I purchased a product from JCPenny in dec. It was an angel topper for my tree. They said it was on backorder for 2 weeks. The next morning I found it on Amazon and they delivered it the next day. I called to cancel the order withJCPenny 10 hours after it was ordered and they refused to let me cancel because they have a Half hour cancelation policy on a backorder item. Its no wonder stores like JCPENNY are going out of business. With that kind of policy they deserve to go out of business.
DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT TRUST IT... Let this company die in peace. Lol... I had to ask the agent "do I need to call my lawyer?" All of the sudden my purchase status changed to "Ready for pickup" :D
I purchased a package of men's T-shirts from JCPenney. They charged me $9.00 for shipping. I was thinking since they charge so much, it had better be sent immediately, and by UPS. I was wrong. They use a shipping company called Laser Ship, That company is in capable of getting a simple package to your home. I will review them later, as it's too disheartening to write all in one review. After emailing JCPenney Customer Service 12 times, and calling at least three times speaking to a customer service rep in another country, we still could not find where this package was. It could not be traced, and when it finally was, it was supposed to be delivered yesterday. I get an email saying Laser Ship couldn't fulfill the delivery. There is no reason for that. JCPenney takes no responsibility for their blunder. They use a sub standard delivery company that's in capable of delivering the simplest of packages. I was a long-standing customer, even when they were going through bankruptcy with your past CEO. At this point anyone who uses this delivery company should be forewarned that they probably won't receive their packages. I will not be buying from JCPenney again. They lost my business. Another company would've sent out a replacement package by a different company, like USPS or UPS. I went through my credit card company to have the charges reversed. But left a very bad taste in my mouth.
Don't ever try to return a item without your receipt! The credit card you used is useless. Their statement we receive in the mail also useless. In the end they just pick your pock and refund your item at 10 cents on the dollar. I had the manager hep me with this on my last visit to JC Penny. I asked what do they do with Christmas gifts and no receipts? He said they to get a discounted refund.
Horrible experience!
I just received this today. It was wobbly so I opened and to my surprise found a piece of tape "holding" a completely broken piece together. Then to make matters worse the gentleman I spoke with Abraham and he literally said my bad. Now I have to ship it back, wait for them to receive the item back, wait 7-10 more days for a refund and another 7+ days to get a new item. All I get for that is "my bad". The costumer service as horrible and they offered me no helpful solution to exchanging this item. The outside of the suitcase is fine, although it doesn't roll, stand up, etc due to be broken. I can't believe this product was even sent out.
I use online ordering very often. I had not ordered from JC Penney in several years however I found a left over gift card so went on line to use it, I ended up ordering an additional amount and my order came to about $42, my order came and I received one earring out of a set I wouldn't have purchased on a good day. I called customer service and after speaking with a foreign phone bank I was promised a refund. When I actually looked at the order I found I had been charged $85 dollars for the $42 order. I called back and they told me they would not credit back to me because their sale code didn't register. I asked for a supervisor and before the supervisor another phone she was berating customers who complained, she apparently did realize I could hear her. I told her I usually shopped with Macys and I had never experienced such poor and rude customer service. Macys and most other stores ship free unlike Penney's who charged me $8.95. Everything is going back to the store for a refund and this is a never again shopping experience.
I tried to deactivate my online customer account since I no longer buy anything from JC Penney. I logged in and used the chat function, but the person from JC Penney refused to deactivate the account. I send them 3 email messages providing my USERID and asking them to deactivate the account. They told me I had to call them and that they valued my time (which is clearly not true). I called and provided my userid, the address in my online profile and the phone number in my profile. The JC Penney rep said she couldn't deactivate my account. She wanted more info, like my present address -- which is not in my JC Penney account. Then she hung up on me.
ORDERED A WEDDING RING SET ON LINE GOT IT AND WAS THE WRONG SIZE PAID $2111. 77 FOR THE RINGS. JC PENNY OFFERED ME A REFUNG OF $1795. 00 BACK A BIG RIP OFF TOOK MY RINGS
AND LEFT. NOWAY WILL I BUY FROM PENNYS ONLINE TOOK RING TO JEWELERS AND THE JEWELRY SAID THE DIAMOND WAS A S-2 HE SOLD ONE LIKE IT FOR $800.00!
I recently placed an online order at JC Penney. I paid for the shipping to my local store. I placed my order over 2 weeks ago and I still am waiting for my order. This is ridiculous and unacceptable. No wonder they are about to go under.
I've been a JC Penney customer for 30 years; I used to love their stores, merchandise and customer service, but that's all gone.
