HP's reputation is increasingly marred by significant customer dissatisfaction, primarily stemming from poor customer service and product reliability issues. While some customers praise the quality and reliability of HP products, particularly laptops and printers, many express frustration over unresponsive support, complicated return processes, and inadequate troubleshooting assistance. Common complaints include lengthy wait times, ineffective repairs, and a perceived lack of care for long-term customers. This growing discontent suggests a need for HP to enhance its customer service approach and address product support challenges to retain customer loyalty and improve overall satisfaction.

HP HAS PUSHED OUT FIRMWARE THAT PREVENTS USERS FROM USING NON-HP INK. BUY REPLACEMENT HP OEM CARTRIDGES COSTS ABOUT 50% OF THE PRINTER COST. 3RD PARTY COST IS AROUND 25%. PRINTER IS USELESS WITHOUT HP INK CARTRIDGE CHIPS. DO NOT BUY HP!
I bought this laser colour printer I am hoping this applies to all other printers as well. I did my search before buying this printer and on HP web site it's written 1200 pages for Colour and 1400 pages for the Black cartridges. As I am not heavy user pension person and not much printing I decide I'll buy this because drums are very expensive but I tot it's ok if I could use this much prints in 2.3 to 3 years it's ok after getting a new drums but I only able to get 700 colour and 800 black ink printing then says change cartridges. It's mean I have less 600 to 800 pages less with regional ink after word with HP help guys so many of the keep coming back with reasons dayim first cartridges are coming less ink but wasn't saying that in web site. Also they try telling me I may don't know how to setup printer wow I am not sure this is plug and play printers setup network pices of cake so I am not sure why they keep saying stupid thing and seen you don't know anything. I told them fix this error or I am going to take this matter to fair trading and write on media web sides hope the seen this last time they said they come back to me but whole week I wait for solution siding turn up so it's my turn to start writing now and never buying HP HP HP again. Picture of my printer do not buy one please otherwise u will come up same as my situation.
The recommendation to hold HP ink jet to a high standard is very minimal as the time in which matters are not answered and neither satisfied in a timely fashion. As my time is extremely valuable and cannot be replaced, companies such as this one, do not value the time of their customers. As for me personally the wait times, enact a level of frustration coupled with multitudes anxiety. In addition to an unlimited to, having to be transferred several times is a total waste of time. Especially when I was I was clear with what my intentions for calling was made plain.
Warning to anyone looking to purchase from HP with extended warranty.
I purchased my laptop around 12 months ago with a 3 year warranty. I had an issue with the fan grinding noise within 3 months which I did send back to HP (After about 2 hours of debugging on their support line) The item was returned repaired.
Recently I noticed some Stuck pixels on my screen, they're red and green all around the screen. I sent it into HP after again, spending a stupid amount of time on their support and it came back with a new display, the issue still persists. So I spent another 2-3 hours on with support trying the exact same things I tried 5 days before and obviously nothing was fixed so it was booked in for another repair. When checking their system it said to get in contact with HP to get more information about the fault. So on Friday I got in touch asking what information they needed. No response. Until this morning when they notified me on WhatsApp as they hadn't heard from me they were closing my case. I've not heard from HP despite messaging Saturday and Sunday so I'm not sure why they closed the case?
Anyway, I called today to try to get a resolution but I was cut off half way through the call.
All in all, don't bother buying from HP if you care about getting your device fixed. I think I've given up at this point.
My laptop was sent back in the same faulty condition I sent it in despite sending emails showing the issue. I'm unsure if their repair team are just incompetent or lazy as I never received a response and just had the laptop shipped back.
I'll probably take it to a third party and claim any costs back against HP, seems the only way forward now.
I bought a hp printer with year supply of ink. Printer it self is okay nothing to Bragg about. Very hard to work. Not simple like I had it before. But ink supply thru HP is a biggest scam. They will charge you every single month but will not send you ink. You will end up spending more for the ink in store with their bogus plan.
FOLKS: do not buy the product. It is not what it was before. There are better printer quality and also most importantly have better customer service. People that answer the phones barely speak English and most of the time do not understand what you are asking them.
HORRIBLE PRODUCTS AND HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!
The worst website bc it does not remember your pw. Terrible customer service (line is unstable and then disconnects). They remotely shut my ability to print. So much difficulty logging in. Finally succeeded. Hopefully canceled that subscription after giving them a new CC. Just awful. They also remotely shut off my ability print. Awful company. As soon as it breaks (scheduled to break wi a year, I will get an Epson.
I have had nothing but problems since I purchased my first HP all in one over a year and a half ago every time the Wi-Fi goes out, I have to call support so they can help me reconnect because it never works the last time they told me all your printer is old, you have to get a new one because your Wi-Fi speeds too high, mind you, my printers a year and a half old, I buy a new printer, then they had the audacity to tell me it's used which it's not, I tell them I can no longer use the ink that you're sending me, because I don't have that printer anymore, it doesn't work, and lo and behold, today may 6th they charged for the ink, and then when I finally got ahold of the instinct, people face it over, glad cancel it for you, but you're still gonna be billed for this month they were going to still send you to cartridges of being you can't use because we're fking idiots. I have never dealt with a more incompetent company in my life.
I have used HP printers for over 20 years. Your ink has gone so far down and quality. I bought color and black for 6:40 XL 7200 printer. After I put the color in I found that the package said it was outdated. I printed one page and it's now dead no color.
I have bought three packages each of color and black in order to run the sprinter that I bought last September. Quality of your ink is totally unacceptable. Will not ever buy another HP product.
