Online scheduling
July 5, 2022

I scheduled a pre employment drug screen at Crystal Rock Germantown location today at 11:30am and when I checked in I was told that the only person that does drug testing went on her lunch break and she won't be back for another 1/2 hour. When I expressed my frustration since my appt was specifically for a drug test, the front desk told me that there is no coordination between the online patient scheduling and their staff schedule. It makes no sense to have the ability to make an appt if when you get there is no qualify staff to do the service.

If you are one of the elderly, tecnologically challenged individuals still alive today, do not go to Labcorp for your needs. You are now REQUIRED to check in at the "kiosk". Although they have what appears to be a "Check-in Window" you will stand there with the employees backs to you until they reluctantly decide to acknowledge your presence and point you to the kiosk. They seem to hire the most surly, unhelpful, uncaring people they can find. Avoid this place like the plague if you can.

Billing
July 5, 2022

I was informed at check-in that Medicare would not cover 2 of the ordered blood tests and as a result I had to sign to indicate I was responsible for the bill. I immediately declined having the test, stating I have been unemployed for over 1.5 years and could not afford $300. Plus dollars for 2 lab tests. The employee replied... Oh don't worry, if insurance declines "WE" will call your doctor and get another diagnosis and resubmit the claim.
Not only did LabCorp not call my doctor for another diagnosis, I learned I had to do so. Unfortunately, my doctor can only provide the diagnosis in my medical chart which is not covered by insurance. I was led to believe by their employee that the test would be covered by the women who registered me. With each bill I send a letter back explaining this, that I declined the 2 tests as I cannot afford to pay and the employee telling me not to worry... BUT LabCorp is now sending me to collections... I even stated I would pay what insurance approves but not $352 for tests I did not want.
Very sad what is happening to seniors on a limited income... trusted their / LabCorp employee and now being sent to collections.

Rude Employees
June 24, 2022

I went to the LabCorp located in Huntington, NY. Terri was the employee working and she was extremely rude to not only myself but other patients as well. As someone who works in the medical field, her actions were completely unacceptable and unethical. This is the first and last time I will be using LabCorp to get my tests done.

Made an online appointment and checked in. After a half hour of searching they said they couldn't find the order so I had to call my doctor's office to have it faxed. Another patient told me the same thing had happened with him and his wife. I have very small veins and need to have blood drawn from my hand. I was told they didn't have a small needle. He couldn't get much blood out of my right hand so he tried the left. After ruining that vein and getting only half a tube he called in someone else. I said I was done and left. Never before had any lab that couldn't get enough blood for testing. Horrible experience

This company has very concerning billing practices. Had I not caught their mistake, they would have overcharged me an extra $100. The customer service rep was kind, and mentioned it was a clerical error. But I find that very hard to believe. DO NOT PAY THE INITIAL INVOICE. Double check and don't let them overcharge you.

Memorial Medical Care referred me to these people
I left a message to check my authorization, but they never called back. They are impossible to contact over the phone. Im going to ask my Dr. if she can refer me elsewhere. If customer service is this bad, I imagine their labs services are bad too.

WENT IN ON MAY 18TH FOR A PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG SCREENING. THIS IS 3 WEEKS TO THE DAY CALLED THEY SAID STILL IN TESTING AFTER BEING RECEIVED IN THE TESTING LAB ON MAY 19. I WILL NOT GET HIRED WITHOUT THAT. THAT IS MESSING WITH A JOB THAT I WILL LIKE AND conveniently CLOSE TO MY HOME. HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR URINE TO BE CONTAMINATED OR NO LONGER GOOD FOR TESTING. LABCORP I AM THINKING OF A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT AND I WILL BE CALLING AN ATTORNEY TODAY.

I gave them my insurance information when I went for my draw and everything seemed fine but I got a letter five months later telling me I had to pay an outstanding charge because the insurance company claimed I had other primary insurance. I do not, so I had to resubmit my insurance information along with a literal scan of my card, to attempt to correct the error that LabCorp themselves made inputting my insurance information. Another month later, I get a full fledged bill telling me again the claim was denied because I have other insurance coverage. Guess what I saw on the bill? The same incorrect information that LabCorp themselves put in, and not the information that I gave them and what's on my actual card. Seriously? I have one form of insurance, LabCorp keeps messing up the name of it and leaving me with a bill over their stupid mistakes.

On a positive note, the actual lab draw itself was fine. Just like any other lab so no complaints there.

PCR Results in time.
May 23, 2022

I went to a Patient First in Catonsville which I assumed Liaison with LabCorp. I got a PCR to fly on Saturday around 9:15 Am. I was scheduled to travel Monday morning at 10:45 am for Ethiopia. I was so worried since I usually do PM Pediatrics and if I go in the morning the PCR results will be there in the evening around 7 pm. My results came 4AM Monday morning. I'm happy and on my way. I would've been really sad if I didn't get it because for International travel you have to be within 72 hours. I would've been pushing it if I did it on Friday. Sometimes you have a layover in Europe and could be over the 72 hour limit so we must get it at the 48 hour mark. I hope this helps. We run a travel company and we've had cases where people get their flights 72 hours and get stranded. I did send an email to Labcorp in hopes that they could get me settled by this morning. I hoped that helped them expedite my results. The Doctor there coincidentally was from Ethiopia himself.

My recent experience with LabCorp was worse than "HORRIBLE" and I was am not surprised to discover others had given them an overall shinning 1.4 rating!

The local office never answers the phone, never returns a call, gives you inadequate information on who to contact for test results, and it took three faxes from my doctor before they finally acknowledged they had my test request.

The most frustrating experience I have had in a long time and the Corporate Office must not be paying attention and or managing the improvements needed. Until improvements are made I would recommend using any other available service.

Took my son yesterday; he has two halos on his leg and even walking with crutches is hard and painful. The beginning of the visit was standard; nothing wrong just routine until Stephanie came to the front…extremely caring and kind; she made sure we knew about the room with the loungers so he could get his foot up while his blood was drawn…excellent experience! Labcorp experience
April 27, 2022

Rude; unprofessional and the two phlebotomists they have to draw your blood have no idea what they're doing. I will never go back. Front desk receptionist is the only constant there and she is very professional; sad she has to work with such bad coworkers.
NEVER AGAIN!

Venipunture injury
April 25, 2022

On Friday 4/15/2022, I went to get blood drawn because my specialist insisted he has an acct. With LabCorp so I went. I asked the tech since she couldn't find a vein in my left arm, not to fish. She said I don't fish, I find the vein. Well it so happens, she still couldn't find my vein, she kept trying until she found one, however to my misfortune, not only did she puncture the main artery but also the nerve, which sent an electrical shock down to my wrist causing me to lose all feeling on my right hand and fingers. I immediately went to see my PCPhysician, she sent me to Simon Med to get an ultrasound to rule out any blood clots. So, I wind up in the ER of Poinciana, the pain became so acute, I could not lift my right arm at all. The electrical current I kept feeling, and throbbing pain became so severe it was radiating up to the side of my neck, to my chest and back. I was crying like a baby by this time. I cannot get ahold of anyone at LabCorp. No one answers! Still today, I continue suffering with pain and have to be referred to a Neurologist for nerve assessment and treatment until I heal. I am not working and have now to accrue so many medical bills without it being my fault. Never will I step foot at a LabCorp facility again.
