I have been working with Hoveround for 2 weeks to see if I qualify to receive a Hoveround. So far it appears that things are progressing.
I have not heard back from the insurance dept. about the Hoveraround I would like to know if it got accepted or not.
If you say sending paperwork then send it.
If you say you will email then email it.
And take responsibility for screwing up don't blame the fax cat my doctor's when you never sent it or or tell the customer your chair was declined by Medicare when in fact it was your internal billing / insurance dept. never submitted to Medicare I setup 3 way call with hoveround myself and Medicare claims office and still hoveround is arguing that they have a denial letter and some number on it that Medicare clearly saying that number not valid also not enough digits. Medicare offered to take claim now but hoveround refused because paperwork out of order. If you people would do your jobs correctly and in a timely manner and not fight the system that gives you a paycheck you would have many more sales. And your customers would be a lot happier.
My mom is 80 years old. They gave us the run around. I will never use them and I will never recommend them. Shame on them for treating a 80 year old like this.
I find it difficult to steer straight without running into walls and open doors. Why did you place the pouch on the right side when I specifically said I was left-handed. The joystick, if possible, should be placed before the "On" & "Off" button to avoid getting clothing caught on the joystick.
The seat is very comfortable.
The wheelchair that we have is over 7 years old. My wife has MS and is in that chair for 14 to 16 hours a day.
At 5 years we requested a replacement and the insurance company delayed for two months. Finally they approved a new battery, new arm with controls and new wheels. Now the Hoveround seat hurts my wife
While sitting in it for 14 to 16 hours. The battery charger is hard for her to attach and the chair had squeaks
As it moves from room to room.
Wendy has just seen our Dr. John Lichtenstein of Kerhonkson, NY to have him submit a report on Wendy's
Physical condition. We are waiting for Hoveround to submit a new request to the insurance company to replace the wheel chair with a new one.
SUCH A BIG HELP. I GOT MY LIFE BACK. I WAS NOT ABLETO GO EVEN AROUND IN MY HOUSE WITHOUT PAIN. I NOW FEEL LIKE I GOT MY LIFE BACK AND CAN DEPEND ON MYSELF FOR EVEN THE SMALLEST OF THINGS. THANKS HOVEROUND.
Very rude to my disabled husband because he wanted to return their uncomfortable chair and hung up on him in mid sentence.
Rude! Rude! Rude!
Hoveround seems to be living up to there word. I got through the interview with the doctor and it seemed to go in my favor. Big questions is medicare approval and I am low income and how soon that paperwork is completed to qualify me for payment on the 20% I can not afford. I will reserve my final say then.
I was expecting this power wheelchair request process to be involved and lengthy. Instead of months it was only a few weeks before I was notified that my chair was ready to be delivered!
Buster, the delivery, set up and proper wheelchair use instructor, was top notch! He made it easy to understand how to properly get seated, buckled in and maneuver using the joystick controller. Taught me how to park it, dismount, and connect the charger.
I am really enjoying the comfort and freedom my Hoveround chair provides... and it's made in the USA!
I decided to call Hoveround again. The nice lady at Hoveround sent me papers to be filled out by the doctor and then the doctor mailed them to Hoveround, which this was on Feb. 12,2020 when they were filled out and mailed. On Feb. 14,2020 I received a phone call but I couldn't get to in time but thankfully the caller left a message. The lady said, "Dolores Williams we need to get in touch with you to set a time and date when to bring your power chair." I was shocked and at first I thought it was a prank. I was elated, I am actually going to go in stores that I haven't been to in almost three years. On Feb, 25 2020 a man named Dani brought me my chair all the way from Memphis Tn. And took his time to explain everything I needed to know. I was impressed how much he was able to answer all the questions I had for him. He was well dressed, Then it was time to get in the driver's seat and as far as I can tell from his remarks I did very well on my first try.
Thank you so very much
Dolores Williams,
Basically serves the purpose of indoor transportation, but, elevators and thresholds are very dificult to navigate.
Now, red tape is threatening taking it from me. It is a Catch 22 or a case of can't live with it, can't live without it!
My old Hoveround power wheelchair was old and breaking down too often. I qualified for a new chair. The customer service handled getting me an appointment with my doctor, the paperwork and Medicare. When the chair was delivered, the technician adjusted the new chair and even showed me how to use the new attachable wheelchair legs so I can raise my feet. The only thing was all the paperwork my Doctor had to fill out I felt bad for his administration team.
From the second she answered the phone on the 800 number I called I was handled and everything was taken care of by the agent. Customer Service is A+
Ron, Hoveround's representative from Jacksonville Florida did an outstanding in setting up my new power wheelchair. Was very impressed with his knowledge of the powerchair and its operation. This is my second powerchair from Hoveround and I am very satisfied with their products and services.
Was quoted a price over the phone. When product was delivered, the price increased. Purchased item anyway but was not happy with the sales person.
The customer service was good. My Rep took the time to call my Dr office to make my mobile appointment. She gave me details for what to look for next.
I have owned a single Hoveround FWD PWC for 19 years because it alone totally satisfied my every need - because I ordered it to do just that. Because support was threatened by lack of spares, I was forced to order a new PWC which I just received 2/1/2020, with considerable difficulty. A long bitter period of running a gauntlet for 18 months from 2015 through 2017 had brought me into head-on contact with several managers who had no empathy for my situation. Contact with CMS managers eventually relieved that impasse, but embittered Hoveround managers led me to understand that I should not expect to receive further support. A complaint filed with the Sarasota BBB forced negotiations that brought resolution for me and Hoveround. Ordering my new PWC was much easier, and my mandatory modification requirement was handled by one of my past managers. In this delivery, I was very pleased with every facet of support. Hoveround has also suffered from Medicare restrictions imposed by CMS. Hoveround is the ONLY company that can supply PWC's, tech support, maintenance, and repair. Fortunately, the DMEPOS competition contracts have expired, for their effects were extremely destructive. Thankfully Hoveround can once again market their products in our area. Travis Brice
Answer: Some seem to be getting the equipment supplier mixed up with Medicare. Medicare has theirs own agenda (deny! Deny! Deny!), like most insurance co. Who don't want to pay out. Power wheelchair and scooter companies just do what they can. If a doctor prescribes and Medicare accepts/denies, its not the companies' fault. The doctor is valued to do his duty the best he can and Medicare supposed to do right by the benefiticary. I don't know. Seems a lot of blame is possible, not just with one side of it.

Answer: Yes, if doctor can prove medically necessary. Doctor must make file notes to support and you must have an office visit that only addresses the need for your chair.
