Pissed off customer

Never showed up was suppose to be here at 10:30am it is now 1:07pm this is unacceptable now you wana charge me a $15 $#*!ing fee smdh I will never do service with this company again & I'll be sure to let me friends & neighbors know

I signed-up for a mowing service with Lawnstarter.com and it was a nightmare from the very beginning.
For the first job, they charged my credit card twice... one for $29 (w/ one time $15 discount from their normal price) and another for ~$72 ($39 + $39 (long grass charge) - one-time $15 discount) without any notice before or after the job was complete.
After several emails with multiple service reps (having to explain the situation from the beginning every time), they decide to refund me $29.
Needless to say, I'm pretty pissed off! I suspend my service, thinking that I would no longer be on the schedule, which would effectively cancel my subscription, but to my surprise lawnstarter has another hidden trick up their sleeve... suspending my service only stops it for only the next scheduled service. To my surprise, they have cut my grass again and charged me ~$80 again with no details on my billing details on what the charges are for... there is no f'kn way they can claim 'long grass' charge again, cause I cut my own grass less than two weeks ago.
I am now livid with this stupid-$#*! company. This time, I find a hidden in plain site link to cancel my subscription, but guess what?!... Lawnstarter has another trick up their sleeve. I go through the process of cancelling my service subscription and find out that my subscription will be cancelled after my third service, which means they might charge me $80 again!

This service is horrible! They charged me $115 to just mow my lawn with no edging or weeding. I explained the size of my property and they send one person to do the job which was not done correctly at all.

They don't show up on the days you have scheduled and then say they didn't know. Contact support and they reply fast but don't do anything to help. Got my service rescheduled, it was marked completed by the crew but they never showed up. I contacted support again, they were confused and had to raise the issue to a manager. The manager never got back to me. They claimed I didn't have a service appointment anymore, right, because it got marked completed by the crew. I have the email confirmation for the appointment. All around bad service, my lawn was not serviced, missed, cancelled for over two months.

Dishonest Contractors

You basicly have to watch them the entire time they are outside to make sure they don't damage anything or try to leave with the job incomplete. This is my experience with multiple companies they sent out. First ones did not do any edging at all. They had to come back out. The grass was hanging over the edge of the concrete. The edging facing the street was not done at all. I've had to wait days on multiple occasions for companies to come back and finish work. I've had then say they were coming out a certain day, did a no call no show, then contact me 2 days later. One company cut all my flowers in a small flower bed on the side of the house. One company that came back out to finish what they didn't do, LIED and said my grass was very tall and charged me extra. My lawn has HORRIBLE soil. I lived here 10 years and I am very familiar with how it grows. For my grass to be over grown, it would have to rain heavy for multiple days in a week then wait another week and a half to two weeks for it to be over grown. I had no one else to cut my lawn, so I had no choice but to use them until the Fall. Best believe I took pictures of my lawn every time before they came out incase they lied or caused any damage which is what I SHOULD NOT have to do.

My Daughter has had a very very bad experience with this company. They came out Thursday 1-9 the guy unloaded his lawnmower stood by his truck 10 mins on the security footage then loaded it back up and left sent a completion text and he did nothing. She contacted them and said that they would send someone Sunday 1-12 no one came, then I contacted them they said Monday no show however of course she received a completion text and no one came. Its all on her security system. So they took money out of the account with no services that were preformed and wont refund. She sent the proof on security footage of course that is not good enough. Buyer beware of this company the integrity of the company is not worth anything DONT USE THEM they are scammers

Extremely disappointed with this service. I am in the process of selling my home and elected to use this service while I was on a deployment with the military. Upon returning from my deployment I kept using the service since all my belongings were locked away in storage(Lawn Mower, Edger). Fast forward to a few weeks ago my home is under contract and the inspector goes out back and highlights all of the siding damage to the home. I submit a claim with LawnStarter and they tell me since it has been more than 5 days since my last service by them they can't be held liable. Are you freaking kidding me?! They did over 400$ in siding damage and they said unless I have proof they did it they aren't going to reimburse me. I am beyond mad and disappointed with how people are treated in this country. Whatever happened to doing your job correctly?

Terrible and dishonest company. My St Augustine grass almost died. They cut it 2 times so low you could see the soil. First time was a mistake I told then not to cut it that low. It needed to be at least 4 inches high. Can second time cut it to the soil. I canx the next two service. They came out it was still so low no service was required. I checked my account a few days later and saw that they billed me. When I called about it they said they have a 5 day despite period since it was over 5 days there is nothing they can do about it. Horrible company.

I just want to say wow. Like my yard was such a mess. I have had 8 lawn care pros or they say there a pro. Well let me inform Dallas texas. These pros were nothing like JT this guy is the real deal. He takes so much pride in his work it is unbelivable not onley dose he take so much pride in his work. For and instance after meting him about all i wanted done he went beyond matters to make sure i was haappy. I don, t have to do anything at all. He gives me a peace at mind. My yard is treated with Tlc. Thanks J, T your lawn service is amazing

A Total Ripoff

They never show up in their appointment in three occasions until I canceled my commitment with the company with proper notice. I got charged for the service that was never delivered and was refused a refund for not disputing the charges within first 5 days of cancellation.

