Terrible Service
February 1, 2021

Over the past week now I have tried to return an item for a full refund, as it does not work as described.

I have written to them multiple times with the exact reasons as to why I wish to return this device. All Kogan do is ask the same questions over and over again. Their model
Is obviously to tire the consumer out until they give up. Will not buy from again.

My gripe here is that despite them saying they send the item within 1-2 business days, 8 days after giving them $1127 of my hard earned, they still have not despatched my TV. When I contact the Kogan "help" desk there is no help at all. What you actually receive are auto generated statements of apology, concern, statements about how they worry about this and how most other customers dont receive the same experience. All this does is antagonise! Does it solve my issue to know how sorry you are? NO! Does it help me to know how serious you take such problems? NO! Does it help me, that you thank me for my patience? NO! Where is the action? Where is the outcome? Where is the real action to find my item, get it to me ASAP and then compensate me for the endless drivel which I am being peddled. You would do a whole lot better to understand what customer service is, spend some time listening to what the issue is and then actually working to solve it. Dont waste your time patronising already frustrated customers. I despise being treated like an idiot, which is exactly what is happening here. I would upload a photo of my item and issue, only it hasn't been delivered/ I dont have it. I have several emails of apology, though...

Deceptive Kogan
January 27, 2021

If there was a 0 star rating I'd pick that. Conned into a membership scheme by deliberate ambiguity in the checkout process. They must be laughing all the way to the bank, as they deduct monthly when people unwittingly join. Already my only purchase has cost another $72 over 6 months. Very difficult to speak to a person, but when I missed a return call someone emailed me stressing that their shonky process is all legit and therefore I won't be refunded. She directed me to the page where I can cancel the auto deduction in the future - but no option for that exists!(surprise, surprise). The matter, however, will be taken further (ACCC) and my bank is also looking into it. I'd never purchase anything from Kogan again, so their refusal to refund is false economy and bad business - not to mention word-of-mouth and the web. They had the opportunity to refund in good faith but didn't take it.

Customer service is crap
January 27, 2021

I purchased two items for my fathers birthday. A watch and a camera. Instead I get glasses and a wallet.

It has been the most unprofessional dealings ive ever had with a company.

Here is a tip. Buy elsewhere. Kogan are a joke.

Purchased a vaccum on kogan in Dec 20 as a pre order. Stated will ship out no later than 3/1/21. No one notify me that item will be delay until I sent them email. Customer care replied my email that the vaccum will ship out on 13/1/21. Sent a email to them on 15/1/21 and told me delayed to April. If there is delayed, why not telling customer by email at least and I have to found out by myself? And they refused to refund 10dollars kogan first as I only used that once for the vaccum? It's ridiculous and unacceptable. Never buy anything from kogan

Since some days I try to purchase a TV set from Kogan. I can pay the item via my NAB VISA Debit Card but this time I had in mind to take advantage of the part-payments without any interest. I tried this during check-out, but there was no facility to do so. Therefore, I contacted Kogan Customer Service and found out that there is no phone facility to contact the company other than via the online form to be filled in and send. Short later, I got an answer that the customer service is just too busy to answer my question and it would take up to one or two business days to answer. I got an answer and it was the same nonsense and no answer to my question at all. Instead of writing useless long email messages that Kogan is too busy to answer my question at the same time, an answer to my question could have been written. It looks like Kogan does not want to sell items to me. In future, I will refrain from ordering goods from the Kogan's website. Also, there is no telephone number to contact customer service. It looks, customer contacts are one-sided and customers cannot contact Kogan service centre by phone.

Kogan's business attitude is bad and reflects the kind other companies such as Telstra, Belong, and others lately treat their customers. It is time that the relevant media and other publications get aware of this.

I had a bad experience from the beginning. I got a modem a week late. The modem didnt work well so they sent me another one, which didn't make a difference. It is a low-spec modem which is why it is cheap. Even after the second modem, I was getting <1 MBPS on 2.4GHZ and usually <10MBPS but never ever >30 MBPS on 5 GHz. I subscribed for the 100 plan and the speeds were appallingly low. I spent ~10 hours with customer service trying to fix it and eventually quit and get my refund. They have been lying to me most of the time. They told me I won't be charged for the atrocious service but they charged me 150.
Then they told me they would refund the entire amount, as they should because of their garbage product and service, but ended up refunding a third. After a rigorous conversation with customer service, I still ended up paying that amount and never got my money back. Please please don't get Kogan NBN/internet. It'll cost you more time and money than not spending anything at all. I would rate 0 if I could, but alas.

