This helmet fits me very well but I find it a little heavy, and fogs up easily in fully closed position in cold weather. And somewhat difficult to open with gloved hand. This is a awesome looking piece of head gear.
I got this helmet for improved visibility, the inner visor and quick connect chin strap were just gravy, my bike has an upright riding position and I can now see the gauges without tipping my head down. Although this helmet is more stable at speed there is considerably more wind noise than my previouse Bell, but that can be remedied with ear plugs. I followed the size chart and am pleased with the fit.
Once you see how the face sheild works, it can be raised and lowered with just your thumb.
I love the full face feature, and the sight lines as the face is very open. The padding is good for the price of the helmet.
The face shield is horrible. You will not want to use it as the quality is the equivalent of the cheap sunglasses you might buy for a child. XElement needs to improve the quality of this immediately, as I had trouble reading street signs with the sunshield down.
This is one of , if not the best helmet I have ever used in forty years of riding. I thought the design would be useful but had no idea for sure. I got it out of the box and the size and fit were spot on. THe removable chin piece is simple and works well. Great field of view with this thing. I was shocked at how well it worked and the quality of the helmet for the money.
I feel like it is a great bargain and recommend it highly.
I bought this to replace a stolen helmet and my only concern is how I will be able to lock it to my bike. I love the easy release feature, fits great and looks like I should have paid more. I have yet to use it, but I know I will be pleased.
The face shield is impossible to close with one hand, you have to lift it up with both hands in order to close it. Hard to explain but once you get it you will see. Other than that the helmet is great. The face shield is so big that you can see everything around you and still looks like a street helmet. Other than it arriving with a cracked face shield from packaging the helmet is great.
Purchased this helmet for my wife, who is new to riding. So far, the helmet is doing great - the wide field of view and integrated drop-down tinted shield are her two favorite things about the helmet. The fit is good and modular construction is a handy perk.
I had tried various full face helments on and always felt like my vision was hindered by them. After looking online I saw this one and ordered it. Wow it is amazing. The chin bar is removable, 2 air vents, tinted drop down visor. The chin stap is very easy to release and the shield it easily raised with one hand. I got on the interstate at 90 mpr and it did not feel like my head was going to rip off (no windshield on bike) I am very pleased and would order it again.
it's a gift for my boyfriend and he love's the helmet and the review from other customers help me a lot to decide to purchase the helmet. The price is not bad, the quality of it is good. thank you leather up.
I only have about a hundred miles on this so far. Helmet was on sale for $70 and seems well worth that. I'm used to a full face, but was looking for something not quite as hot for summer riding. In 3/4 mode, this helmet seems fine. Chin strap very easy to connect/disconnect. Once you get used to the trick of lifting the visor straight up to unlock it from the up position, it's pretty easy to flip down one handed, but took a bit of practice.
The only gripe I really have with the helmet is the cheesy plastic clips that hold the chin bar to the helmet. They seem a bit ... well flimsy. In the full face mode. I doubt they'd hold the chin bar on in case of an accident, so you have some false sense of safety with it in the full face mode. If you want full face protection, I'd suggest sticking to a real full face helmet. Other than that, a pretty good value.
I'm quite pleased with this helmet for $70. The field of vision this helmet offers is huge compared to other helmets I've used. The options it offers are solid. Best bang for your buck in my opinion. It hasn't fogged up on my yet, and I've been in some serious cold/humidity. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the quality of the flip down sun shield, as it distorts your vision. But for $70 you better believe I'm happy with it.
Excellent Helmet! Wide, almost 180degree field of vision. The plastic is free of distortion, as well as the flip down sun visor. There was enough room for my prescription glasses. And the full face piece deflected the cold air on the early spring ride very nicely. A steal at $90..! Just like all the the Xelement items I have purchased here.
This helmet saved my life on Thursday, July 9th, in Dallas, Texas. I was wearing this helmet when a car turned in front of me from the left-hand lane in an attempt to cross my lane and get to a parking lot on the other side. There was no turn signal, no warning. I hit the front passenger quarter of the car with my motorcycle and flew over the handlebars, rolling onto the hood and then off the hood. The driver then ran over me, and I was dragged about five feet under the car, where I was pinned. The car was a Nissan Altima, and by all accounts I should not have fit under there, much less my helmet.