We used them twice. Just to be clear this company works with different contractors so you get different people all the time. The 1st guy came out and did a great job I was impressed and booked the 2nd service. My husband and his brother was in the process of putting up a brand new swing set to surprise the kids. After the people came the next day or so they went outside to begin putting it back together when they noticed a significant amount of damage. Some of it was done with a mower and a lot of it was done with a weed whacker. Is supporting pieces were severely damaged. The swing set was over $1600 didn't even have a mark on it prior to the service. Not only was the swing set badly damaged but we have a 50 year old a agave plant on the property. You can clearly see the Mark's of a weed wacker and they took the weed wacker to that too. Not only did they mark up the outer leafs but they literally took it to the inside of the plant, keep in mind these plants when they get to be that age are about 3' to 5'. Its clear that the damage was done purposely and it was then a form of vandalism verses carelessnesse. Taking a weed whacker to the inside of an agave plant of that size is no accident. My husband is a disabled vet. We dont have a lawn mower or weed wacker since it's too hard for him to handle. We have 2 security gates for anyone including ourselves to get through to the property and this company keeps fighting me telling me there's no proof. They literally are saying unless there's a camera on my agave plant they are not responsible. Besides what looks like vandalism the 2nd most concerning issue was the lack of accountability. Obviously some bad stuff happened with their team and you would think the company would try to make it right in the most fair way. Instead I've been getting emails of them fighting me saying I can go out and find a contractor to repair the beams that were damaged and they can just reimburse that... I'll be honest with you it's really concerning. This company should be reported to the better business bureau.

They never show up when they are supposed to but they are certainly happy to charge you for it. Then when you cancel your service they'll charge you again because you didn't cancel fast enough. I'll stick with getting my lawn mowed by Jorge. He can't speak English but at least he shows up on time, not to mention he charges less.

Everything you are reading here is true. I have recently used LawnStarter myself and it started out OK, but I did notice they were cutting the grass far too short. Then, they replaced my crew with someone who just kept rescheduling and even said that they mowed my lawn when they didn't even touch it! I asked for a refund and delayed my service and all they did was add a balance to my account (not refund my card) and still charged me for another service that was never completed! This company comes as close to fraud as you can imagine...

Totally unreliable

These guys scheduled and then canceled on me twice. The last time they showed up I told them no one would be there. They rang the door bell and left. I need someone reliable. These guys are definitely not!
Last msg was "go ahead leave a bad review it won't keep me from working" Way to run a business.

Incompetent and Idiotic

The lawn guy postponed scheduled date to mow lawn 3x. Stated was going on vacation and when he returned he would complete the job on a specific date. He never showed. Called Lawn Starter and was told they could not locate anyone in my area? Thanks for the notice 1 month later. Avoid this "Company" at all costs. Can you give Zero stars?

Lawn mower man came out and measured my grass and did not give me a bill or statement saying that I was being charged for long grass. I do not have a picture, didn't know I would need it. I am not saying that my grass wasn't long, I was not told verbal or paper bill that I was getting an extra $41 added to my bill and taken from my account. My agreement was for mowing only any over the mowing fee should have been reported in a bill.

As low as $25 for a professional level mow and trim for your yard in the Greensboro, NC area. This company has clearly done a bad job with customer service and seemingly ditched their business model at this point. Working for Lawnstarter was worst thing I ever done. They gave so so many bad reviews but believe me it's not due to the mowers it's the people in the office. They don't answer emails for 2 to 3 days and that's why rescheduling takes place. It's like having someone do brain surgery when they never done it. Same here. Guarantee those people in office don't even know how to crank a mower. They can't done one small yard and it paid 36 then went to next one and it was at least a acre. Took me 3.5 hours and it pain 19. Mowers get frustrated and call in or email and u never here nothing. Bad bad bad company. Great ideal but as usual issues are from within

HORRIBLE!

I asked for a quote for additional work to clear some bushed and trees - the day they started I received a message that the crew underbid the job and it would be $250.00 more - called the corporate office - was told they would still have to complete the work - got another message from the crew that it did not include hauling away everything that was cut down that it would be additional charge - another call to corporate office - meanwhile crew showed up once more then went missing - multiple calls and emails including to supervisor and was told they would send ANOTHER crew to complete - it's now a month later - there's a big pile of branches still sitting in my yard - the work is not complete and all they offered was a partial refund and a credit to finally get things hauled off - oh and btw - in order to do that I still have to have service for that to happen! STAY FAR AWAY from this company - I will be posting my experience everywhere I can and am thinking of filing a complaint with the BBB - AFTER my refund of course!
