I will never, never ever again use kiwi.com. It's the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Please stay away!
I had an awful experience with Kiwi. When I received my booking it was from the wrong city and said I couldn't check any baggage. Plus it was about $500 more than if I would have booked directly with the airlines, but I wanted a single itinerary so my bag would be checked all the way to my destination from Spokane to a town in Norway. The total Rt from Seattle, which was not my requested starting location was $2870. 36. Four hours later when I realized they booked me from the wrong city and I couldn't check any luggage, I requested a refund. They did not respond for several days, after my 24-hour limit for full refund the airlines offered. When they did respond, they said they would only refund 75.95 Euro! When I disputed this with my bank at Capital One, the bank credited the money back to my account and I was sure it would be validated. I had already booked another flight through the two airlines. About a month later the bank deducted the money from my account saying Kiwi had it coming. The paperwork Kiwi sent showed some very fine print that the ticket was non refundable. Even though both airlines guaranteed a full refund within 24 hours and I requested it within 4 hours. Of course, my original booking request was not available so I had no way of showing my requested departure city and Kiwi won't provide it anyway. All these online flight booking companies have gone downhill and vaguely hide valuable information for the consumer so they can get you to book through them. As far as I am concerned, they are all just another scam online booking company and Kiwi is the worst. I would never ever book with them!
One word: BEWARE. They will put cheap itineraries together but have no customer service, will not help if there are schedule changes or even call you back as promised. Do yourself a favor and use a reputable travel site or book direct with the airlines (using their fares), but don't use them.
Purchased a flight for and their system booked for a totally different day 10 days latter than the date selected, that date wasn't even in my search parameters! Contacted them and they refused a refund, even though US law requires it
I bought a ticket searching in Euros to show the cheapest price. The were actually showing the prices in another currency and my flight cost 3x as much as what I thought I was paying. Please do yourself a favor and do not book here.
This is the worse company I have ever used to book tickets. I purchased round trip tickets for my grandparents for January 19,2019- February 19 from Morelia, Mexico to Atlanta, Georgia. With 3 layovers in Chicago and Florida. On the way back they missed their flight in Florida to Chicago because my grandparents didn't know where/what to do because they didn't give the wheelchair service to them. Which I had asked when I called Kiwi.com. I also called Kiwi.com to tell them that they missed the flight and to asked them what I could do. All they said was "I'm sorry for missing your flight, everything is over with us now". They told me that I have to purchased another plane ticket which turned out to be false. Because I called the airline and they explained everything to me. And I didn't have to PURCHASE ANOTHER PLANE TICKET! I had bought them because they were cheap ($1,206) but you could only take 5kg for the baggage which is nothing. And Kiwi.com charges more for extra baggage. Never in my life have I ever paid for check bags it has always been included. Unfortunately I had to pay additional money with Spirit and United airlines for the bags. Which turned to be more expensive than I thought. So, Total amount I spent on the trip was $1,451. This is first and last time I will be using Kiwi.com SCAMMERS! I should've read the review before giving my money to them!
They were supposed to check me in for a flight and they didn't, nightmare at the airport, almost missed my flight, had to pay 140 euros to check in at the airport since it was a budget airline, AND it took over 1.5 months to get a refund from kiwi in addition to 9 phone calls.
DO NOT worry about the money youre saving by booking through kiwi, IT'S NOT WORTH IT.
This is the worse company I have ever used to book tickets... The first and last time.
Very misleading and providing incorrect information.
I booked tickets on the 17th March for £1165. 00 and I cancelled these tickets due to incorrect dates within 5 minutes.
They have now refunded me £291.00 because apparently that's all the airline has returned. I have lost out on £885.00 only because I cancelled due to the dates. THIS IS ABSOLUTLY RIDICULOUS.
When you call the company, they advise you to talk to the airline and the airlines do not query anything further as this is booked through a travel agency airline. This is the worse company I have ever used. I will be taking further action as this is a lot of money for me to lose. What a rubbish company and procedures.
They rip you off, even you are into the 24 hours of storno and refund request... they msg you they will email you inside 10 days and 30 days of decission... but i waited 40 days and need to call overseas that they told me just, sorry nothing. Bad company, this one will not survive on the market.
