You know when you create an account then change numbers because you lost your phone or it was stolen but the account wants to text that phone you no longer have so your screwed? Not a problem with ID.me quick conference by video, operator verifies its you and boom! You're done and updating your new number easy and stress free!
My first experience with I.D. Me was when I was applying for a VA identification card. It was pretty easy after I figured out how to upload pictures of my Drivers License and got a picture of myself uploaded.
The option to use it for my Social Security account several years later seemed like the right choice. It was easy enough to upload my I.D. material but the video selfie for facial recognition was not so, as after I removed my glasses it was impossible to read the screen after recording. The original instructions said to film in a well lighted area and avoid being backlit. I did, and had to replace my glasses to see that it was too bright, so I moved to a less bright area and filmed my face. Again, failed, move to a darker position. So I moved. It failed again, too dark. I moved to a blank wall in an unlit hallway and it worked, finally. Having to put on my glasses after each session so I could see what I needed to do next was frankly irritating. The print should be much larger and perhaps bolder as well.
The whole irritating facial recognition part, while admittedly necessary is why I did not apply 5 stars.
ID.ME bad been a great service. They worked diligently to resolve a password issue which enabled me to use ID.ME to get discounts from other sites. I strongly recommend them!
My experience using MY.ID was time saving, learning new tools and how to use those tools in a proper way. And saves enough time to do some productive work.
