I ordered a piece of equipment on 10-19, they held the order to confirm my order was not fraudlent, I then confirmed it wasn't they then held it again because they forgot to include taxes, they then assured me they would rush order the equipment, charged my for a lift gate charge, shipping charg and residential address charge swore it would be to the person we ordered it for on time. They give UPS the wrong p[hone number UPS says they cannot deliver without an appointment and because KAtom provided a bad number they could not deliver. It is now 11 day slater and the item I was assured would arrive within 3 days has not arrived. Needless to say they spoiled someone's buirthday surprise and have screwed things up every way possible. Have they not heard of the telephone to call a customer immediately if there is a problem. I had to call them multiple times each time to be told they were sorry. This company has the worst service and I really don't care what their prices are they do not deserve my business nor anyone elses.
DO NOT SHOP HERE! This company is a joke! Worst customer service I have ever seen in a company. Waited 4 months and still waiting to return a coffee brewer that arrived damaged. Takes months for anyone to get back to you, and they will charge you for returns. They make you do all the leg work for the pickup. Save yourself and shop else where!
Terrible! I have realized, after placing several orders with this company, they do not care about the customers or what is even good business sense. I have placed an orders and it seems everything comes from a secondary vendor. They pay for shipping from that vendor to them, then from them to me. So, when ordering two casters, I received one correct caster and one that was completely wrong. Not only did the vendor send to them wrong, they did not even confirm what was sent, they just forwarded to me the incorrect casters and paid the shipping. When I received a RMA, I returned the one incorrect caster. They asked why I didn't return both. Why? Only one was wrong, if I return the good one, I would be out two and more problems. Now, I was charged instantaneously... order has been paid when placed. Now, they would do nothing until I sent pictures and the incorrect caster back. Now, they ship the bad caster back to the vendor and the vendor does whatever and will now take 10 to 14 business days to get a status or even ship the correct caster. Did I say I already paid and no call or email was initiated by this company to correct the issue?
I am stuck waiting and continue to follow up with them since they do not initiate any status to me, do not push the vendor to fedex overnight the correct caster due to their problem. On top of all of this, it does not seem these issues ever get corrected, no management is involved and the owner is never even informed. So, what does that mean? It will continue to happen and to you.
I wish I read these reviews before ordering my item from Ka Tom. I ordered 4 universal Tiki lamp clamps. The shipped items were not as ordered. Their delayed replies kept me from using my Tiki lamps as planned. And even then, they wanted me to send a picture of the clamps to verify my complaints before they can instruct me on the return procedures. Needless to say, I discontinued all communications with Ka Tom, and absorbed the loss.
I ordered a Vollrath Carbon Steel Stir-fry pan on May 19. The item was listed as "Typically Ships in 3-4 Business Days". The following Monday I checked my order status and it hadn't shipped. I took a look at the product page and found that the ship information had been changed to "Typically ships in 9-13 business days. Since Monday was a holiday and not a "business day" I waited until Friday (9th business day) and contacted customer service. I was assured the pan would ship that day and I would receive an invoice and order confirmation that afternoon. I wasn't surprised to NOT receive a shipping notice or invoice.
I contacted customer service again and was told the warehouse shows a quantity of one listed in inventory but couldn't find it. But, the customer service rep. Told me they had a non-stick version in stock if I wanted it. A non-stick wok? I don't think so. If seasoned correctly carbon steel will form it's own non-stick coating that is much better than teflon and safer.
I wish I had seen these reviews before ordering. I've wasted two weeks waiting on a stir-fry pan/wok that was never available. KaTom's had the lowest price advertised online but having the best price is not worth anything if the item is not in stock.
Two weeks of waiting and I had to contact them to find out there was a problem! How do these people stay in business?
Website advertised a griddle with base action station. My company ordered two and paid in advance. They did not place the order. When I called to check on order week later they acted like they never heard of us. They finally said yes they had our check and placed the order. When order came they set the griddles with no bases. When I called again and spoke with Charles he said they had a mistake on the web site and they bases would be extra. I gave them a chance to make this right and they simply do not care about the customers. Read all the reviews on the web, you'll see! I will never do business here. We are a Hilton Hotel.