This site will rip you off and charge you for things that are not needed or mandatory. Their customer service is horrible and they dont have customer service in mind. They charged me for luggage when the airline does not charge, about $100.00 each way. They also charged me for seats stating I MUST pay for seats when reserving seats was optional, another $100 each way. I ended up paying more than if I would have gone straight to the airline or other sites for booking. Stay away or your trip cost will double in no time. Right now I have a refund request and even though I have explained the issue they keep coming back with a no response or I will research further. I will update on whether or not this was solved.
I used them to fly to Guatemala and back to Mexico. Upon arrival to the airport Interjet said I was no able to fly to Mexico because I did not have a visa which is not never for a resident of the USA. I called kiwi.com and they did nothing even though I purchased insurance. They said I needed a letter for Interjet and would give me a flight it I paid for it. DO NOT trust this company.
Don't use this service they will rip you off and charge you additional charges on top of the booking without letting you know they charge me international transaction fees $78 extra also the bank charge me full price then additional charge for International transaction fees this company will not give you the truth what do you need to know after booking they will start playing with your money and your cloud so be aware Zero stars for this company
DO NOT BOOK THROUGH KIWI.COM. A flight was canceled by American and they did not inform me or rebook me. When I arrived at the airport and called them they refused to rebook or pay for my flight and claimed American was responsible, even though American informed all third parties of the cancellation. I spent 1.5 hours on the phone at the airport without any resolution. Absolute nightmare customer service all the way to the manager, who provided no relief to her customer and even dared to argue with me leaving me stranded at DCA.
SCAM BEWARE
This is the worst experience I have ever had booking a flight and I have traveled a lot. Booked with one CC and had to go thru a verification process scan passports, take pictures to identify for security purposes... fine. Then I had to wait for 15 hours to get a response and they declined my booking when I asked why they just said that they use a 3rd party service based out of Israel and they have no idea why it was declined, just kept saying the 3rd party service out of Israel declined it ON REPEAT. I then tried booking again as Kiwi was the only option and I had to book my flight. I used another card (bank card), they took the funds from my account both times and now I am waiting again for them to verify through their 3rd party in Israel. It's been nearly 2 days I've been dealing with this in the meantime the flight fares keep going up. Currently, they have nearly $2500 of my funds and I need to wait to see if my next flight has been approved if not they will refund my money within 10 days. That is a lot of money. Something is very fishy with this company. If I wasn't at their mercy given they already have my funds and they appear to be the only option (at least for this fight) which again I find very strange, I would without a doubt cancel but then I would have $4000 tied up in flights. I will never book with them again!
App didn't update one of the legs of my flights. It tells me my flight was in the morning but it was at night so I miss my connecting flights. I called them and they told me I had to buy new flights even though I have a 'transfer guarantee'. Not a reliable app and customer service acts friendly but doesn't help you Update: After contacting Kiwi they blame the airline for not refunding the flight. Its Kiwis mistake but wont refund my additional costs incurred. I advise all to book with caution.
Dear reader! If you want to travel for sure, please take into consideration of my personal experience and afterwards think about booking a ticket from Kiwi.Of course, I underline that is my personal opinion. What I mean is, even if the payment was done(booking reference and receipt via e-mail), there was no official ticket for me to fly. I bought my ticket (appr. 270$) and I went to the airport to Check in.At first I tried to scan my passport at the self-service check in machine. For some reason I could not be identified as a passenger. I asked the personel and they could not find my name in the list as well. Oh my God! Heart attack is on the way...! So I called them. They had at first an automatic talker. After a decade (I lost a lot of money on that call as well)a woman whose pronunciation was not very good (my English are not perfect either, but it would definatelly be preferable to communicate with someone capable to speak a little bit better) told me officially that although my money had been taken, they needed more hours to decide if they were going to send me a normal ticket or not! In other words my payment was possible to be declined regardless the bad timing. Lovely... my gate had already been announced. Finally they thankfully told me about a refund, which I am still waiting for.At the end, I bought a last minute ticket for appr. 357$ at the airport. Definatelly as it comes to me personally, I am not gonna make a purchase from Kiwi in the future. Good luck my friends and have a safe flight with safelly booked tickets!
