I ordered a rental book called Constitutional Law and Criminal Justice System. What I received was a Xerox copy, 3-hole punched, unbound, with the Cengage Learning logo on the bottom of the first page. They started the email string by saying that I received what I ordered, however I could return it and they would refund my money. I have contacted Cengage yet to see if what they sent me was a pirated copy or not. Sending a xerox copy when I ordered a book seems sketchy in the first place. When I emailed them that what I wanted was what I ordered, a book, they told me they didn't have any of the books I needed and I could send them back their copy. I guess they wanted to re-rent the xerox copy to someone else. At any rate, the burden is on me to find another book, order it, then return the rented xerox to Knetbooks. I'm sorry, I don't find that solution helpful and I wonder about the ethics of a company that sends xeroxed copies out without telling the buyer what they are getting.
If could give less then one start I would, they don't let you canceled the items even if it have not shipped yet, your shipping fee, forget about them
I purchased a book with expedited shipping to ensure my book would arrive on time. However, on the last day the book should have been delivered at my home I received an email saying there was a delay. My order wasn't even at the warehouse therefore wouldn't be shipped until unknown notice. When contacting them for an estimated time of arrival the response was my order was canceled. I was left having to find alternative places to purchase my book with very few time left before class. Please do not order! The service was dreadful.
Please never rent from these scummy people. They have terrible returning prices. I wish I knew that beforehand.
I dropped the textbook off on the due date and they charged me $86 for the textbook although I returned it before the deadline! I called customer service and they said that there is nothing they can do and I may not be able to get my money back! Very dissatisfied!
I paid extra money for it to be shipped to me early and it arrived a week after it was supposed to. Sent an email about it, but did not receive even an email back. Do yourself a favor and buy from Chegg.
Despite not using the provided tracking slip, I sent my book back a week in advance. I was still charged a late.
I called and was told that they could not locate the book. Told me I had to find a tracking number. So after hunting that down, I was told that this information had to go to the guy who "handles this type of situation".
After another couple days of nothing I called back and spoke with a girl named Kiana who informed me that the book was late and that I would not receive a full refund.
I told her that this was impossible as I had sent the book out a week in advance and was told it would get there by the due date.
She then stated, "alright. But it will be 3 to 7 business days."
Your customer service is terrible and thank you for depriving me of $53 that I could have used for Christmas.
I may not have used the label but I had the book back, in good shape, on time.
But you are taking your time giving me back my money. Gee, thanks a lot. Us college students must make enough and can do without I suppose. Merry Christmas.
I returned the rental books but they still charged me the non-return fee, $155. Rent your books somewhere else.
I never received my book. I emailed them about it and they basically said "well our records show it was delivered, so it's on you". They then repeatedly emailed me about when I needed to return my book, even though I never received it. They said that they I would have to buy the book if I did not want to receive late charges. Customer service was rude, and this company is a scam.
ZERO STARS. After not receiving my book even though it was in my town for 5 days, I went to the post office. To find out, my book was lost! Even though their website stated it was in my town. Mind you, I needed this book for school 2 weeks ago. I emailed customer service and was told it was a 4-8 business shipping time and that they still had time to get it to me. Not sure how that is possible when it's lost?! I asked for a refund and they stated I have to wait the 4-8 business days. I already re ordered my book with a new, and better, company. Their customer service people do not give a $#*! about their customers. I'm beyond pissed that I asked for a refund and was told to wait out the shipping deadline. Absolutely not, they already LOST my book, how the hell is it going to show up when it can't even be tracked? Incredibly unprofessional and I hope their company understand that, as a college student, I will be informing my fellow classmates not to purchase from here as well as the following I have on all social media. You are a terrible company.
I ordered a rental book as it was the best price by far anywhere I could find. I paid the extra 5 dollars to get the better shipping, but after a week it hadn't arrived so I emailed the company to ask why my order hadn't been shipped yet. They said it wasn't even in stock, despite their wedsite not saying it was out of stock and allowing me to pay for faster shipping when they didn't even have it in stock. Once it shipped I waited and it hadn't come in even though the advertised shipping said it would, so I inquired again and was told it was being delivered that day. 4 days after that I finally got my book and... it is a loose leaf book, not the paperback as advertised. I am now in the process of trying to return the book, and they won't be giving me as full refund as they are charging an 11 dollar restocking fee and are not giving back the money I spent to get the "faster" shipping on an out of stock product that still took over a week to arrive once shipped. I will not be ordering from them again.
How does a site have the audacity to not have books in their warehouse but yet still put them on site for sale? I needed a textbook for rental and it was taking very long but I eventually got an email stating that: "Due to a change in availability from our supplier, the following items have yet to arrive in our warehouse [my textbook]."