Buyer Beware... I have been waiting for me refund for almost 2 months! Customer service is AWFUL! The say they will get back to you and never do. You can email or talk to someone and the answer is always the same. Most terrible experience ever!
THIS IS A TERRIBLE BUSINESS! Don't shop here! They lie about their inventory levels - they just order stuff when you order it from them - so everything takes WEEKS to arrive! Much better at their direct competitors- etundra and even Amazon!
Buyer be ware. If you have any issues with your order at all this Company's customer Service group terrible and it stems from the Company's overall policy of once you hit submit on your order cross your fingers because whatever happens after that is yours to deal with. The product arrived damaged and the customer service representative for return, for which there is only one so that should tell you about how much help you should plan to receive, basically sent the Company's shipping policy that states once they ship the product it's the Buyer's problem. This is not a company that you should want to do business with unless you feel the few dollars difference in price from other suppliers is worth the potential liability you may have if you have any issues. Order dryfood dispencer, when i received the product it was a fudge warmer. I called company they told me it will be 24-48 hours before someone will contact you. In the mean time i need this product. Never again
Head warnings. Small company with small minded customer service. I paid $10.50 for replacement spice bottles, with $8.60 for shipping. Ridiculous. The billing zip code was used for the shipping zip code, not sure who's fault it was, but I called immediately when I got the email confirmation, and they couldn't change it. UPS wants at LEAST $12 dollars to change the zip code. To UPSs credit, they said I could call on the day the shipment is supposed to arrive and try to get it corrected then. The discussions I had on the phone with KaTom, as well as the emails I recieved, are consistent with what others have said. They really expect me to shell out additional costs to get my order. I could just buy a new spice rack for that much. I had no idea I was dealing with such a small time, incompetent business. I didn't search for reviews, I was redirected to them from another website. Don't believe the "25 years of excellence" - those people must be long gone that provided that caliber of service, because they certainly are not there now. A big headache for a small order. Will never order from them again, or recommend, even to my worst enemy.
Beware of delivery times when ordering from this site. They are a small business that does not have much in stock and orders your items from the manufacturer after the order is placed. You will wait 6-8 weeks.
I ordered an caramel cooker a month ago. My credit card was promptly charged and a month later their is no cooker, no response for customer service and no response to my request for a refund. Following this review I will be placing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Buyer Beware.
I received my product on the 4th of March and the same day requested a Return Authorization Number so I could send it back. Who buys just one section of a steamer, without a base for it? The photo shows a complete steamer and they put a note in, saying, "Image may not depict product color, inclusions or accessories." I never considered the bottom of a steamer to be an accessory. So today is the 21st of March and still no RA number so they can take my $26.90 deduct about $10 for shipping and deduct 30% for restocking. I will never do business with this place again and recommend everyone to do the same.
I ordered a 9 quart double boiler, when it arrived i learned the actual size of the inner pot that you cook in was less than 8 quarts. Very misleading advertising. They charged me a 25% restocking fee to return.
Placed an order from the UK and they messed it up. Spent over $100. They say they call UK customers and pretend that the phones don't work when you ask them to. Their phones conveniently work when they suggest the I should make the international call and pay the overseas rates. They ignore my requests and repeat information and tell me that there is nothing they can do for me without tring to rectify the matter or asking me questions. They have taken my money and not provided what I paid for. I saw pictures of the small room that they work in and I see that they are just passing me around one room and ignoring me. Awful. You may get a few good prices, but you give up customer service. The employees are given so much work to do, it is simply is impossible to give Triple AAA customer service and still complete every single PETTY task given to them. Errors are frequent due to turnover of new employers unable to be able to function under such a stress load without proper training. Good employess that would be valuable to customer service leave due to being overwhelmed and taking the blame for circumstances beyond their control. This leads to your inablity to get your product in a timely manner, being notified, proper delivery, and simply being about to call and talk to a person who has the ability to help you.
Katom restaruant supply shipped me a warped piece of equipment (slaw cutter $671.00) which they didn't want to replace... so they fixed the problem and shipped it back to me and then double billed me on my credit card.
Answer: False, they emailed me promptly. I do not write reviews but because of the people on here misrepresenting the company I almost missed out on a great price with free shipping. The experience was great from start to finish. Why is every company on this site so negative
