Taylor Law Group set me up with a part time attorney that wasn't in my in my location, which I made a requirement. That attorney suggested that I submit a complaint to WRAL, five on your side. Legal match refunded my up front fee but now I get a bill from Taylor Law Group for services. What did they do #1 and where is a copy of a retainer#2.
Attorneys beware of Legal Match based in Reno Nevada as a source for client leads. Legal Match is unscrupulous for their misrepresentations over inflating the amount of leads and the quality of leads seducing you into a 1 year contract that leaves you stuck making payments for a substandard service. For example, in the territory in California, costing over $1,110 a month I was advised they provide an average of 70 leads per month. The average has been less than 50. Then a representative who has apparent authority advises that they will let you out of your contract but later advises they cannot. Their overly friendliness and willingness to assist you does not make up for the lack of quality in potential clients who mostly are just looking for free legal advice, cannot afford an attorney, are seeking contingency arrangements for amounts that do not warrant the time, do not respond to you, have weak cases or no case. You spend up to 30 minutes on a consult, further time with follow up phone calls, emails, review of documents, so maybe you acquire 1-2 out of 50 that will actually retain you. After almost 7 months I have (3) clients from Legal Match. Maybe if you are lucky, you break even after all the time and effort expended, but in reality if placing a value on your time, you lose. Don't trust them!
Mr. Derek Brown did not complete the paperwork for my Trust I hired him to complete. Poor communication. I had to call him several times and he did not return my calls. As of today Aug 5th 2025 it's been 4 months with no updates or status on my Trust. Very unreliable.
Dianne, We’re sorry to hear that you were unhappy with your recent LegalMatch experience. You didn’t get the representation you were seeking, and that is understandably frustrating. We help connect clients like you with attorneys who are interested in taking your case, but we do not oversee the work of individual lawyers. We review each attorney before they join LegalMatch, and do not allow membership to anyone who has an open complaint with their state bar association. If a lawyer fails you, please know that you have the right to file a complaint against them with the bar. ~Jessie at LegalMatch
I received an email in the middle of the night regarding my "password reset" and confirmation of my talktoalawyer subscription, neither of which I initiated. No one calls you back, emails to support go unanswered. How sad is it that a LEGAL service is this neglectful. Shame on you. What do I have to do to safely disconnect from this shady business?
Carla, Please accept our apology for this confusing inconvenience. Unfortunately, a server migration glitch this past weekend triggered a lot of delayed emails. Upon review I found one account with your first name, last initial, and location, and I was able to find a related record of Talk to a Lawyer membership that was purchase in January 2025. This is a yearly subscription that renews annually. I am unable to confirm your full identity, so if you are no longer interested, you may cancel this by sending an email request to [email protected] (as stated in our Terms of Service). ~Jessie at LegalMatch
Zero clients, four months in, $1,000 a month. Stats speak for themselves. Promised money back guarantee. But it's not in the contract.
Given that you are still fairly new to the membership, it seems you could use more support in making the LegalMatch system work for your legal practice. We have faith that if you share your concerns with your account manager, they will be able to guide you on how to maximize the return on your investment.
We want you to experience the kind of success we know is possible for you based on experiences like Attorney Steve O. From Denver, CO who says, “I would say that overall, LegalMatch has increased my revenue by $2,000 or $3,000 per month, and that represents about 20 percent of my overall business.”
Please work closely with your account manager so they can provide individualized guidance and help you get your LegalMatch membership working for you as intended.

