I got an email about the Black Friday deal November 20 only and then learned at checkout it was not available for this product. Nothing in the email and the Black Friday ad said anything about exceptions. The excuse used was that overstock items are not included in the deal. That should have been disclosed. I have tried to call several times but could not get through to a person. I left a call back number last week but nobody has called.

Not typical of the service I have previously received.

Very happy with the camera and lens that I purchased. My only reason for giving less than 5 stars is that I didn't realize the lens hood was not an Olympus hood, which normally I wouldn't care about, but the hood that came with the lens doesn't seem to tighten up properly and slides off quite easily...if this was tested at all before shipping it they certainly would have seen that it didn't fit very well, as I noticed it immediately.

To reiterate, my main issue with the after matket hood is that it doesn't fit well and falls off very easily, not necessarily that it's not Olympus brand. In fact the fit is so bad I'm going to have to either modify the hood or buy a new one, because it simply doesn't stay on regardless of how tight I get the thumbscrew.

Also on that note the rear lens cap was also not the OEM cap, but was a cheap peice of plastic that just slides on and off. When the posted ad said 'with caps and hood' I make the assumption that it's the OEM caps and hood...or at least caps and hoods that fit! So, some disappointment with the lens accessories, but the lens itself seems to be great so far.

I just ordered the Olympus 40-150 2.8 pro from KEH and really hope the caps, hood and case are OEM...I guess I'll find out shortly!
