Kiwi isn't a scam, however it has a horrible business model and application that leaves users with a false sense of security and confirmation of tickets.
Kiwi does everything by email, they will send you one email indicating any changes but if spam collects it or you just happen to miss it, you could end of stuck somewhere because your flight was cancelled a month ago and you have 24 hours to respond to that one email. Even though their application makes it seem like everything is fine with your itinerary. Look at the picture I posted, that flight from Paris to Denver was cancelled 3 weeks ago apparently, and apparently I was notified on what I wanted to do, yet here it is as though everything is fine.
Just stay away from this business, use Google flights and book each flight with the carrier directly. You won't save any money going through them.
I booked x2 flights with kiwi.com, sky scanner put me onto them. Flying Gatwick to Vienna returning to Edinburgh but changing in Krakow. My Vienna to krakow flight was canceled and they tried to offer alternatives that would not get me in time for my connecting flight in krakow, making the whole trip invalid for me as I can't get home, 6 weeks after lodging my complaint they have offered me a £13 refund, a absolute disgrace of a company.
They took my money £160 x2 for a trip they could not fulfill surely they have to refund me. Terrible customer service, avoid this company at all costs and I will think twice about using sky scanner now.
Is there nothing I can do about my lost money?
Agent does not know anything about the middle east, her booking caused me to loose my luggage in Kuwait and spend 4 days in Bahrain and 3 days in German without my belongings. Additionally, my luggage never was returned to me. You CANNOT change airlines or planes in Kuwait if your luggage is only checked to Kuwait. The airport will not issue you a VISA to exit to the baggage claim, and the airport staff will say they will transfer to your next flight but they will NOT. If you contact Kuwait airlines they will claim your bags never arrived in Kuwait, and can do nothing to help you.
I've been flying my whole life and thought I'd book through kiwi.com for a cheap flights from Spain to New Zealand. What a mistake. No food covered anywhere, but this was not clear on the booking information. Bags couldn't be checked through, so had to buy visas and exit 3 times, for 2 of us. Weight limits were not made clear, and ranged from 40 to 15kg per person. Again, this was not clear on the booking information. With the money spent in extra baggage fees and food in airports, it's not even remotely worth it. The check in guy in Australia confirmed that he only has problems with people booking from kiwi.com. Stay away and spend more elsewhere, as you'll end up paying less in the end anyway.
Flight was canceld by the sirline and i hot only 25% refund
I try to contact customer servise but it dident work
Never again
The WORST company I have EVER come across. I booked a flight to then receive an email saying the flight price has gone up - I have two options 1 to either pay the difference or 2 receive full cancellation. I chose to cancel the entire booking. The payment has been sitting in my PENDING TRANSACTIONS in my bank so KIWI have technically NOT taken my money, simply just "held" it however telling me it takes up to 10 WORKING DAYS for MY money to become available again... what kind of nonsense is this!? Then refuse to give an authorisation code to give to my bank to try and process this faster due to "international banking laws". No way, technically haven't taken my money yet the funds are not available in my account therefore they should give me my money back fast and easy the same way they tried to take it! NEVER AGAIN. DO NOT BOOK. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE EITH CALLS THAT CHARGE YOU AND THEY PUT YOU On hold for a good 5 minutes to get more money out of you.
I booked two connecting flights with Kiwi and was very apprehensive. As one of the airlines was Eurowings, it was 40 minutes late, which greatly lessened the chance of making the next flight as there was only 90 minutes between them. Kiwi warned us of the delay and they offered alternatives or complete refund. In the end we made it!
Very bad experience with them.
Kiwi plus Ryanair could be a nightmare!
Never again with Kiwi and even with Ryanair.
However you have to be very careful and make sure to do the checkin at least 3 days before the fligh otherwise you will pay a fee that could be more expensive than the fligh like in my case.
No customer service, no assistance.
Futhermore the Kiwi Guarantee doesn't exist.
Please be aware.
Take note of all the negative reviews and be warned. Kiwi.com are basically theives disguised as travel agents. There are no words to adequately describe their ineptitude, lack of care for customers or the blatant nature of their criminality. This criminal enterprise needs to be closed down by regulators.
Join the club. Filled full details twice but told flights not available each time. No contact details. Good reviews on Trustpilot because they won't accept my bad review.
If you are trying to book a flight and pay using a credit card ( in my case a Mastercard issued by a U.S. bank), do not even consider using KiWi. I thought it was perhaps a New Zealand based firm; it is NOT: it is based in the Czech Republic. The card verification process was impossible. In spite of sending them photographs of my passport and driver's license, they refused to put through the charge. Take my advice: if you are trying to pay with a U.S. credit card, use a different service -- not Kiwi. I had no trouble booking with Booking.com
They are completely and utterly incompetent. Avoid at all costs. They will blunder everything and refuse to take any responsibility.
They do not book connecting flights together so you must go through immigration to a country you aren't visiting and stand in so many lines. Pray your transfer time isn't close together or that you need a visa for the country you're passing through. This is the most infuriating flight trip I've been on. Thankfully we had plenty of layover time and no countries needed visas... Now I have so many extra stamps in my passport and stood in far too many lines and went too many wrong places not knowing what to do. I also hate extant machines and I had to go through so many extra of those! Grrrrrrrrrrr
I couldn't fly. They book an international fly as individual stops. Nobody knows you are transiting. Visas required for transit flights?! Super wrong. We missed the flight because of that. Plus you have to pay for checked on laugage $215 and it's only 15kg. No refunds for anything. No guarantees either.
