This is the second Dark Rider Black-Leather Half Helmet with 3-Snap Visor I have owned. The first one protected me in a serious wreck where a truck turned into my hubby and I and totaled the motorcycle. I ordered a different brand from a different company and the fit was awful, so was the quality. I sent it back immediately and ordered this SAME brand. Fits perfectly, excellent quality and you can't beat the price. I would certainly order a third one if needed. I also purchase the tinted and clear full face three snap visors to go with this helmet. I'm all set to ride again on our new motorcycle.
Awesome looking helmet, high quality. What's better than leather, when you love leather :o)
This helmet is great! The fit was good and so was the interior of the helmet that permits great comfort. The leather finish looks smooth with great use of materials. The shipping is very fast! So awesome to buy here!
I purchased this helmet for the husband as a Christmas gift, this is his second helmet from outlaw and he just loves it... Best helmet ever!!
Great helmet. Great look. My only complaint as with everyone else is the strap and fastener. I solved the problem by adding a snap fastener. Works great but shouldn't have to do that...
Great helmet for low price. Haven't used it yet (winter!) Fit is good , but i did shave a tiny bit off padding to facilitate my fat head above the ears. I'm hard to fit, but this was best half helmet I've found. Doesn't sit too high, so looks good too.
Nice for the price and feels good. Like others, if the D rings were made of round stainless instead of stamped out of flat metal they woul dbe much easier to work with. I replaced them by sewing on a quick release buckle. Outlaw sticker came off easy, but decided to leave the DOT stricker on as it looked to leave a mark if removed.
I like the helmet except for one thing....... the visor keeps coming off doing 70 mph down the road and I can't order any from you because you don't have them in stock
I think it is a good helmet for the money, looks great and very comfortable. I also bought the snap on visor, smoked shield, love it.
This is the first helmet I have worn since 1986. That was the last time I rode a bike. The helmet back then was a full face Author Fulmore and it wasn't easy to put on and remove, but I got used to it.
Now this Dark Rider helmet is comfortable and stylish and the D-rings on the strap are easy to loosen due to a small tab that you can grab onto and pull it loose. There is no need to be trying to fumble with a tight strap trying to losen it from the D-rings.
The finish it nice and even though it's not real lether, it certainly looks as though it is.
This helmet is also comfortable to wear and feel good.
If you like half-helmets and don't have a huge budget, you won't go wrong with this one.
Fit is just a fine, right on the dot. The leather cover is smooth and defect-free. A very nice helmet for the $$$. I have only one complaint: the D-rings could have been tumbled or de-burred at the factory. There is much friction against the strap and it makes it difficult to tighten and loosen. It will wear in and an I will smooth the inside edges of the D-rings to improve. If anything happen to it I will purchased without thinking.
Like the helmet seems small at first be adjusted quickly to my head
Fit is just a bit snug. I would prefer snug vs. loose. Some people might need to consider getting a larger size, especoially if you measure at the limit. Leather cover is smooth and defect-free. A nice helmet. I have only one complaint: the D-rings could have been tumbled or deburred at the factory. There is much friction against the strap and it makes it difficult to tighten and loosen. Looks too huge on my head, chin strap is way too long, should have a quick release, I returned it and went with the Bell "Pit boss" helmet instead.
Like all most half helmets you do get the mushroom head but it's not as bad as most. What everyone says about the rough edges on the D rings is true, a little filing and they work like a charm.
I like everything about the helmet except the rings the strap goes thru. I think they should be made of round stock and not square cause I`m having a hard time pulling the strap thru to tighten it up but I can deal with it.
The helmets look great and fit good. We went on a long ride under the summer sun and both my wife and I commented our heads remained cool unlike other helmets we have worn. I would suggest ordering one size larger than you normally wear. Once we got the correct fit no complaints!
Very comfortable, nice touch if you are wearing a leather jacket
I just purchased this helmet and I'm thrilled. I usually wear a Full face helmet because I believe in the protection that they provide. But on those hot days riding through the country, the experience is like wearing no helmet at all. This helmet is extremely comfortable and has a classic design. The thing that really sets this helmet apart is the leather like covering. I looks like a very high end model and sets itself apart from all of the painted helmets. I combined this with a Zan headgear bandana and a pair of Pacific Coast foldable goggles and they look and work great together. How can you lose for $35? Thanks LeatherUp.
Nice helmet, worth the $$$ how ever I don't like a dbl D strap tie so I installed a zip clip on the strap & use the Dbl D for adjustment. The vinyl top looks good but it reminds me of the vinyl tops on the older cars. they use to peel off with age & were subject to scratches, have to wait & see. fits nice but no ear & neck cover to attach for cold rides. but if your a "die hard" & an old leather neck it's ok.
Answer: Leather can be stretched some what if it's wet. But you should seek a professional cobbler to see if they can be stretched before you try it. Quite honestly you won't have much luck with customer service I found. They're very obnoxious, unhelpful and generally not pleasant to deal with. I wish you good luck
Answer: This is why Revzilla.com, denniskirk.com, and motorcyclesuperstore.com are so popular. I called each of these companies before and spoke to an actual person who had the product in their hands while talking with me.
Answer: You unfortunately made a bad choice doing business with this company. Go check their reviews. They are the worst company I have ever dealt with. I'd be amazed if you get ANY response from them at all! Sorry to tell ya.