I attempted to sign up for a free consultation for their service. Before I could complete my submission, a form to add my credit card in case I wanted to sign up for their service popped up and I had to complete it to receive their consultation. I signed up thinking that I could try out their service and cancel my subscription if I was not satisfied. However, once it went through and I attempted to seek legal counsel, no one was responding to my inquiry. Then I realized that it was an annual subscription and I emailed the company but no one responded. My bank refused to believe me and to this day I still have not received any legal advice or refund. No one has offered assistance or consultation. Do not trust this business or try out any "free" consultation. They probably have no one that has any legal background and only provide general legal information that you can look up on google.
Anita,
You may have confused LegalMatch with another company that has a similar name. We do not offer free consultations, and we have no record of any client with your name and location in our system. Our basic lawyer-client matching service is always free to clients, and any paid products or account upgrades can easily be cancelled within the same payment processor used to complete the purchase (e.g. PayPal, Stripe).
Kindly,
Jessie
I needed a lawyer in Wisconsin and I got one courtesy call from New Mexico, then 10 months of service fees. There was no contact with any attorney and no way to initiate from my end. This website only exists to take advantage of people who are already having a hard time.
Krista,
Over the past 20 years, millions of clients have had success with our free attorney-client matching service. We're sorry to hear about the confusion you experienced, which is understandably frustrating.
Talk to a Lawyer is a different, for-fee service designed for those who are seeking immediate legal advice and who can benefit from ongoing reduced-rate access to general legal consultations.
It sounds like you made that purchase in error after submitting your case for our free attorney-client matching service. As described in the confirmation email, the Talk to a Lawyer subscription can be cancelled by sending an email request to: [email protected].
Hope this helps!
Jessie
I posted my case about a month ago and I paid for the 3 month subscription to allow for unlimited consultations. After I did that they still asked me to pay for consultations. I thought maybe this was a mistake so I tried to sign into my account. I received no username or password by email. I contacted customer service by email and nothing. I tried by phone several times and got through once. He told me we would reset my password to Welcome1 and if it doesn't work to call him back. It didn't work I called him back and nothing. Since I have placed several more calls and emails and nothing. I have paid for a service I am unable to access, nobody is willing to help me and at this point all I want is a refund and to terminate my account because these people have scammed me of my hard earned money and I already found a lawyer on my own. Now I'm just waiting for two months from now when they try to renew my subscription on for another 3 months….

Total rip-off and a scam against honest lawyers. Stay away if you are an attorney. The site charges attorneys outrageous monthly fees, then supersaturates the market with hungry, desperate attorneys. You spend much more time chasing prospects than actually working for clients. The prospective clients generally do not want to pay reasonable fees. It's a race to the bottom. I'm locked in for another two years. Stay away!
Thomas,
Given that you are still fairly new to the membership, it seems you could use more support in making the LegalMatch system work for your legal practice. We have faith that if you share your concerns with your account manager, they will be able to guide you on how to maximize the return on your investment.
LegalMatch receives more than 40,000 case leads each month across all legal categories, and each member attorney receives whatever portion of those leads corresponds with the practice category and location they selected during account setup. We cannot do the deeply personal work of screening these leads for you, and neither does your local bar association. There are just too many factors to consider, and only you can know which cases are valuable based on your personal practice-building goals.
In contrast to the bar associations, we recommend clients talk with at least 3 lawyers before making a decision on which one to hire. One of our goals is to improve client access to justice by sharing their information with multiple attorneys so they can compare and make an informed choice. We consider this a win-win, because each lawyer gets more leads in total, and each client gets the opportunity to speak with more attorneys than their local bar will share. Our members are required to be in good standing with their local bar association, and we see LegalMatch as a complimentary service not a competitive one.
We want you to experience the kind of success we know is possible for you based on experiences like Attorney Ryan G. From Des Moines, IA who says, "I have seen a return on investment in excess of 500%. LegalMatch is a solid investment. It's like fishing with a net."
Please work closely with your account manager so they can provide individualized guidance and help you get your LegalMatch membership working for you as intended.

I made the payment for one time consultation. They got to schedule me but the lawyer never called me. I now have to chase after the payment I made through paypal
We’re sorry to hear that you were unhappy with your recent LegalMatch experience. You didn’t get the representation you were seeking, and that is understandably frustrating. As a courtesy, we have refunded your Talk to a Lawyer payment in full.

This company flouts Federal law and harasses people who do not want to be bothered with telephone solicitation.
Do not trust any company that purports to refer you to a Lawyer but flagrantly violates Federal Law on unwanted solicitation.
Absolute trash.
For more than 20 years LegalMatch has been a trusted source of lead generation for many law firms, and we take pride in the success we've been able to promote for happy member attorneys like Lauren E. In Chicago, IL who says, "LegalMatch places the opportunity at the attorney’s fingertips versus waiting for a prospective client to click an ad on social media or a search engine." We also do not wish to inconvenience anyone, and we take feedback about our outreach team very seriously. Please email me at [email protected], and I will add you to our Do Not Call List.

I was having a hard time with legalmatch the lawyers didn't practice were I stayed so forth and etc but they got the problem corrected I'm currently in the lawyers office as I write thus review hope this works out
Thank you for sharing about your experience, and we wish you a successful legal outcome! ~Jessie
I am an attorney who has been a subscriber to LegalMatch.com for several years, hoping to receive quality case referrals. However, my experience with the service has been overwhelmingly negative. The cases I have received through LegalMatch have been of very low quality and often seem like and in fact are spam.
Moreover, my interactions with the company have been disappointing. Despite being a long-term subscriber who has paid a significant amount of money for their services, I have not been treated with the respect or consideration that one would expect.
Based on my experience, I would whole heartedly not recommend other attorneys to their referral network. The cases provided are not worth the investment, and the company's treatment of its subscribers is bad in my opinion. Additionally, the monthly costs are ridiculously high. Based on my personal experience and opinion, I would not recommend to anyone.
Over the past 20 years, LegalMatch has helped thousands of attorneys build their clientele with less effort. Our business model is based on a solid understanding of the business skills that are not generally taught in law school. We do our best to handle the heavy-lifting of bringing in a steady stream of client leads, so lawyers like you can focus on the part you do best -- practicing law.

