Well, maybe the older ones were made better than this one. First off, I'm not sure if this is really leather or what type it might be? It doesn't even smell like any leather I've ever seen! It's so stiff it literally stands up on its own. I sit down on the bike and it doesn't give, pushes the back part up and it's riding 2" above my shoulders. Again, because it's STIFF!! The left side gun pocket is a pretty good size and I can stow away my S&W Shield .40 without issues. For the price I hope to use it a couple of months and then I'll start looking for a replacement. You get what you pay for...should have spent twice as much to start and been done with it. The best part about it is the 5 snaps and the pockets. My other leather jackets, riding jackets etc. are XL and that's what I went with here. Fit perfectly.

This appears to be a well made vest. I won't know about the durability until I have worn it for at least six months. I like all the pockets and the zippers and snaps are great. I normally wear an XL but got a XXL so I can wear it over a jacket without having to have extenders. The vest fits perfectly. This is an excellent vest for a GREAT price. I read a review where it was said the vest doesn't smell like leather. That's because it's made from buffalo. Tanned buffalo smells much different than cow hide. The buffalo should wear much better than ordinary leather.

Excellent vest, but as typical with Leatherup products, size is a problem. Everything that I have ordered from Leatherup from gloves, boots, jacket and vest had to go back due to size. This vest was a re-order due to size. Vest is quality leather, maybe a little stiff but Mink oil should help, I had no need for the gun pockets, but keep in mind, the more pockets the less patches you can sew. The snaps are very easy to snap and unsnap and hope that is not a problem at 70 mph. The leather lacing is a bit cheesy, but replaced it with quality leather stitching. In spite of all my returns, I have never had a problem with LeatherUp's return policy. They are good people selling a quality product at great prices. If only they would better their sizing methods. But I keep coming back.

This is a great vest for very little cash. I like the fit. I dont think it runs small like some have suggested. I typically wear a large in jackets and shirts and wanted a vest to wear over my shop jacket and according ordered a XL to accommodate the bulk of a jacket or shirt. It fits great. It is a heavy leather so it feels durable. The only down side are the seems on the back. It doesn't have a FULL open back for club patches but that is just a cosmetic preference. If you want a vest and don't want to spend $100 its a great deal.

This is a great vest! Well built with quality leather. I originally ordered a different vest (XS-1378) and when I received it it did not match the measurements on the chart. The back was too long. Frankie in customer service assisted me with the entire return process. He kept me posted on the process by email. He had the remaining stock measured and it was determined they were all longer than the chart. So he had staff measure my second choice vest (this one) to be sure it would fit right before I decided to exchange. Return/exchange process was painless. Frankie went out of his way to deliver exceptional customer service, and honestly, even with the great pricing, I would go elsewhere if I had experienced poor service. I will buy from LeatherUp anytime and highly recommend them for quality products at a great value, and excellent customer service!

Great vest for a great price. I was concerned about how it would fit but much to my surprise the fitment chart was spot on. I wear an XXL in every t-shirt, sweat shirt and jacket I have and the fitment chart said I should order a XXXL, I was concerned but it fit perfect although it may be a bit snug if I wear it over a riding jacket but it's perfect without a jacket. Quality of the leather is awesome. Highly recommend this vest.