So this mob Kogan are renowned for selling cheap electrical goods but what I also wish I'd known Before wasting my money with them is they're also renowned for poor quality products and appalling after sales service, enough that the ACCC, consumer affairs orgs and Choice have all given them poor ratings. Do a search online and you will see. Hopefully BEFORE you buy to avoid my mistake!
I have bought a television and a laptop from them and while the television technically still works I've never been happy with the sound quality (no Kogan, you shouldn't need anything more than what comes out of the box to hear what people are saying on the telly! You shouldn't have to purchase further audio gear to make a TV functional! Do you use mobile phone parts in your televisions or something?!)
Now I was not so lucky with a laptop I'd had for less than 12 months when it's keyboard failed. I've spent weeks trying to have the product retuned for a refund (which a consumer is entitled to under the Australian consumer law when goods are not fit for purpose) and they just keep giving me the run around, "take photos", "send us a video of the problem", "it appears to be faulty", "no we won't offer you a refund we need to do an assessment" (whatever that means but given their track record I can only assume that means further back and forth this time in the mail!) and I predict a "we can't find a fault" outcome anyway, they've proven to me that's their style.
DO NOT BUY KOGAN BRANDED PRODUCTS. I cannot stress this enough. They do not offer value for money, even at their prices.
Not only are they flimsy, plastic cased, and poorly manufactured, you have next to no chance of getting a refund when your product fails in an unreasonable timeframe.
Buy from other places online or retailers who show moral backbones, please do not support this quickly growing empire that has profited ($50M last year alone! Look at their annual report!) off suckers like me.

I started using Kogan for little things, then slowly upgraded over a couples of months until I was buying TV's, kitchen appliances, air-cons and big ticket items like that. Even signed up for their internet. Joined the "premium service" Kogan First. Everything seemed great. Then I had an issue. Actually, they had the issue, but I had to chase them up for the things I had paid for that hadn't arrived (turns out they hadn't sent them). They assured me it was a one-off and did nothing to rectify it or make any retribution. Then it happened again about a week later. I had to chase them up, repeatedly, to get the items I had paid for 3 weeks earlier but they hadn't sent. They told me again it was a one-off and wouldn't happen again. Repeat. So I asked them to cancel my Kogan "First" account because of the fact items were going missing (never left their warehouse as it turned out until I started emailing them chasing them, waiting over 3 weeks for stuff to arrive that was meant to be 3 business days), and they started quoting terms and conditions. Over an $11.99 monthly fee. They would rather lose a customer that has spent $$$ thousands over the past 3 months than refund an $11.99 fee! I highly recommend you also consider what you think will happen when you have a warranty claim, given they won't even honour an $11.99 monthly "premium" service guarantee that I am paying for and they can't even track the products they are selling before they've left their warehouse! I wish I had bought elsewhere. Out of principle. It might be cheap but I now have no faith in Kogan's integrity as a business. This is simply a case of them not acting honourably, and this is when the fault lies with them and I am paying for premium service. I hope I don't have to deal with them for warranty, I think it would be a nightmare based on my recent experiences.

You can't call Kogan they only have a recording. They have an old un accessible email address of mine for my account. Each time i send a customer service request it tells me to check my un accessible email address. It wont even allow me to change it to a current email address.

Scammer. Buying cheap product from China and selling here with or without seal. Also don't take any responsibility of delivering the damaged product even after having freight protection.

I've written a email to asking about the membership fees that charge me without notice and there is no cues to tell after the trail they will deduct it automatically in your bank account! And, my order have been processed for a month to send it out! I'm really really not recommended to use this apps and company to buy anything. It is a bad experience of the online shopping ever!

Dodgy memberships

Got caught by one of their "free" membership offers. Debited $15 every month without any merit. Product description says you can apply your membership for free shipping but then you get charged anyway. Dodgy as scam.

Never buy from Kogan!
December 17, 2020

Never buy an appliance from Kogan!
Never buy an appliance from Kogan! Buy one from market place or gum tree instead. If you have an issue they will not refund you. So many people with same issues and selling them for much cheaper on social media that you will be stuck with something you cannot use or sell on! Worst customer service ever and no phone number to call only email responses days later. Save your money! Help desk is a complete waste of time and they refuse to give you a refund.

Had the worst, most unprofessional online buying experience with Kogan.com!
I order a product sold by them during a sale period and after three weeks of making the payment I was surprised that they cancelled the order because they had "overwhelming demand"!
Surprisingly, that overwhelming demand didn't prevent them from continue selling the same item for a higher price on the website!
So not only they held my money for 3 weeks, but they also made me miss other good opportunities that were offered during the time of the sale! And they are making false claims of high demand to sell products for higher price!
How is this but a scam!

Pony Express
December 14, 2020

The product was one use face masks at a very good price compared to other similar products, I needed them quickly as I had nearly run out, so I paid for Express Post rather than normal basic postage, as it stated they would arrive within 48 hours after being picked. Trouble is, it took a week for Kogan to pick the order, 2 boxes of masks, really! I did put a complaint in and they did get back to me, 5 days later on the day the masks arrived, to tell me my order was delivered, really I didn't know this! They never addressed the issue, so dismissed my complaint. Kogan is cheap but so is their service. So would I ever use them again? No way!