Don't have the patience to go through the nightmare I had dealing with Kiwi right now. Just wanted to get the word out to fellow travelers that these guys are the real deal when it comes to others accounts detailing their collective miserable experiences doing business with this company. Any third party middle man that books individual connecting flights with several low cost carriers for a single outbound journey should be enough to raise the red flags. Throw in the agonizing hours upon hours that will be wasted dredging through automated call centers and unresponsive emails to attempt to correct their errors and you have a time bomb. And, there will be errors, probable missed connecting flights, additional costs due to the canceled and re-routed flights on top of not being able to book your seats (unless paying an additional fee - for every connection). Then you can throw in international long hauls with no entertainment and broken seats on very old planes that not only do not offer meals but you'll probably have to argue for a half glass of water. You will be stuck for any costs related to cancellations and delays on their end. It's a stressful money pit of an affair that will test the most thick skinned of travelers.
Better to spend the extra money booking directly with an airline or at least use an aggregator which has the sense to book connecting outbound journeys as a single ticket/reservation with the airline.
DO NOT ORDER THROUGH KIWI I REPEAT DO NOT ORDER THROUGH KIWI! Do not order through kiwi because 1. They are not responsive and 2. They don't know how professionally make sure there clients fly successfully. They will take your money and never reach back out. I got stuck in a whole other country due to kiwi's bad booking and not only did they not respond to me but tried blaming me for their wrong doings. Mind you what I went through was very scary in a whole other country alome and Kiwi did nothing but say we cant help you. As many airlines as I flew through this is the worst agency to ever go through. They dont know how to take ownership when they've made a mistake. SO DO NOT ORDER THROUGH KIWI.
They refuse to refund my money for the tickets bought with refund insurance. I called them a dozen times, and they "generously" agreed with refund about 10% of my money. They are located in Chech Republic, so chances of suing them are slim.
I searched for a round trip ticket from Singapore to Perth on Skyscanner.com. The best price was 385 SGD offered by kiwi.com. I proceeded to their website, made the purchase and authorised 385 SGD purchase. I received an email that my transaction was being processed. After 10 mins, I received a confirmation, e-ticket and Invoice for 485 SGD. During the 24 hours before and 24 hours after, the price never exceeded 430 SGD on Skyscanner. I contacted them immediately regarding their fraudulent transaction but they kept sending grammatically incorrect emails denying the transaction was authorised for 385 SGD.
This is bullsh*t, not a company!
In February my husband bought a ticket through Kiwi service we had a huge problem with our suitcases because KIWI didn't send us information that during our layover we had to check out / in again, also that airline we used allowed only one suitcase and is impossible to buy extra unless you buy ticket way before your trip ( if we knew that from Kiwi, we would buy definitely ahead, but as I mentioned, they never gave us this info), so I'll be short, a cheap ticket cost us double and we had to deal with 3 different airlines, which rules Kiwi never provided.
Okay, second time is today! I have $960 for my ticket and trying to buy it. It took me few hours to get verified and they few times denied my verification, I called to London to figure where's my money gone but NO ticket confirmation. Eventually... like 5 hours later I received an email that my verification was unsuccessful! Like W*Fin February it was ok and now not?! Plus my money frozen for 10 days because they had to deal with my bank! Hey people... 10 days I stuck in a country and can't get my $960 for even to buy the other ticket.
Guys, really if you don't want to get any trouble and stuck in a middle of noway -PLEASE NEVER EVER USE KIWI! Two times confirmed!
They don't care about people, they just put together few flights and give you seems the best price but the issues come later- it's not their responsibilities, NO PROTECTION! SCAMERS
Answer: I have reserved 7 flight through Kiwi with Spirit Airlines. Within 24 h I realised that I made a mistake on the flight date. I made a change and saw that Kiwi wanted to charge for both flights. When I told them I thought I could be reimbursed, they told me to go through the refund process on their website. I did. Just to make sure, I called Spirit and explained the issue. They said that they would fully reimburse Kiwi because the change was make within 24 h and it was an american law. Today, I received the answer for my refund request and Kiwi said they could not get reimbursement from the airline and I would have to pay double. When I tried to reach them to tell them there had to be another way, all of their contact information on their website was 'temporarily unavailable'. I feel like they have stolen from me.
Answer: I am sorry you are going through this, I checked but can't seem to find a record of it either
Answer: Kiwi makes money from air flight cancellations and mistakes they make because They will refund nothing! I even bought add on insurance. That doesn't prevent them from dismissing it will all sorts of unreasonable misdirection. They have no right to operate and be so big... at the expense of poor unfortunate customers who spend their hard earned money to travel. The give the aviation industry a really bad name.
Answer: There is no doubt that Kiwi.com is a scam. If you want to get your money back, then email the US Department of Transportation (douglas dot e dot davis at dot.gov) and CC the CEO of Kiwi.com (oliver dot dlouhy at kiwi.com), the Vice-President of Customer Services (Petra dot Reiter at kiwi.com), and the head of customer servcies for the EU (anna dot cavazzini at europarl.europa.eu) Good luck and do not use them again.
Answer: Because people don't know and they offer cheap flights.
Answer: Kiwi.com are crooks and charlatans. Avoid them. Dispute the charges with your bank if you can, and then spend 30 minutes online piling bad reviews till they are out of business.
Answer: Booking service... and a bad one on the market. Outrageous and not responsable to their customers
Answer: Yes call them threat them that you will sue them and also tell your credit card company that they made a mistake and are not owning to it. Get screenshots of everything including your calls to kiwi. Ask them for a voucher and on other hand contact your credit card to file a dispute.