Police and pedestrians assembled in the next four minutes and lifted the car off my pinned, lifeless body. I was not breathing. An ambulance took me to a nearby hospital for emergency surgeries. Thirteen hours later, I was able to breathe unassisted. Today, six days later, I can walk and talk. I have a lot of stitches and a sprained ankle, but no broken bones and no concussion. Not even a tiny hemorrhage in the brain, thanks in part to this excellent helmet.
I kept the helmet. It is shaven a bit from the road and from the undercarriage of the car. That could have been my skull! The mouthpiece cracked under the extreme circumstances, and a small area started melting from the heat of the car. However, my head is perfectly intact. It is the least bruised or broken part of my body. I will buy this helmet for any friends or family who ride. The cushioning and construction came through under the most arduous of road tests.
I have a police report and a security camera video that bear out what I experienced. Many thanks to the manufacturers of Xelement Evolution 2-IN-1 Black Helmet as well as to LeatherUp for effectively saving my life for only $62.95. Please feel free to contact me if you would like to examine the condition of the helmet post-accident. All the best!
This by far the best helmet I own. The fit was is spot on. The buckle design is so easy, one handed operation and secure. The visor is phenomenal! I'm not exaggerating when I say I've forgotten that I have it down... It provides full peripheral sight without distortion, is easy to open and chose with one hand, and locks open automatically. Removing the chin bar is simple and with it off you have more ventilation but the visor is still large enough to protect from bugs and debris. The cut outs in the padding allowed me to easily attach Bluetooth speakers and mic. The sun visor locks inside the helmet when retracted so no worries about it sliding down. I really can't say enough about this helmet. I've had it for two weeks and no longer wear my Bell or Hawk helmets, it releases them!
I just got my motorcycle license a little while ago, so I'm not the most experienced rider out there. However, though I have little experience on the road, I do know that I thuroughly enjoy my helmet. I love having the modular option, and the built in sun visor has come in so handy! It certainly has helped me save money on riding glasses. The large shield allows for a massive field of view. The helmet doesn't get in the way of my vision at all. The only negative that I've been able to think of so far is that the shield is so big that to an outsider, the rider looks a bit like a character out of Tron. If you're cool with that look though, then absolutely go for it!
This helmet is awesome! Bought one for both me and my husband and we both love it! Pretty sure it is going to become one of our favorite helmets of all time! Great product!!!
I Love this helmet! It seriously doesn't even feel like you have a helmet on. I wanted to order one for my wife but they have been discontinued with no explanation. With all the great reviews it doesn't make sense to discontinue it!
OK for an inexpensive helmet.
Pros: its a nice looking helmet. It's modular. It's not cheaply made. The buckle system is nice. Basically flip a tab and the helmet comes off. The built in shade is nice. Its light.. very light.
Cons: theres only one big con to this helmet. It is LOUD. The way its made theres nothing whatsoever to keep wind from entering the bottom most of the way around your chin , jaws, neck so above about 40mph forget hearing anything. That wasnt really uncommon on old helmets but on put on a well designed helmet and then this one and you'll notice the difference Instantly. Overall id suggest unless you cant afford anything else dont buy this helmet but look around for something quieter.
Christmas gift. Installed on both my wife's and my helmets. We can get about 75' apart and still hear each other. Some static beyond that distance. Should be great for random rides. Look forward to road testing in the spring.
it is very rare that i will post or comment on an item. i purchased this helmet after doing a lot research. i ride with a full face helmet and also a 3/4 helmet. i ride a Yamaha 950 tourer. i have had a lot of issues with the wind noise. i purchsed an aftermarket w/s and it helped. the 3/4 helmet still had an excessive amount of noise. i purchased a hawk full face it helped but my vision was restricted-- so now this helmet-- BEST PURCHASE I EVER MADE--reduced wind noise and gave the vision i needed-- the fit was so comfortable. the helmet is big-- but is very comfortable and light- i highly recomend this helmet--
Answer: Leather can be stretched some what if it's wet. But you should seek a professional cobbler to see if they can be stretched before you try it. Quite honestly you won't have much luck with customer service I found. They're very obnoxious, unhelpful and generally not pleasant to deal with. I wish you good luck
Answer: This is why Revzilla.com, denniskirk.com, and motorcyclesuperstore.com are so popular. I called each of these companies before and spoke to an actual person who had the product in their hands while talking with me.
Answer: You unfortunately made a bad choice doing business with this company. Go check their reviews. They are the worst company I have ever dealt with. I'd be amazed if you get ANY response from them at all! Sorry to tell ya.