I've escalated your feedback and concerns, requesting that a more senior account manager reach out to provide you with individualized guidance and help you get your LegalMatch membership working for you as intended so you can maximize the return on your investment.

So I signed up and low and behold customer service was minimal. Besides that the website doesn't bring up my keyboard and tried to reset my password and can't because of it. I'm reporting this a fraud I suggest you all do the same.
In order to provide free attorney-client matching services to people who are seeking legal representation, we use automations for many aspects of our business. It sounds like you experienced technical difficulties that are beyond the scope of our work. To reset your password, please call (775) 277-3705.

They promote themselves as a matching referral service but they do absolutely no intake of PCs at all. They do not filter out any clients whatsoever, so their claim of having thousands of potential clients seeking attorney assistance is more like 100s who actually are ready to hire an attorney or even have a case that can be worked on. On top of that, you are competing to reach the client first from other LegalMatch members. They prey on newer attorneys hoping to build business, but are no more than a funneling system for PCs doing online research on their issue. You are better off joining your local bar association's referral program until you build a name for yourself. Save yourself the money on worthless leads, and always be weary of companies that do not offer a 30-day money back guarantee. If their services were this valuable, why not allow people have a tryout period?

Legal match sent me the name of an attorney who practices in New Jersey and Florida. I needed help with my will and setting up LLC's. The attorney that they sent me charged me $1500 and four months later the task is still not completed at first he was responding to my texts, my emails and my calls and promising me next week next week next week Here it is January 2024 and now he doesn't respond at all..

They call almost every day wanting to send referrals to our law firm. We have never responded and they will not give up in calling and leaving rude voicemails! Came on here and read about this company and after doing this it all makes sense. Thanks but no thanks!

Basically leads who cannot pay and many family law cases with people angry that they did not comply with CPS's case plan. AVOID!

I recently signed up as an attorney and the lead quantity and quality are really bad. Attorneys should avoid using this service. There are many other lead providers that are much better.
Given that you are still relatively new to the membership, it seems you could use more support in navigating the platform to filter for the kinds of cases you want. Your account manager is there to help you do that. We have faith that if you share your concerns with your account manager, they will be able to guide you on how to use the platform in a way that maximizes the return on your investment.
We want you to experience the kind of success we know is possible for you based on experiences like Attorney Kristoffer S. From Meridian, ID who says, “LegalMatch is providing quality leads at an affordable price. I feel like it's more of a partnership between my office and LegalMatch and not just me paying a subscription for leads that I don't use.”

My experience with LegalMatch was unpleasant. Despite my numerous pleas to be removed from their contact list, LegalMatch keeps in contacting me and my firm, leaving me with no choice but to share my negative experience with them.
LegalMatch created a huge burden on me as a young attorney and I greatly regret using their services. Even though I utilized their software the best I could and had a great response time for new leads, I had a hard time obtaining any satisfactory leads. I was trapped in my contract, despite dismal results after 6 months, and could not get out without paying money I did not have. Not only did I receive inadequate support throughout the entirety of the term, but my case manager went missing for several months, failing to respond to my inquiries. The costs for their services for my contract were the equivalent of several consult fees per month. In my experience, most if not all LegalMatch leads were expecting discounted rates and were unwilling to pay a consult fee.
But for the character limit I could go on, but overall, I would advise you avoid the frustration and LegalMatch altogether.

Bruce,
After responding to this same review you posted on TrustPilot the other day, I was able to further investigate your complaint. It seems there may have been some confusion during your original call. The number you were given referred to your rolling 52-day case volume at that time (52 days is how long a case remains active before expiration), not a guaranteed monthly total. Your current monthly post volume is consistent with the historical figures for your allocation.
We strongly encourage you to work with your dedicated account manager and work the system as it was designed, so you can get the best return on your investment and experience the kind of success we know is possible based on feedback from our happiest member attorneys. For example, Attorney Alan R. From Overland Park, KS told us, “I have grown so satisfied with the return on my investment that I extended my membership for another three years.”
We're confident that if you follow the best practices shared by your account manager, you can get the system working as intended.
