I was pleasently surprised by the quality of this jacket. I was a little nervous because the price was so good! Heavy guage leather, nice zippers and vents, and I wanted a jacket with the armor in the elbows and shoulders. The arms are a little stiff, but I'm sure will "break-in". I'm glad I read the reviews, I'm 6', and 200 lbs., and ordered the XL, and it's perfect! A little extra room for another layer if it's really cold. It's a great looking jacket, for a great price!
Very pleased with this functional and sharp-looking MC jacket. It fits a little snug but will be super without the liner in summer. Armour is solid, liner is great, ventilates well, like the zipped cuffs - sleeves are long but work well on the bike with gloves. Well made.
Jacket is very heavy duty and fits well and it warm. I am 6' tall an weigh 155. I tried a large and it was too big. Exchanged for a medium and this fits well. I have long arms, but even with the medium, the arm length was plenty long enough. With the side snaps on the smallest setting it fits nice and snug, but there still room to loosen it up if I need room for a fleece in cooler weather. Only drawback is the armor for the elbows. It was so stiff that it made riding uncomfortable, and to remove them right away.
I found this jacket to be exellent in every for the price. As far as fit I always buy a large in a jacket and that is what I orderd and the fit was perfect, I could not be more happy with my purchase from Leatherup.
I'm 5' 10 '' 235, chest measures 49", so with that I ordered what was available which was a 2X. It fits with just enough room for a sweatshirt as an extra layer. The leather feels thick and the jacket is heavy overall.I would trade it for a 3X but in every style I like they are sold out. The zippers are huge. For the money it's a great jacket.
Im 6-2 , 240, I usually wear an XL but went with a 2X...fits great quality is great super deal...but I see the jacket is now discontinued...
Paid $116 for this jacket was a great deal, 5'8 195lbs XL fit great. Also bought the next level up black armor for $179 and did not need it( the Valcan).
This is as quality motorcycle jacket, though not a perfect jacket. That said, I purchased this jacket because it had a nice look and was advertised with all the safety armor I was looking for in a motorcycle jacket. Advertised as a racing jacket, it is not as form-fitting as other racing jackets I've tried. This one is a little fuller around the mid section; great for a small beer belly. Some who have reviewed this jacket found it small, I found this jacket to be a little large. I am 5'-10" , 180lbs. and normally wear a large. I probably could have gotten away with a medium as it is a bit large and the sleeves are a bit longer than on my other motorcycle jackets. It does have heavy-duty zippers on wrist, front pockets, zippered vents on chest front, middle front of arm at elbow and lower back of jacket, with a heavy duty snap on wrist. The zipper pulls on two front pockets are made from a very thin leather, which I am expecting to pull off before too long. Another reviewer said that the jacket is stiff in the elbow bend. I think that stiffness is because the zippered vents are right in the area where you bend your elbow on front of sleeve. I don't know if this will "break-in" as he suggested. The leather is heavy and textured and will do what it is supposed to do if you have a fall. The zip out quilted liner is nice when riding in cold weather. Overall, I would give this jacket four stars only because it is a bit large, and recommend this to anyone wanting a nice looking, armored jacket.
This is my third motorcycle jacket form Leatherup. I have the Xelement Classic, and a mesh summer jacket also. The XS-PR-100 is my favorite. It's has everything, the Armor, Vents, Liner. It keeps me pretty warm, but I ride in southern California where it does not get real cold.
The side pockets are a little too far back, hard to get to when you have it on. Other than that I like everything else about it. I'm considering removing the elbow armor. I will be more comfortable without them. Great price, I seen other jackets like this for more then double the price of Leatherup.
This jacket is a very good deal for what you pay. The leather is heavy and it is made well. I ordered the medium, based on another couple of reviews. Actually, I called customer service and was told I'd need a large. I am 5'10", 150, 31" waist. Standard jacket is a medium. Shirts 15 1/2 neck, 31/32 sleeve. The medium was the way to go. Not sure why you'd need to order up, as many suggest. Armor is a bit stiff, but waiting for it to soften a bit. I'm using on a dual sport, so sit pretty vertical. Haven't taken the liner out because I bought it for the spring and is perfect.
Incredible value. Fit is perfect, normally wear XL shirt/ jacket. Ordered XL and couldn't be happier with the fit. I am 46 chest, 36-38 waist, and 34-35 sleeve. Armor is positioned in the right place. Sleeves seem long until you get into riding position.
Liner is only thing that didn't exceed expectations. Loose string in left sleeve catches every time you put it on. That way out of the box, and one of the buttons/snaps that hold the liner in place broke while trying it on.
Overall very satisfied. I challenge you to find a better overall value.
Excellent jacket. Really stiff though. Cant wait until it's broken in.
absolutely awesome jacket at a great price! shipped quickly! fit perfect! well done leatherup.com! will shop here again soon!
Very Happy with this jacket. Thick leather, can't wait until it is broken in. I am 6'0", 220 lbs. I bought a large, and if fits great. I did remove the armor padding.
Great jacket, accurate fit! Only issue is that the armor, especially in elbows is to hard and stiff. Replaced with D30 and like a completely different jacket, could wear as casual wear comfortably.
I'm 6'1" and 190lb and the XL fits well, tho I'm a little long in the torso, so glad its no shorter. Leather is heavy and stiff, but good quality for the price. The best thing is it really cuts the wind, can ride in pretty cold temps.
Really like it so far. After two weeks as a daily rider it's starting to break in nicely. Elbow pads are stiff but I can live with it. Would have been happy for $200 but for the sale price it's a great buy.
I purchaced this jacket about a month ago I have used it 5 or 6 times with the liner in it is a very warm and wind proof jacket the weather was in the upper 40s low 50s it performed well, I rode today temp was in the mid 60s removed the liner and jacket was comfortable. The only down fall I have found so far is the leather is very stiff as well as the protective pads in the shoulders and elbows, which I had to remove they made the jacket uncomfortable and really limited mobility. I applied leather conditioner it did seem to loosen up the stiffness of the leather. The sizing is true if you wear a large get a large. Over all this is a great jacket for the price.
Like the way the jacket looks - but mine arrived with the arms extremely stiff. I'm hoping that they soften over time. The arms are also a little long for the torso length. I've never had a problem fitting into a jacket or suit. Smells like a cow. Really smells like a cow.
Armor is rugged and confidence inspiring. Pockets are a nice size. Jacket does a good job of shielding the wind. It is warm without being too warm. I believe it will work well in cold weather with insulating layers because of how it blocks the wind.
I haven't had it out in the rain. I would expect to wear rain gear over the jacket if I needed to stay completely dry.
Nice looking jacket.
Great Jacket even at the regular price! Excellent quality, Pads and zip out lining big plus. Fits perfect due to reading other reviews for sizing advice. Bought a small, normally would have ordered at least a medium. If all the Xelement jackets are made this well, do not hesitate to purchase one. Fast shipping, No BS, will buy here again.
Answer: Leather can be stretched some what if it's wet. But you should seek a professional cobbler to see if they can be stretched before you try it. Quite honestly you won't have much luck with customer service I found. They're very obnoxious, unhelpful and generally not pleasant to deal with. I wish you good luck
Answer: This is why Revzilla.com, denniskirk.com, and motorcyclesuperstore.com are so popular. I called each of these companies before and spoke to an actual person who had the product in their hands while talking with me.
Answer: You unfortunately made a bad choice doing business with this company. Go check their reviews. They are the worst company I have ever dealt with. I'd be amazed if you get ANY response from them at all! Sorry to tell ya.
