LawDepot Reviews Summary

The company enjoys a strong reputation for its user-friendly website and comprehensive document offerings, which customers find easy to navigate and understand. Many reviews highlight the affordability and efficiency of the services, with a particular emphasis on the thoroughness of the forms provided. However, some customers expressed frustration with payment processing issues, particularly the lack of support for certain credit cards, which led to additional calls for assistance. Overall, while the customer service is generally praised for its friendliness and helpfulness, addressing payment concerns could enhance the customer experience further.

Resetting my password
April 12, 2018

Linda was extremely unhelpful when I called to get a link to reset my password. My account was never completed and I did not have a password. When I went on the Law Depot website to reset my password I never received the email to reset, after 6 attempts. Therefore I called to resolve the issue. She could not help me and suggested several times I just cancel my account - so I did. All I wanted was a new password!

Two lawyers reviewed my Ontario landlord tenant lease that I downloaded from Law Depot and told me that many the terms were not legal or enforceable. I did not realize this when I downloaded them from Law Depot in good faith. Long story short, this caused me legal proceedings that cost me $6300 in legal fees. BEWARE!

Great service
April 7, 2018

I had to call to get what I filled out on 4-4-2018 6:58 AM.
The lady I talked to about how I get document, knowledgable, precise and handled the form I needed, she explained that I could go to my account first and by putting in number given on document and it would be there, but after finding out verification on me said she would e mail within minutes I received the document.

Same as everyone else who got sucked in... such a shame companies like this exist and thrive while crushing people along the way.

This is one of those websites that scams you with their "free trial" and then gets you on their monthly subscription plan WITH NO SIGN OF IT. Only a sign-up confirmation email. They will send you some template over and over telling you it was stated in the agreement and that it's your fault because you should have checked your statement, but there's something funny about this company. I've never experienced that before. They have a 118 day return policy to save them from returning all your money when you realize that $33 is being taken from your account every month. I lost $429 to this company and they did absolutely nothing for me. I printed a free document with my trial on the first day, never logged in since and they still hit me with that sorry response. They were only willing to give me 4 out of 13 months worth of my money back. I hate companies that thrive on this sort of business model. Shady written all over it. They offer no solutions other than their templated response. Awful "customer service."

No intelligent solution
March 21, 2018

I have never accessed this site since the day started a free trial. They said it was impossible to utilize the hundreds of dollars I have already paid (I suggested they suspend the payments and give me some time to try out their service). They processed refunds of 4 months only and automatically closed my account.

Hello David,

Our records indicate that you signed up for our service to create a document and never cancelled the account as per the terms of use that you had agreed to.

The document that was created does contain your name. You were sent an email to your email address the date the account was created which stated the date and time that the account needed to be cancelled by. We also followed that up with an email letting you know that you were now paying for an account with us after the trial subscription was finished.

The charges with our phone number next to them also appeared on all your monthly statements and we would have been happy to cancel your account at anytime. We have now cancelled your account and refunded the last 4 charges up to 118 days old.

Regards,

Cynthia Sawka

NOT FREE
March 18, 2018

Their site says free but after filling the form out they want you to pay. When something says free a payment should not be required. Scam, gets you in then wants money. False advertising?

LAWDEPOT CONTACT
March 18, 2018

Monique Hall's assistance was excellent plus!
She spent quite a while patiently and sympathetically helping me to get exactly what I wanted and needed especially since I am old, dying and not entirely able to manage on my own.
Many thanks!

Very little help.
March 7, 2018

She kept describing things supposed to be on my screen which were not on my screen because I had clicked on Print as she had told me to do in order to print it, which I would have done anyway, and it printed from my Word Perfect. She directed me back to the LawDepot site and I double-clicked (about 2 dozen times) to bring up the document, but it never did. So I would be unable to revise it if I so wished. She implied that I did not know how to use my computer or my email. I assured her that I did indeed know how to use my computer and my email, that I had been a litigation paralegal for all my working life until retiring after a bad fall a few years ago. The only reason I gave her even one star was because I couldn't get the review to register without clicking on the stars. The only advantage she offered was being so condescending that it made me want to cancel immediately, which I am very glad I did.

Just a sincere thank-you to Jean, a staff member at Law Depot.com. She quickly rectified an issue I was having. So rare to find the can do attitudes that the law depot staff typically have. I was once again impressed with Jean's ability to go above and beyond the call of duty. Law Depot Rocks!

Beware. You will be auto renewed and once they renew, they will not pro-rate a return of your renewal. Be sure to cancel before the next renewal if not interested in further access to their service. On top of that, customer service is EXTREMELY rude.
