sent it in, twice! The next day, they acknowledged they received it. Off to a great start! I ended up having to call in multiple times to resolve issues, which wasted large parts of my day on the phone with them. The original representative up-sold me to their Express Gold package, and that was another mistake. Customer service was lacking and I could not believe they would insinuate I was lying about sending documentation in. Here we are two months later and I find out there was additional documentation I needed to submit to the state, which is costing another $525. I had asked one of the numerous representatives I spoke with on the phone about the process and they never informed me of further steps. I asked to have my fees refunded for their services and of course they are unwilling to do that. The representative who responded to my request said all the documentation was in the binder that was sent, which it wasn't, and additionally if they knew there were additional steps, why wouldn't they inform me when I was asking on the phone? I went to the Secretary of State's office yesterday to find out why my LLC was in default, which is how I ultimately became aware of all these issues. They informed me that this is quite common when using an online third party for these situations. The person filing for the LLC has access to all of the documentation and steps. The entire process is known before it even starts. LegalZoom sent me an incomplete LLC and did not clearly inform of all the necessary steps. If you are looking to form an LLC, check with your state's office first. They can give you all the paperwork and inform you of the process. I found out how simple it is to complete one of these too late. Save yourself money and go check with your state first. My request for the return of my fees seemed simple and clearly justified, but unfortunately they are not willing to honor it.

I started using Legal Zoom in September 2014. I am not very business savy and this is my first experience. I am very pleased with the overall service and phone calls. I went through the process of ordering up the Basic Power of Attorney documents and thought that I would have them immediately after paying for it. When I realized i couldn't download right away I called. A friendly girl said, "you will have them in 24 hrs." I was pleased as I was under a very strict time restraint and I needed them ASAP before I left town. I did not receive them in 24 hrs. So I called again. I got Amy and she was very patient with me as I was frustrated. She helped me "expedite" the documents with another fee of $20. I received the documents the next morning and was able to get them notarized before I left. Amy explained the nothing happens in 24 hrs. Unless you pay for them to be expedited. I then wrote Legal Zoom and asked if I could be refunded my $20 since I was told by a service rep that I would get them in 24 hrs. Today I was refunded my $20 with no questions asked! I definitely will recommend Legal Zoom to my friends. The documents were well written and complete to be notarized. Thanks!

The company had my information for weeks and still has yet to submit my trademark to USPTO. The wait times are long and when I was finally was able to speak to someone. He (some arrogant young man) made it his purpose to tell me that he couldn't help me. He said that I called the processing department... well isn't that what is holding the submission up... the processing department! Horrible! This company may be good for incorporations but the processing department lacks the professionalism to handle trademark submissions.