I have had hp printers for years. I have always had the problem of being able to use non-hp cartridges but have always been able to fix the issue and continuing my printing until this latest update. I have non-hp cartridges installed and all of a sudden I cannot print and this is a business printer. Needless to say I guess this last firmware update cannot be fixed. I will never buy another HP printer again. I refuse to be forced to buy hp cartridges and will be shipping tomorrow for a new non-HP printer.
After calling costumer service on March and agreed to fix my half broken screen of totally working computer (Hp Curved All In One Envy about $3000) and pay from my pocket in 10 days.
They send me unprofessional shipping equipments and I sent it.
They kept delaying to send it back.
After a month they send it unrepaired and more damaged broken stand and not even working computer.
Before sent it I use to used it by adding an extra monitor.
Not any more
I called back
Costumer services and waiting hours they kept transferring me from department to another and they kept taking notes and every department ask me they same question without bothering themselves to even to check the previous notes and without solving the problem.
So I lost the computer and I delayed all my computer works and wasted my time with no results.
The last answer was they will call me back.
They didn't.
They deserve -10 stars
Back in March 2022 I had a laptop issue where it had to be replaced, the warranty was extended through 3/22/24. Going back to my current lap issue where there are issues with the battery keeping charge and the power button intermittently and have struggled to get it turned back on even after updating the software. These issues have been going on for too long now. The last time I called I was stuck on hold for 4 hours and had to end the call due to a work call coming in. I contacted support and sent them the proof that the warranty was in fact extended. Your Escalations department denied my claim to have the lap top replaced or to have a tech come out and fix it. My lap top is used for both work and school and after years of owning nothing but HP products, I am debating on switching. Even when I asked to speak to the manager of the escalations rep, she told me she's just going to tell you the same thing and that they don't send out techs anymore because we are not under a covid restriction. I also felt that the rep failed to communicate with me appropriately, she did most the talking and kept interrupting me.
So bad product quality (laptop), not as good as before, and service is not good. Kicking balls between distributor.
Did you know that you are required to purchase ALL color cartridges in order to print in Black and White? Did you know that if there is any issue with any cartridge at all (even the ones you are not using and do not want to use) that you are required to purchase new ones in order to do a print job? I didn't and it was never conveyed to me that this was the case with HP printers. I tried their Instant Ink subscription plan, but was never sent new cartridges when mine got low (as was marketed to me in the subscription plan highlights), so I cancelled the Instant Ink subscription plan and went to the store to buy a black ink cartridge. Come home to print out my black and white pages, but oh no. That's not allow unless ALL 4 cartridges are installed and have enough ink to print. I reach out to Support and they tell me this is the case. Why would you think you could print in black and white without color cartridges? Idiot customer. Don't you see? This is how we continue to blackmail you into purchasing items you don't need in order to use the ones you do need. This is modern day tech blackmail and I hope my story will highlight to you the reason why you shouldn't do business with HP printers. Hope this helps.
Remember when setting up a printer took less than 6 hours? I remember too. The fact that their printers require their own terrible software to setup and often take hours of debugging are a few reasons why you should just go with another brand. Save yourself the time, energy, and money and go with something else.
A relatively new printer stopped working. Multiple hours with Customer Support and no resolution. Was hung up on or returned call promises evaporated.
Had an issue printing Avery labels so called HP technical support for help with my printer settings. When I called it took 26 minutes to get through to a live person and they told me that my printer was out of warranty and therefore I had to pay $19.99 for telephone technical support. I find this to be outrageous. How can a company charge to to help a customer with technical support over the phone. I spoke to Jencelle, Emanuel and Caleb-all terrible.
Absolutely horrible, bought this printer 3 months ago. Does not allow a hard wire to your computer. After three months it stopped working via bluetooth. Contacted customer care and they said I had to pay $100 to get rid of so called "malware" that has infected the printer. DO NOT BUY THIS GARBAGE!
These printers are crap says printer is working correctly. Hp says all is well smart print can't seem to find it. I will never buy hp ag again
I absolutely loathe HP after this experience. I got what turned out to be a defective TANGO X printer. I purchased online through the Apple store. It came after many weeks since it was on backorder. It arrived March 2022 and within 2 months the printer was wonky and not working properly. I am a fairly tech savvy person so I attempted all the right channels for troubleshooting. After many emails, calls and troubleshooting hours (via screen sharing) I finally got the ok to send it back to HP. I wait months. I finally get it a few weeks ago MARCH 2023. And they forget to add the plug. I ask HP if they can overnight it for fastest delivery so I can get it sooner and not wait the 10 days which felt like an added insult to injury. They say no, must wait 7-10 days. So this was the last straw. I requested a refund instead of waiting another 10 days for them to mail me a plug. They tell me to call APPLE since my warranty is a few days from expiring and I will be "pro-rated" a refund. I call Apple and they can't help. Each call, each touchpoint is at least an hour often 2, of my day. Added up those hours devoted to trying to sort out this problem adds up to WAY more than the $249 I spent on this printer. Which now I hear has been discontinued. The only positive in all this is I have found a new calling. And it starts here and now. I hope HP goes bankrupt. It's coming soon, I know it. There's only so long you can get away with this kind of behavior. I am very patient person. I will be cheering when HP goes down.
I change my plan in February from the 17.99 plan, here it is April they still charge me that even tho it shows in my app the new plan I switch too. Smh The services great but the excessive charging of my card is not. I will not recommend this services to anyone until they get their accounting together.
Answer: Impossible by phone since at least December 2023. ( May be before)
Answer: I'm old and remember the HP of 20 years ago. Boy has time changed this company.
Answer: Lenovo is similar to HP, though the performance of Lenovo's computers is complete crap, the upside to it is that they at least have good service.