Plus I literally have readings to do that I have missed.
I have used Knet, from time to time here and there during undergrad, they aren't the most reliable but they definitely are the cheapest so why not. Im in law school now and I had ordered my book a week in advance to get my books in a timely manner. However that whole week one of the book stated " order processing" and the other said " order in". The are not available weekends so I grew concerned that these book wouldn't make in time for class when I had called Monday, they said that they didn't have the book in the warehouse, and they source they tried to buy it from wouldn't allow them, ( so basically they offered a book they didn't know they had) and that the other one ALTHOUGH I HAD PAYED FOR 1-4 DAY SHIPPING had not been sent out in that week spand because it takes them 3-5 DAYS to get it out the warehouse which doesn't have any relevance to the cost of shipping you pay. The MANAGER DAN was AWFUL he was rude, short sighted and when I demanded that I be given my money back he scoffed and said "yeah you'll get it back it 3-5 days okay have a great day " Super unprofessional. Im never one to write reviews but honestly id just pay the extra cash off any other renter sight because cheap isn't always the right move and I think knetbooks is a prime example of that. Don't Do It! Unless the availability says ships In 24 hrs.
Charged me for a damaged book. Said 1/3 of book had water damaged and couldn't be used. Sent me pics of a slightly wrinkled back cover- which is how they sent it to me. Charged me almost $200 without even contacting me first. Customer service just says they have to take warehouses word for it and can't help. Scam artist is all they are! Please don't rent from this company. The picture they sent as proof of damage is exactly how I was sent. Look closely guys- this is $200 worth of damage according to Kent books.
I have by far THE WORST experience with them, my book order got cancelled because my shipping address and billing address are different. Naturally I understand that it can be a security worry for them, but AS SOON as I received notice that they cancelled I called them to understand why. They explained and I confirmed that I do have different addresses and this was not a mistake. They then said they are completely sold out of the book. This is INSANELY unfair and actually wrong. Now I will have to spend much more on my book because it is way closer to when I actually need it. I am extremely disappointed and will not be doing business with them unless they prove that they can improve their systems because this is absurd
Once you order book it is your responsibility for the book even thou you never received it because they sent it to the wrong address, STATE! They will charge you the full amount no matter what.
SAVE YOUR MONEY AND RENT/BUY FROM ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE! THEY ARE SCAM ARTISTS! THEY WILL RENT YOU A NEW BOOK AND WHEN YOU RETURN IT THEY WILL CLAIM THAT IT IS DAMAGED AND AUTOMATICALLY CHARGE YOUR BANK ACCOUNT FOR THE FULL PRICE! YOU CAN CALL AND SPEAK TO SOMEONE AND REQUEST TO HAVE A MANAGER CALL YOU BACK BECAUSE THE REPS THAT ANSWER CUSTOMER SERVICE CANNOT REFUND ANY MONEY AND THEN THEY WON'T CALL YOU AND JUST KEEP YOUR MONEY!
I ordered a book online to borrow. I asked them to send me a mail-back envelope, which they, after 8 times of asking for it, they could never understand. I've been waiting for the envelope, but today, I find they've taken $31.99 more out of my checking account WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. This is theft. I have reported it to my bank as a fraudulent charge.
I ordered my book on June 14 and received it June 29. I needed it by June 25 before I left for a month on the road. I did not receive it as promised. Their excuse was that USPS has been slow lately. If they knew this, why not use another carrier? Now they tell me if I do not return it before I get home, I cannot get a refund. They actually told me to have a neighbor do it for me. WHAT? Inconvenience a neighbor for their error? For the trouble they have caused, they should honor the return after I get home. I have recently ordered from Chegg who will deliver my book, on the road, in 2 days. I will NEVER use KnetBooks again. STEER CLEAR!
Answer: Infinity, because you will never receive it. And if you do receive it, it comes damaged and then when you try to return your rental that try saying the original damage is your fault and charge you a ridiculous price for a small damage that had already come with it. Or sometimes several pages are missing.
Answer: Hi Tatum, We do allow some highlighting in our rentals but we ask that you dont highlight excessively. If you return the rental back to us with over one-third of the text highlighted, we may have to mark the book as damaged. Highlighting can be distracting for future renters and we may not be able to add an overly-highlighted book back into our inventory. Consider using page flags to mark an important sentence. Flags can help you easily get back to the page you need. Page flags are also small enough that they can be used multiple times on the same page. Plus, they are really easy to remove from the textbook before you send it back at the end of the semester. Let us know if you have any other questions. Thank you!
