Kijiji's reputation has significantly declined among users, with many expressing frustration over poor customer service and technical issues. Customers frequently report difficulties in accessing support, experiencing unresponsive help centers, and facing account bans without clear explanations. Additionally, concerns about ad visibility and the prevalence of scams on the platform detract from user experience. Despite some long-term users appreciating the site's historical effectiveness, the overall sentiment leans towards dissatisfaction, particularly regarding paid advertising and the platform's recent updates, which many find cumbersome and ineffective. Users increasingly favor alternatives like Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist for their advertising needs.

This individual is excellent with pets. Treats them as tho they were her own. Also, leaves your home very clean. My pets always get excited when they meet this person. Would definitely recommend! You will be very satisfied.
I have tried to navigate Kijiji.ca over the last week and found it to be one of the slowest sites on that I have used. My hope is that a new service is developed soon!
Kijiji is by far the worst site I've used to advertise, sell and buy anything from! I posted various ads to get the word out about my new services, and they deleted all of them as they were apparently identical. Then, after they deleted nearly all my ads, I checked them and NONE were even close to identical. So I sent in a complaint and thy did nothing to help me. They were unjustified and I am unsatisfied. AWFUL SITE!
Site seems lost and getting worse. Same used products reappearing page after page after page make surfing a miserable experience. Search relevance is completely absent lately. Far too many "businesses" appearing in search results.
There's more but I'm done. Moving on to find the new better.
They used to be ok but not anymore.
I placed some ads with Kijiji looking for dancers for an outdoor event.
Kijiji deleted my ads for prohibited reason.
When contacted, for them, the wording "dancers" is associated with sexual activities, thus the ads violated their policies. And talking to those uneducated people did not go anywhere.
Come on, at least have a decency to hire people that at least understand English, or have certain education degree.
Just unbelievable! I should give "no star" but there isn't an option.
I had recently posted an ad in different region on Kijiji and I paid for it to have them on the top. Kijiji moved the ad to a category of their choice and reduced my visibility options. I contacted them on their chat line, and the rep was telling me over and over again that your ads are in the right category. B. S. If I want to advertise in a newspaper or magazine, I tell them where I want it, because that is where I think I get most of the his. If there is something wrong with the ad, it is misleading or inappropriate I understand. I requested a refund and I was told again that the ads were in the right category. The worst thing, the rep named, Casey closed the chat line before I could explain to her my concern. Think twice before you post on Kijiji.
Kijiji used to be an awesome site, where it was easy to sell and buy stuff off of. Now they're blocking people all over the place. They won't allow me or any of the people I know post anything, and if that should happen and by some kind of miracle they would allow it, it would be removed in a matter of hours. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE SITE!
They recent update forces you to pay for an ad. They're already getting ad views from the fact that i'm using their website, but no they want more. $#*! that. $#*! them.
I posted an ad to rent my house. I filled out all the "mandatory" portions and explained my house. Then it was deleted. I reposted with a bit more information, but I was perplexed as to why my previous ad was deleted. My second post was deleted again. So I asked the customer service, what was wrong with my ad. Then they said I had to put:
Accurate monthly rent/price
Location of house/apartment
Type of apartment; basement, low rise/high rise (include floor number)
Whether the unit is furnished or unfurnished
Images of the inside of the unit
Date the unit is available
Whether or not utilities are included in rent; if so, specify which utilities are included.
The entire address or my phone number was not a part of "mandatory" information. Also I did indicated it was unfurnished by clicking options.
Anyway, I added more information. Yet again it was deleted. This time, they said I should have included:
- What is the price/rent? Does rent include hydro, gas, or any other amenities?
- Contact name and number.
- Length of lease.
- Policy on pets.
- Clear images of the space.
- The address or general location of the unit.
- What floor is this unit on?
- Is there any outdoor space?
- How many appliances are included?
- Any relevant information regarding the condition.
- How many rental references are required?
Bunch of BS! Some of the abovementioned suggestions were not made previously (such as "how many appliances are included"). In addition, I have my phone number filled out in the mandatory section. Why do I need to repeat it in my Description?
I thought they were just trying to frustrate me so that I would pay money to post ads. But after reading other unsatisfied users who had paid ads and yet got their ads deleted, I guess Kijiji is just a very unhelpful site.
When I try to look for travel trailers with NO BUNKS I am shown all trailers with no exclusion of bunk models and at times it appears bunk models are the only thing shown.
Thank you Michael. You promised and delivered. Please call *******213. Great bunch of guys. A very relaxing time. No stress.
This establishment has no concern for repeat costumers all they want is their payment. They do not care if the client is happy. They do not stand by their products they sell and are very rude if you question anything. They messed up a girls hair on grad day which totally killed her special day. Plus we bought hair color from them and the hair color did not change her hair what so ever. There response was rude, cold, uncaring attitude. Do not give these people your hard earned money!
Kijiji can be hit and miss the key seems to be patience and excellent interpersonal and communication skills ( many people lack these assets). Be advised that posting your email address or telephone number on these type of websites can result in that information being collected by various con artists and or telemarketing agencies. If someone makes and offer that seems to good to be true... It very well might be a Phishing scam. Overall be careful when using "bulletin board" style 'buy sell and trade' websites.
I LIVE IN A SHELTER, WE ALL HAVE THE SAME IP ADDRESS. I TRY TO PUT STUFF FOR FREE AND YOU DELETE MY AD. I HAVE A DYING FRIEND AND I WANTED TO SELL SOMETHING SO CHEAP AND PAY FOR PARKING AT THE HOSPITAL. THEY DELETED THE AD AND IT IS CRAP. KIJIJI USED TO BE GOOD, NOW EVERYONE HATES IT
I inteded to advertise my upcoming garage sale, and proceeded to make it a "top ad". Kijiji took the money $10. 50. 2 days later I search my ad and it was on page 3?! I look further into it and also notice my ad was duplicated. I emailed them regarding these 2 issues and the next morning I hear back, the solution for them was to say "i was not charged the 10.50 and then they deleted the ad. My account with them shows no charges, but my bank account clearly shows the money was taken by Kijiji. Extremely poor customer service! And Scammers! I will be using an alternate site in the future
Kijiji starting removing ads to let paid ads to have more benfits, please write reviews as much as you can everywhere to let people knows that and instead of kijiji to put their ads in craiglist!
Once I started posting a paid ad I had my ad removed immediately. The reason they gave made no sense (they said my business, a brick and mortar traditional retail mall franchise, one of nearly 3000 worldwide, was an MLM scheme.), and when I offered compelling evidence that they had made an error, they cut off communication and kept my money.
Kijiji which is owned by ebay is another example of a company with enough money to have google list them 1,2 and 3 in google search results and honestly for a company that charges so much money to post ads at top and erase without refund or more than a reply of wrong category, duplicate ad. It has to also be the only business I know that has no customer service phone number. Kijiji site should be shut down. With so many complaints maybe a class action lawsuit is in order. Disruption of business or loss of income sounds about right.
They are trying to call me a dealer and charge me for the adds and I am not a dealer and do not sell cars for living, I've had the same two adds running for months and couldn't sell anything on this site due to all the window shoppers that visit this site, your add is on page 30 just 10 minutes after listing. I will not use this site ever again and will start supporting other sites suck as the Auto trader.
This ad service needs to die with AltaVista, so nobody ever uses them again, they will take your money but then delay your ad and not post it! Horrible scammers, unbelievable! And then when help desk was contacted, the agent had the audacity to tell me: "you'll just have to wait like everyone else"!