SELLING SEPERATE TICKETS AS ONE BOOKING
Would never use Kiwi.com again ~ turned a trip that my partner takes regularly in to an expensive nightmare. Purchased a ticket from Stanstead to Sharm el Sheikh which requires a change at Turkey. Instead of booking a transit ticket all the way through as every other company does, they book each ticket separately which means you need to collect and recheck your bags. This in itself although a bit of a pain when you are under time constraints to make your connecting flight could maybe be accepted for the cheaper ticket. What in NOT acceptable is that after collecting your bag you need to purchase a $30 visa to allow you back in to check your bag in for your connecting flight (side note ~ if you are not carrying dollars or euros you need to withdraw them from the cash machine which has a minimum withdrawal amount of $60 at an exorbitant exchange rate) Just when he thought it couldn't get any worse his duty free although in a sealed duty free bag was taken off of him as he had to go outside the airport to recheck bags.
Would have been so much cheaper after all of this to book direct with the airline and so much easier. Kiwi customer services were extremely unhelpful and rude.
Kiwi booked a flight it was impossible for me to get on, transit via a country that requires a yellow fever vaccine, that due to their error required me to exit and re enter despite only being in transit. They offered me no help at the airport and are currently refunding me $0.50. Appalling service. I fly 15+ times a year and will never use them again
Kiwi.com charges exorbitant fees and has terrible customer service. AVOID this scammer. Their "margins" and "service fees" are near of 50% of the flight cost, which could have been purchased directly.
If I could give negative starts or 0 starts I would! I contacted Kiwi.com to change my first flight that I booked within 5 hours and after speaking to 2 different colleagues and being transferred to a manger. I was promised to receive a call back the next morning. I did receive the call back at 6:26 AM the next day and I have been on the phone for 6 hours now and my issue is still not resolved and I have spoken with managers, supervisors, various staffs. This is after I was promised that they can fix the issue! Kiwi should be ashamed with the customer service that it offers. I was told the supervisor is going to contact me in 2 min and then when I called back in an hour told that he went home! Really? This is how you take care of your customers? They are located outside the US, so connection is not good, and when there was a dropped call, the supervisor did not call back, I had to call back and track him down. Please advise on how you intend to resolve and fix your customer relations. This is my first time booking through your site and I will never be booking here again or recommending anyone to book through your site. It is inhumane and unethical to treat people like this.
Answer: I have reserved 7 flight through Kiwi with Spirit Airlines. Within 24 h I realised that I made a mistake on the flight date. I made a change and saw that Kiwi wanted to charge for both flights. When I told them I thought I could be reimbursed, they told me to go through the refund process on their website. I did. Just to make sure, I called Spirit and explained the issue. They said that they would fully reimburse Kiwi because the change was make within 24 h and it was an american law. Today, I received the answer for my refund request and Kiwi said they could not get reimbursement from the airline and I would have to pay double. When I tried to reach them to tell them there had to be another way, all of their contact information on their website was 'temporarily unavailable'. I feel like they have stolen from me.
Answer: I am sorry you are going through this, I checked but can't seem to find a record of it either
Answer: Kiwi makes money from air flight cancellations and mistakes they make because They will refund nothing! I even bought add on insurance. That doesn't prevent them from dismissing it will all sorts of unreasonable misdirection. They have no right to operate and be so big... at the expense of poor unfortunate customers who spend their hard earned money to travel. The give the aviation industry a really bad name.
Answer: There is no doubt that Kiwi.com is a scam. If you want to get your money back, then email the US Department of Transportation (douglas dot e dot davis at dot.gov) and CC the CEO of Kiwi.com (oliver dot dlouhy at kiwi.com), the Vice-President of Customer Services (Petra dot Reiter at kiwi.com), and the head of customer servcies for the EU (anna dot cavazzini at europarl.europa.eu) Good luck and do not use them again.
Answer: Because people don't know and they offer cheap flights.
Answer: Kiwi.com are crooks and charlatans. Avoid them. Dispute the charges with your bank if you can, and then spend 30 minutes online piling bad reviews till they are out of business.
Answer: Booking service... and a bad one on the market. Outrageous and not responsable to their customers
Answer: Yes call them threat them that you will sue them and also tell your credit card company that they made a mistake and are not owning to it. Get screenshots of everything including your calls to kiwi. Ask them for a voucher and on other hand contact your credit card to file a dispute.