I ordered some products on line; the products are poor quality and the return policy does not specify that the customer has to pay for shipping if they return anything. With a lot of store closed, it's inconvenient to make a trip to return items due to the distance. They fail to understand that their only hope to survive is to improve their on-line presence and this is not the way to do it. Good bye, JC Penney, never again!
Never in 30 years have i had worse customer service that refuse to cancel order not processed after 30 min. Kirby the manager also refused to help when he can over ride. Real customer service goes above and beyond to make experience great so they want to come back and shop. Not tell them wait 11 days when you get product bring to store or mail back for refund. Until then you are bullied to waiting keeping the ring even though its not fully processed yet and still in warehouse and the tracking number is even generated yet that is a joke. You need to change your policy been chatting since 30 min after the 30 min policy to cancel and no one wanted to help
If your company leaves, I would not have any comfortable environment to stock clothing and I would be Very Sad! I like to walk around the Woman's Clothing Section!
I ordered some Sketchers hiking boots from JCP online as they had the best price, (first time I every ordered with them) total was close to $60 so I placed order without seeing they charged me almost $9 for shipping which I wasn't happy about. I called them day after I placed my order, to cancel and reorder again, adding a few more items which would then be no shipping charge. Sounds easy right? Not with JCP, in spite of the order taking over 10 days to arrive, they wouldn't allow me to cancel one day after ordering online, they only give you 30 minutes to do that! Never heard of anything so ridiculous/insulting to customers, especially since i wanted to add to my order and give them more money! Customer service said no way they could fix it, supervisor said same thing, that everything is "in the system" and can't be changed. They also left off the unit number to my home and wouldn't even correct that, made me go to UPS.com and sign up so I could attempt to change it there. Now I understand why they have continual bankruptcies, when both Amazon and Walmart make orders, returns, cancellations so easy, why in the world would they be so stupid and insulting. BUYER BEWARE, NEVER AGAIN AND SO REGRET I GAVE THEM MY BUSINESS.
I bought some St john's bay. Kakhis. J C Pennies went out of business here. The worst pants I ever bought! If you have no $#*! No balls and a beer belly? These are for you! Because I have an $#*! the belt line fits my belly but does not include my butt. That makes the pants sit on the crack of my $#*!. And it pushes down my underwear. And THE MOST SCRATCHY ANNOYING TAG. RIPS MY SKIN. THEY COME WITH PLUMMERS CRACK YOU DON'T HAVE TO BEND. I called to return them. And it is not easy. You pay the shipping. And they have like 10 places they could go back to. And you are supposed decode there invoice. Lol. Forget I am done. Ordered some lee jeans which are the best pants I have ever owned. Relaxed fit total comfort flat front!
Bad customer service, Cannot cancel your order (after 1 month order online for a mattress) they kick the ball to vendor. They don't allow you to cancel your order. Bottom line: do not waste your time, your money with JCPenney business. I think this is why JCPenney close to the bankruptcy. 5/11/2021.

Placed an order to receive next day, not only did I not receive it the next day when I called to follow up on this was told it was delayed and I would be receiving my order the next day. Next day follow up on website only to find out that my order still had not shipped. When i spoke to customer service these people are great at not providing the information and actions asked for.
This will be my last attempt to purchase from this company.
So I placed a pretty big order for $300+ and then I cancelled it. Later I discovered they still shipped the items. So I was like okay that is fine. But I received a tablet which has a cracked edge as well as two pillows which have dirt smeared all over them and curly dark hair. I am quite upset because there is not a store near me. They expect me to travel to the store in another town and I do not drive. They won't even send me a USPS label so I can get free pickup they want me to go to UPS in another town as well. Why did they send me dirty items and broken to begin with? I would like replacements and also a free USPS shipping label.
I ordered 3 camisoles and a Jean jacket for my grand daughter. I picked up my order and went to my car and opened it. IT WAS NOT MY ORDER! I immediately went back into the store to inquire about my order and return the incorrect order. No one knew what happened to my order and a week later I'm still waiting for my credit. Unfortunately I ordered additional items from them and I'm still waiting for those items to arrive. I've been a customer and a JC Penny credit card holder for over 40 years. I'm EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED & DISSATISFIED!

I Do not recommend JC Penney for anything. I have been a long time cc holder, and ordered an expensive pair of earrings for Christmas which I never received, filed a dispute, they are charging me anyway... for something I never received.
Answer: I believe that there is a policy related to coupons. The clerk did look up your. Credit card. If you had been shopping at a grocery without your coupon it would have been the same. It is nice that at times they have made an exception for you which was good customer service on their part. Perhaps you had a new clerk that was still training or very busy. You should not blame the store for one instance with one employee. You also should not expect special treatment just because someone has bent the rules in the past.
Answer: No. A waste of your money. The original warranty will suffice.
